  • I honestly love that Brad went to an older ball. Pros are always throwing hot new things on the market when in reality just throw what you are familiar with and make it work for the lane conditions at hand. Its nice to see.

    • Problem is they can’t now. Your not allowed to use any ball that’s more then 2 years old now. One of a few New PBA Rules they recently passed. Another is wristguards, pretty much any wrist guard that has metal in/on it is illegal now.

    • @@dylanfry7978 rly? I don’t think that’s the case EJ Tackett has been throwing a Venom Shock that was released over 10 years ago. Or you mean a ball that’s not still being produced that’s over two years old?

    • @@larrytate1657 Idk it’s confusing to me. I would think you could still throw a Phase 2 for example but not one that’s 7 years old. One that has been produced within that 2-year Time Frame. Pretty sure it’ll tell you the year the Ball was made just by looking up the Serial Numbers. As for Tackett and the Venom Shock, like I mentioned these rules have just recently went into effect, or are going to take effect very soon I’m not 100% sure on that part. Also different Tournaments have different rules and such so there is that as well.. But I could be wrong. This is just my take-away from people I’ve talked to, videos I’ve watched, and research I have done. But like for example JR Raymond said this same thing in one of his videos, (maybe he’s wrong idk) and this is what I hear from Pro-Shop operators etc. I would like some clarification though.

  • Kyle's discussion of the goal being to make your bad shots be as close as possible to your good shots that they still have a chance hits home with me That's been a huge focus on my game lately. When I'm on, I'm on. I have plenty of great shots. But I'm inconsistent and I've been working on bringing that variation down so if I miss it's not so impactful. I've become much more mindful of what exactly my body is doing and repeating that All this to say...appreciate the "conversation" and for me it drives home that I should continue with this mindset

  • Wishing you guys the best. Look, I'm now 65 and my bowling years are behind me. But, can I please say this? I really believe that sometimes you two overthink this game. "Look, the topography shows some dry from 9-6 board at twenty feet." "Maybe if I go to a smoother ball with pin down I might get that finish I need." "Mallott just bowled a 300 on this pair with a Phase II. Maybe I should make a switch this game." I always thought it was more about repetition, staying slow, consistent release, and mental toughness. Both your guys show ya got the last, but why not rely on your ball reps to give you the right ball and help you get lined up right? We never had those guys; it would have been a real advantage talking to someone who knows my game and who knows the finer points of bowling, and who knows his equipment. That would have allowed me not to think so much and just concentrate on making good shots. If I didn't make the cut, I'd make him take me to dinner. Good luck Brad & Kyle! Please show more shots of Verity.

I would say it is good for those dry conditions. For me, it definitely holds in the oil if I miss left but strong enough to bounce off the dry and not overreact if I miss right. I would absolutely recommend getting an eternity

That and it doesn't exactly have that versatility for me and my game. Perhaps I can try a different layout since pin down has been phenomenal for me these days.
