PC-24 - Interior Versatility & Reconfiguration

A business jet designed for flexible use must have an interior which can be reconfigured to suit different missions. And that is exactly what the Pilatus PC-24 Super Versatile Jet offers. Pilatus Marketing Technical Specialist, Andrew Westfall takes viewers inside a 6+2 cabin configuration, which features six executive seats in a forward club layout, and two commuter seats that can be interchanged with aft storage cabinets, still leaving ample aft cargo space for baggage and equipment.
The Pilatus experience continues on:

  • You can have a full fledged bed, seats and a separate Toilet with sink in the rear. That would be the best configuration.

  • You forgot its dirt/grass strip capability 🪨🌿 If you do take those mountain bikes you could land a LOT closer to nature, or the mine site, or the patient, etc etc.

  • Wow, I never thought a private jet could do all that. It's almost like the Cessna 208 of the jet world. Is it possible to install auxiliary fuel tanks on it? The cargo space seems specious enough for a couple 100 gallons of fuel.

  • This look's like a great plane, the manufactures should have two different versions: 1) the current lay-out (large cargo door) and 2) small cargo door, aft lab & walking-in cabinet food area.

    • Why? Do you understand the incredible expense to certify a new airframe like that? Technically it would be a modification of an existing design, so could be a supplemental type certificate, but we're still talking millions and millions of dollars to get it certified. Then the cost of the tooling and setup to manufacture a second variant. Lastly, that's just not the Pilatus style. They're known for the standard pallet-size cargo door. You could have cabinets inside even with the cargo door, and that's quite possible since it's merely a removable accessory that attaches to the L-track. An aft lav also makes no sense. The cabin outflow valve is located near the front at the lav section. All airflow in the passenger cabin is forwards towards the lav, and all airflow from the cockpit is rearwards towards the lav. The practical reasoning for locating it there rather than the rear is to provide effective dual-zone climate control between the cockpit and passenger cabin, and then the lav location merely follows the outflow valve's location for obvious reasons. It's also an efficient use of space directly across from the stairs. Rest assured that everything is the way it is for a very good reason, and that Swiss engineering and manufacturing is second to none.

    • @@mxlzzu, yes you can. Blackhawk Aerospace modifies Beechcrafts. They replace the original turboprop engines. So i must find a company like them who can modify this jet aircraft. I just want a higher hp engine from the original. Of course there are certification rules.

    • @@mxlzzu, yes pt6 but a pt6 with more power. maybe they have the same engine type but with a model with more power. that's the problem, this jet invented its own category and there nothing like it. if they say it can't be done, i have to accept it. but i will still ask if they can give me more power for shorter take off and landing and faster speed. no harm in asking right? hahaha!

    • @@mxlzzu, for sure they already have future plans on paper already. It is the first versatile jet! these designers never say it cant be done! they will just say, can you wait for say, 2-4 years? it all depends on how successful their sales will be! hahaha!!

  • The only issue, the lab should be in the back.

    @superblasto8547@superblasto8547 Жыл бұрын
    • If the lav was in the back then the whole cabin would smell it, because the outflow valve is between the cockpit and passenger section to enable effective dual-zone climate control. The space beside the entrance/stairs wouldn't be better used for anything other than a lav, so it's the best location.
