This is cool and useful information.
Underrated conment.
The best part of the movie is when Kong and Godzilla realize that both their moms are called Marta and team up.
You miss heard. Her name was Mothra.
@@vilkomen no, they were just saying 'mother'
@Wobbuffet Enough with being an asshole. It didn't make you seem smart or likeable the 1st time or the 4th billionth time.
@@vilkomen nah he's right
hilarious and original
There's a Fierstein moment in "True Lies" when Tia Carrere sees the bridge is out right before the car flies off. "Oh shit..."
8:13, 9:45 "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky" Star trek TOS season 3 episode 8. Most awesome title that deserves to be a Jimi Hendrix song. How did Mike miss it?!
The most impressive thing about Kong vs. Godzilla is that Mike and Jay found a way to make a 40 minute video about it.
They talked about the post-quel Star Wars films for hours. They can make a show out of anything.
@@ponderance It really shows how talented these guys are.
@@DannoOMG having hosted a talk show myself, they really are good at what they do. Squeezing an interesting 30 min to an hour out of some of the crap they discuss is honestly a real talent. I’m not joking when I say that I am impressed. Lots of people think they can talk in front of a camera or on mic in this regards but very few really can do it well.
ponderance I’ve talked with my friends about those movies for like 30 hours lmao
@@iforgot87872 love your ytps
I rewatched the video of Rich Evans destroying a ton of Star Wars merchandise in his room to make sure the bar is set for monster movies
"Kid's movie" as applied here is generally code for, "Movie adults will be too self conscious to admit that they like." It's just like how everyone likes listening to Abba, but nobody *admits* that they like Abba.
Fuck that, Abba is better than the Beatles.
Abba is great and I'm tired of pretending otherwise
Abba rules
@@shazang0 idk bout that, but I agree Abba slaps
I admit that I like ABBA. :(
26:27 This might have been an homage/reference/stolen to the Japanese movie Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002), where the Japanese military uses the bones from the original Godzilla as the skeleton to create Mechagodzilla (Kiriyu) to fight Millennium Godzilla. Then, when it hears Godzilla roar, Kiriyu's genetic memory overrides the machine and it goes nuts.
Citizen Kane actually does have a King Kong connection, in that they used rear projection from King Kong in one scene, so there are pterodactyls in the background of one scene of Kane.
Holy shit that's amazing
More movies should have pterodactyls in the background
Is this true?
@@mrcoatsworth429 yes
@@PurpleColonel that's amazing.
This one dives straight into the Shōwa era. Godzilla almost did his infamous little victory dance.
Yep, this was totally classic Godzilla schlock just modernized and it was glorious.
They even referenced the tree scene in this movie, and it’s just as great as it was almost 60 years ago.
@@kingbash6466 I had to rewind on that scene twice until my brain accepted that they really did it
@@RoachDogg_JR Yeah, the fucker smirked when he hit Kong. Loved it.
@Luis Martinex In fairness, even in the old ones he was often only in the film for 10 minutes.
The idea of Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler searching for each other in an immense crowd inside a destroyed city caused me to flash back to Anne Heche looking for Tommy Lee Jones' daughter in the movie "Volcano." At least back then you had to yell the person's name over and over and over again.
The "oh no, what's next," trope was one of the funniest things I've seen on half in the bag. Bravo.
Godzilla and Kong get ready to take on Mechagodzilla, and then the Showbiz Pizza Bear appears... Godzilla: Is he with you? Kong: I thought he’s with you!
Kong: An...Anguirus.... Godzilla: HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT NAME!?
Mechagodzilla... do you bleed... mecha blood? .... _You willllllll_ ...
Mike: Don't cut all of this! Jay: Ok The review: Has like 15 minutes of hilarious nonsense
How could they forget the best Firestein Event, Willam Dafoe's "oh" before getting his own glider in his chest from the first Sami Rami Spiderman.
