"4/10, some people say I don't know much about hockey" 😂 you know he's been told that exact line by someone in his org before
Inspiring all sorts of confidence here
It's likely every other comment he reads on Twitter.
People who are usually true experts on stuff, are aware they no nothing 😂😂. Or there’s so much more they can learn. Ask a real tech expert how much they know about computers, or a literal physicist how much they know about physics. They’ll usually say 4…5…7 at most? Because they’ve been humbled so many times in life.
I disagree - that was a line.
@@deadprecidents True! Dunning Kruger effect.
Reminds me of the British inteview when they stopped an old man to ask him if he remembers a super old town derby match, and he said "Yes, I was the goalie" xD
Yup - Tommy Lawrence who played in goal for Liverpool.
More than just a derby match in this case - the F.A. cup final was (and still is) pretty much the single biggest domestic match in English football, and that year it happened to be between two of the biggest local rivals in the country. It was the (very rough) equivalent of an interviewer 50 years from now bumping into Travis Kelce and asking if he remembered where he was for Superbowl LIV!
Also this happened to Adrian Peterson who will be a HOF RB.
Yeah RIP to that guy
That's one of my favorite KZhead videos
To be fair, who expects an NHL GM to be walking around like any downtown sports bro? Guy looks like he’s on his way to catch the Cubs at Wrigley. 😂
Your point stands, but this is Nashville for the draft. The interviewer asked slightly off-mic "have you ever been to Nashville before" and you can clearly see a Honky Tonk sign behind them. This looks like Broadway.
Crazy people stalk and wait for people’s daily routines. He knew what he was doing
@@sixsix8six I realize that. But he looks specifically like he's heading to a baseball game to me. Probably because it's daytime in the summer.
He's clearly on Broadway in Nashville
I would’ve loved it if he name dropped Connor Bedard before the draft. Good coy answers to the last two questions. Didn’t want to get fined by the NHL.
The poker face you need from your GM.
Until the end haha. Little tip to the camera
"some people say i dont know that much." lmfaooo what a legend.
That part killed me. 😂
“One change you could make to the NHL” “Fire the Blackhawks GM”
More like "Give the Blackhawks GM a raise."
As someone who interviews people fairly regularly, never trust anyone that comfortable on camera haha
Hahaha, very well said
very good point
That's a good point, very few people can speak like that in front of a camera/
Why?
@@Bishop2e1fr, people underestimate the need for media training
Love that Davidson just deadpaned it and played along😂
Until the little nod at the end with “very confident”.
Apparently he originally declined to be interviewed but came back after a while cause he though it would be funny and he was right.
The point where he starts slowly naming the most famous hockey players and then just starts rapid firing his players 🤣
Lol
Your gullible to think this is real.
The look Davidson gives at the end... priceless...
He clearly knew somebody online could eventually figure out who he is
Young dude for a GM, hilarious how he rolled with it
It was set up....
@@fleckinz5789 Yeah probably. But I'll let you in on a secret. I don't give a shit. Most people don't give a shit. It's silly and fun and sometimes people just enjoy things.
@@Adamdidit great mentality you have there, bud. Most likely one of the reasons the IQ45 president as well. "Yeah, they rigged it, who cares, it's silly fun" right?!
@@Adamdiditso condescending. You arent far in life are yoy
@@roberts.wilson1848 If this silly video was staged, what changes? Nothing, real or fake it doesnt have an effect on your life. Can't say the same about the latter. You're comparing apples to oranges and that's never a strong argument.
He doesn’t think they rigged it for the hawks. He knows they did 😂
Nice
he can't say it out loud like that
this is from 2013, who did the rig the draft for? You dummies think this is about Connor don't you lol
@@jasonbobko9133tf you mean from 2013? this was in june this year😂
@@jasonbobko9133 Tf you talking about 😂 calling people “dummies” while being the only dumb one lmao
That look after he said “I’m very confident” 🤣🤣
At that point, he should have said that he was in the room when they drew the balls and it’s definitely not rigged… wonder if buddy would have clued in at that time
Taylor Hall & Nick Foligno 😂 the guys I just acquired
And as a Bruins fan, it breaks my heart. Freaking salary cap. But I want Hall and Foligno to have every opportunity. They are great players and Chicago is paying them more than the Bruins could. So good for them.
