    • @@Crying2Death Aotearoa means land of the long white cloud and is the Māori name for New Zealand. Pakeha is their word for white inhabitants of NZ, so anyone who lives here but isn't Māori and is European / White would be classified as Pakeha. I think it sort of means something like pale men or strange foreign people, made to call the first white people who came to NZ to live there.

      @Matteo-1@Matteo-111 ай бұрын
    • @@Matteo-1 wow that’s interesting. Is there a disconnect between the two? Like issues of racism or anything?

      @Crying2Death@Crying2Death11 ай бұрын
    • @@Crying2Death The Māori colonisation was actually quite peaceful, mainly made from trading and deals. But as in most cases of people moving into someone elses home land there were a few problems, like Māori people not liking the new people or Pakehas being racist and greedy. The British people did negotiate for land fairly but they also banned their language and had schools that tried to make Māori children more British. That was the result of bad people in power, but the problems are now resolved, mostly, except for some irrational people who seem to think that they deserve compensation for these things. The reason it went so well in NZ was because, instead of conquerors, the first contacts were mainly Christian missionaries who just wanted to share Jesus with the natives. They are the reason that it went so well.

  • Your shading of the builds is amazing! A delight to look at. Also, the lore of this island was the one that got me most hooked on the plot threads and premise. If I were to tell a story there, it would be about legacy, about how innovation is received, about the unattainable altar of the feats of our elders: -Do the modern day smiths reach the quality of the weapons of legend that Manaia himself made? -When a new smith tries new techniques, does the community embrace it or shun it for deviating of the way of predecessors? -How often are new smiths from outside are welcomed, or how much it depends on your standing with the local nobility? How was Manaia's relationship with his daughter? Did he feel his skill was perfectly passed on, does he miss forging himself? This doesn't have a right or wrong, either way, it will make a cool story!

  • Wouldn't be amazing if one day you release this entire world, with all the buildings (like a server) with custom weapon, game function, npcs,... it would take you some time, but I really think that it would probably become one of the most played server in minecraft history. By the way you are amazing

  • Your killing it! I would highly suggest finding your own font though! Impact is really overused, and having your own font will give more personality to your videos!

  • As a game developer, I feel the pain. I was in the middle of developing a Roblox game (it's not out still lol) and right when I was making the terrain, I literally got covid lol. Some tips for those who need it if they are building in Minecraft or developing like I was! 1) Make sure you have water and some food (ex: goldfish, banana, etc. something healthy.) 2) Make sure before you start any project to see if you have any symptom for illness. Illnesses can delay the project, furthermore, increasing the chances of it being discontinued. 3) Make sure you are warm if its winter. If it is winter and you feel suddenly warm after being in, for example, 20-degree weather with no heater on, seek warmth immediately. You could have hypothermia. 4) Make sure there's nothing nearby that could distract you. I've been developing the game for 9 months now and I still didn't get onto the scripts yet due to distractions. 5) Make sure you are in a positive or neutral mood before doing it. If you are in a negative mood, it could increase the chances of it being discontinued by around 40% if you make a mistake. 6) Make sure you have fun! **also pin please? heh... never been pinned before so sorry if this is annoying you lol...**
