This is what the lineup should look like. Everyone was pumped up. If this condition continues it will be a big problem for the opposing pitcher.
Verdugo batting 4th is not ideal.
Brewer's pitching trainer needs to talk to that pitcher, cause a veteran hitter identify the pitch due to the fact that the player(the pitcher) double tap the ball in the glove before throwing.
Once Judge, Rizzo and Gleyber stay consistent you’re gonna see a lot more of these blowouts.. only a matter of time. #Chasing28

Why were they pitching in the 60s?
They aren’t pitchers. They were position players, so they don’t want to hurt their arm when the do play their set positions.

The one thing I do not understand being a Yankee fan since like 1987-1988 back when I was like 7-8 years old. They never steal any bases, I mean they do sometimes but not like other teams. Now not sure if it is because they do not have a good lead off man who can get on base or what. With this team this year, even when Volpe gets on base, he rarely steals second. Now who is making that call? Is it Boone or Volpe? The Yanks never play small ball and rely on the long ball. Get on base, steal second, get to 3rd on a grounder or a base hit and score on a sac or a hit. Start the game with a 1-0 lead. I dunno, just venting, really means nothing.
The theory is Volpe doesn’t want to get thrown out stealing with so much power behind him. When DJ comes back, he’ll move down the order and probably steal more bases.

Both teams brought in non-pitchers at the end. This saves the bullpen arms in a game that is essentially over. It’s actually fun to watch them.

I’m new to the MLB. Can anyone explain why the Brewers were pitching lackadaisical 50-60mph balls in the 8th and 9th while the Yankees were still trying to homer them? I mean the Yankees were still bombing them out in the stands
Brewers were playing a position player at pitcher to not waste actual pitchers' arms in a blowout
Having rested bullpen pitchers and utilizing them at the right time is a very important part of having an overall winning baseball team. If you are losing 11-1 late in a game, there’s no point in sending out an actual pitcher from your bullpen and wasting them, potentially making them unavailable for the next game when you have already essentially lost. In those scenarios, teams will send out a position player. The batters are still trying to actually hit against them because those at bats still count towards their numbers (HR, AVG, RBI, OPS, etc.).

Yanks need to start hitting up and down the lineup, for real. Without Soto, we would be last in the AL East as he's been keeping us afloat. Gleyber's season officially began last night, as he had basically contributed nothing for a month, Judge finally had a better night at the plate despite striking out, Rizzo is getting hot... Need for all these players to contribute consistently, or else we're a 1-man team, like the last few years, except it would be everything on Soto now. Yanks need to immediately tie him to an extension, trade for another pitcher, and next offseason improve the bullpen and get 1 better hitter.

I'm guessing both teams realized the game was already over after the 8th and just wanted to have fun in the 9th. Looks almost like a HR derby