The direct to camera "I'm very confident". 💀
I like how he starts with Gretsky because he is just a sports bro on the street.
Definitely the best one to start with if that was a "tactic". I know damn near nothing about hockey -- but I know Gretsky.
I knew the first 2 names and none of the others.
Amazing how he kept his cool, played it down very well. Amazing that this happened!
Yeah, especially the part where he lied about the draft being rigged.
@moappleseider1699 Yeah. Reporter should be fired for alluding that draft was rigged. What your dumba.s ment to say the part where he lied about draft not being rigged. Trying to be smart and make a complete f..ng moron out of yourself.
@moappleseider1669 💀
LOL this is great... When asking about one change he would make, I was waiting for him to say "I think the Blackhawks should get a new GM, the current one is bad"
I was waiting for him to say that GMs needed to get paid more.
Bro... thats freaking hilarious. You can tell hes a chill dude
My right ear didn't feel like listening to this
I want to see where the interviewer realizes what just happened
Probably when people started reposting the interview lol
Genius if it's on purpose
It was not. He had no clue he was interviewing the Hawks GM
It’s obviously fake by the tone of the voice I don’t get how people can’t tell
kzhead.info/sun/dc2beat_jKBuY5E/bejne.html
@@OVERTRONit was genuine, you played yourself
Nah explain how
lmao ! how does he keep a straight face ?!
that "im pretty confident" smile, fucking said it all man.
He's the GM the Blackhawks need today and for the future. I was just looking at a pic of my family in the 1970s gathered behind an autograph signing table at a northern Illinois appliance store flanked by Bobby Hull and (my favorite while growing up) Stan Makita. Still a fan after fifty years!
That's pretty awesome. I'm glad you still have the pic, what a great memory.
I use makita tools. Very reliable.
This feels like it would be epic double troll where the interviewer knew, but playing dumb to get him to be more comfortable asking a hard hitting question.
He looked right before he answered 😂😂😂
Part of the cover up. :) All kidding aside, love that he did this interview so flawlessly. Respect.
Can you explain the rigged-ness accusation / conspiracy? I'm from Europe and hadn't heard.
@@YesOkayButWhy Chicago is a big market big city in the USA and they conveniently win the draft lottery for a generational talent over the worst teams in hockey in small markets NHL clearly wants this talent in a big market with a historical hockey organization not a small market with no history even if they're the worst team so should have the top pick
@@yellowsnowman9157 Ahhh. I get you. One more question. How long has this (seemed to have) been the case? 20 years? Since early 20th century? Thanks so much.
@@yellowsnowman9157 Not discrediting you here, but do you think the NBA wishes they rigged the draft for Lebron James or some of these other superstars? I know he was from cleveland but do you think the suits that run the NBA wish he had gone to a bigger city at the start of his career?
@@robert-zr1kxpeople still try to drum up the conspiracy that the NBA rigged the 1985 lottery to ensure Ewing would go to the NY Knicks. 😅
He did the classic Jim stare to the camera from the office at 1:38
Bro is hilarious I love Kyle Davidson
Hilarious-“some people would say I don’t know hockey at all”.That’s a great example self deprecating humour right there.Good for him not letting the job go to his head. You are up the mountain one day,and down in the hole the next.
imagine his team being criticized in the press. he's probably got people telling him he's a hockey idiot all the time.
That was my favorite line as well.
My right ear feels left out
Not just me. (Now I have to apologize to the wife. I assumed…)
That knowing look/grin at the end - awesome
I like how then GM never gives away his job. As a casual, every once in a while, hockey fan I would have never known he was the Chicago GM.
Reminds me of when a news host unknowingly interviewed Adrian peterson about road rage
I remember when Klay Thompson was interviewed and she had no clue
The best video I've seen all day! This is great!
Don’t have any interest or knowledge in hockey, but may have to start watching the Blackhawks. GM seems like a great guy 😂
This man is a Legend
Awesome. "I'm very confident." As he gives a wry smile to the camera.
his little smirk to the camera at the end is so good
I went to high school with him (the GM not the clueless interviewer). I believe him if he says it wasn't rigged for them to win. I'm also glad they did cuz the Ducks didn't get Bedard LOL
Who the heck would recognize the GM of the Blackhawks on the street in Nashville?
