Something I have been thinking about for a while is that Mr Poopybutthole doesn't implant a good memory. They remember him having them trapped in an elevator. It is a different parasite who rescues them.

I always thought Mr PBH was a fourth-wall-breaking meta-parasite in the minds of us, the audience. 1. He appears in the intro making you go "was this guy always there?" How many of us went back and watched previous intros because we doubted our own memories? 2. We only have good memories of him. 3. He can't be killed by the characters in the episode because he's in our minds, not theirs (also explains why he can watch the show with us). 4. Now he's a canonical character who we're all willing to accept has always been around. I honestly thought that was the whole point of the episode. Am I the only one who thought that? Anyway thanks for making these videos, they're a great way to get even more enjoyment out of Rick and Morty episodes!
That's a really interesting idea! I never heard that interpretation before, but I think it actually makes a lot more sense than any other theory. I wonder if maybe that was the original intent of the episode at the time, because it really does fit perfectly.

Another possible explanation on the reason why Jerry said "a long time friend" is because this is not Rick and Morty's(C-137) original dimension so there is a possibility where they met Mr. Poopybutthole a long time ago in this dimension.

I think Mr. poopy butthole is like Tom Bombadil from lord of the rings. He is just an inconspicuous, extremely powerful and relatively unknown entity. He is fun loving and doesn’t have some grand ulterior motive but instead just lives his life observing. I don’t think that he is ever meant to be fully understood, he is just supposed to be accepted, mystery and all.

My first thought was that he was a queen parasite because like you said it was obvious he started the whole parasites multiplying thing in the beginning. Maybe he's one of the oldest morties. Rick's shirt, Morty's voice, able to take some of the hardest gunfire, hes probably an older, more beneficial Morty from beyond the spiral.
Alternatively, Mr Poopybutthole being in the intro is just a different reality in which he actually was there. Consider that Rick and Morty c-137 weren't the main characters after the intro in Mortynight Run.
Yeah, those points tend to get ignored when people are making videos to push yet another ill-conceived Rick & Morty fan theory. Hell, Morty probably isn't even the c-137 universe's Morty, either. Multiverse theory pretty much makes *anything* possible, without time travel.
Specifically the not c-137 rick is the one who actually collects the rocks containing the parasites an episode earlier meaning they are definitely not in the c-137 ricks current universe that seems to be the one we are following in most episodes

Dan Harmon says "Mr Poopy Butthole, a lot of people dont know, is actually an adult Meeseeks. That's canon." He actually says its canon. I would like to see how the Meeseeks evolve into that version.
Dan Harmon himself would tell you that he is never to be taken seriously. He is also the god of this particular universe, though, so I guess who's to say? I like the theory anyway so I'm gonna believe it. If he wasn't envisioned as an adult Meeseeks from the start, Harmon will find a way to make it so.

MPH is the mysterious Kyle. He was turned into that on a adventure with Rick. He is in so many of the Smith family’s memories because he was once the first born son born when Jerry and Beth were in high school. The reason Rick is sad and drunk on the first episode is because Kyle just gotten changed into MPH and decided to move to the planet he had the accident on. It also explains how Ricks bedroom is bigger than Summers and Mortys. He had moved into the bedroom of the eldest child. I think he might have did something to Morty to insure that he wasn’t intelligent enough to leave too.

I'm so ready for season 4! Small note: If you want to conclusively prove that Mr. PBH is a member of the family, it's worth pointing out that he is not Cronenburged. Only people with Morty's genome can resist becoming Cronenburgs, so the fact that Mr. and Mrs. PBH are sitting on one confirms a genetic connection. Wait, that also proves that Mrs. PBH is related to Morty... Ewww...

It's kind of like how America has states that have unified to form a country. A year is the time it takes for an object to revolve around the sun. The space station could be closer to the sun causing it to revolve around the sun faster. 15ish revolutions for the Earth could mean 40 revolutions on the galactic federation's space station. Making Summer 40 years old but also 15. In the video, Matpat is speculating a different universe in which everyone looks like Mr.Poopybutthole. The school has the galactic federation flag because the Earth joined the federation and adopted their calendar.

In high school, PBH is in love with his Jessicas dimension (hair confirms it), high likelihood of PBH BEING A Morty.
To clarify: in the poop in my pants book, the couples photo of the nasty slime version exists not cuz they both went to the treatment themselves, but it was caused when the evil slime Rick flipped the switch and caused the entire planet to revert into their slime form. Thus the photos are taken immediately upon the event occurring then receding (since the last photo in the photo strip is once again normal). Thxsss

Mr,Poop Butthole could totally be a " thought form" created by the Smith family. A feature or character made up or thought up by Rick more than likely. I'd say Rick because he has been known to dabble in alien hallucinogens and otherwise. Or even a split personality that he perhaps had separated by some scientific means I can't think of,but he could. Anyway Rick's imaginary friend, Or a facet of many of Rick's personality that has been splintered from the whole. Either way it has been materialized to be physical. The whole family sees now.