@@ryanprosper88 I'd like to think I would considering I'm a fan and I've seen a LOT of pictures, videos etc. Then again, it's easy to see a person that looks "a lot like" someone famous and you think "nah, just a doppelganger. Not really them."
It’s prob written in his contract somewhere that he has to reply no, every sport has rigged events for entertainment and profiting purposes
@gund2281 unless you're a fan of the Blackhawks, of course. As a Leafs fan, I wouldn't recognize the Habs GM or the Sabres Gm in any crowd.
@@ryanprosper88I would of recognized Bergen in when he was with the habs as a hawks fan because there are not many people who look like him but I wouldn’t notice many others
absolute legend
This type of humor is very keen midwestern. Timing delivery etc, priceless
Would’ve been great if he said: “Yes, it was definitely rigged!”
he would have been fired on the spot
He seems like such a cool guy
“I’m very confident” as he looks into the camera for the first time in the entire “interview”. Suuuuuuure
"Im very confident" lol
lmao that look at the end. 😂
That was amazing
The weird thing is: the more that you actually know about something, is also the more that you realize how little that you know. Meanwhile, some other guy might say that he knows 9 out of 10 about hockey when in reality, he really knows 0.5 out of 10
i thought the same thing!! they call it the dunning-kruger effect
The dunning kruger effect! I have a 16 year old brother who knows a little about a load of subjects (Internet kids eh?) But thinks he knows everything about them, because he doesn't know how little he knows
The irony being most people only have a surface-level understanding of Dunning-Kruger.😉
@@FentonWenge you only know a little about people's understanding of the dunning-kruger effect ;)
that's why you never trust anyone that calls themselves a chef. other people can bestow that title on someone, but you can't give it to yourself. It's a dead giveaway to a shitte cook. ive worked with too many "chefs" to know not to trust someone that calls themselves that title.
My left ear loved this
This was the best ever. OMG
the fact he said dave (David) Bolland makes me so happy, i went to school with that guy. its likely cause David was on the hawks when they won the cup. Reilly Smith, Brendan Smith, Brendan Shanahan, we all went to the same school as kids (just different ages).
Well, he did say he was 4/10 on hockey knowledge, so maybe the rest of his answers were honest too.
🧂🧂🧂🧂🧂🧂🧂🧂
Really? He took the team from having the worst prospect pool in the league to top 5 in a year. And that's without Bedard. They have 5 first round picks the next two years or so and something like 8 seconds in the next couple of years. They had ZERO first rounders last year and ended up with THREE. I suppose you could have done better though.
he’s constantly around nhl players and coaches so his idea of a 4/10 hockey knowledge would be a 10/10 for any normal person
@@Chisschalk ""The more you know, the more you realize you don't know." - Aristotle

LOL good knowledge!!!
If the draft wasn’t rigged, this interview definitely was
Yeah, you can tell it was setup.
The interviewer just missed the CBJ GM.
do you have proof the interview was rigged?
@@brandocalrissian3294 literally how lmao u children are such whiners
Nope. The interviewer is a local reporter who had no idea he was inerviewing a gm. He went to a bar to interview some people and a bunch of the gms were eating and having a few wobble pops there.
"I'm very confident"💀💀💀 what a g
You know he sent that around to the team and crew being like “WHAT ARE THE ODDS”
Seems a good dude, no ego.
I heard an interview with the GM and when first asked to be interviewed he declined. But then decided to have some fun. 😂
Probably because he realized they weren't asking to interview him specifically lol
@@johnr797 yep, he walked away and said to his guy “ he doesn’t know who I am, let’s have some fun “. So they went back.
He starts with Gretzky, Lemieux, and then begins naming off all regular blackhawks players

That was absolutely hilarious. Karma with a smile.
I dont know why I got recommended this video but I watched it anyway and this is hilarious. I dont watch hockey but I'm assuming GM means general manager?
My left ear loved this video smh
to be fair neither his look or demeanor gives off GM vibes
I always think of Wayne Gretzky and Mike Madonno. Legends
I like how he threw out some easy ones first then laid into it.
@@juliebraden6911Yeah. Interviewer should've had some questions about that after he said he "didn't know that much" and laid out that many names 😂
"Some people say I don't know that much." You've got to believe that is 100% TRUE!
This reminds me of when a Salt Lake City reporter asked Jordan Clarkson of the Utah Jazz if he was a basketball fan and if he’d been to a Jazz Game.
