Today we are ranking all the mustangs throughout the years, but not in any regular list. We're doing a MUSTANG TIER LIST.
Sorry it took me so long to upload, I've been busy with school, but if you have any suggestions for future videos, comment them down below and I'll make sure to feature your comment. Also, if you enjoyed the video please leave a like and subscribe for more content in the future.
Thanks for watching : )
I had to cut out the audio from 4:39-4:56 because the video's visibility got blocked for copyright. Sorry about that.
I thought it was because of the music. Will the audio be replaced with subtitles?
@@whitebrick8036 yeah the music is what got the videos visibility blocked. I might do subtitles for the whole video in the future, but it'll take a while
you mreally made me duble check all my set up u made me tweak
As an owner of a 1998 GT, I genuinely thought others hated that generation tbh. Glad to see it get a super respectable A Tier.
I came home from the hospital in a 98’ GT. Hope they aren’t too terrible.
@@defyyourlogic487 dude no way same 🤣
Same year
I thought the same, and I own a 95 GT
@@emptysoul4455it's probably one of my least favorite body's but it's still pretty cool especially this 05 gt I saw recently it was black convertible with all red leather interior looked pretty sick
You put the 99-04 mustang in s tier. Thank you. That’s all I was here for.
My favorite as well
As an owner of an 03 cobra I approve this message
literally all i came here for too lol
They’re kinda ugly though. They look like JDM mustangs
@@bioshcok21 my friend got me hooked. He had a 2000 mustang Gt with blown engine and transmission. I spent a summer helping him put a tremec t5 and a gen coyote engine in it. We were going into our junior year at the time. He went through a set of tires every 3 months with that car. I miss that car.
2014 mustang should be S tier that one is beautiful
I ended up putting it in S tier
100% agreed. Favorite body style. Perfect mix of retro and modern 🫡
05-09 still superior
@@princeminato yeah no , not in no aspect is it
@@ilikedojacat3944 that ugly rear tho💀
One big one that you missed was the 67-68. The cars had a 390 big block but also the GT500 was released with the 428. Then the GT500KR. Then the 69 was the 2nd gen. I definitely agree with the list though
I was gonna say this thanks for mentioning it. '67 Fastback S code 390 4 speed is my "attainable" dream Stang. Also they were a major refresh from the '64 1/2-66 so I was sad they weren't mentioned in the video
@@josephg41 yeah lol. We have a real 67 Shelby and a 67 Fastback and when it wasn’t brought up I kind of sat there and thought about it
@@josephg41 They also made a limited # of 427A 67 fastbacks. The 427 was a single 4 bbl 410 hp. But the only time the 427 was in the Mustang.
@@sparkyguitar0058 You are referring to the Toronto Canada dealer that offered Stallion Packages to cars only at their dealer. The 390 they sold was 410hp. The 427 was 550hp. The only FORD Mustangs Built were the 1967 Shelby GT500 427 Proto, car #0289, car #0544 Super Snake, and car #1947 Factory Dealer Order Promo "Factory Drag Snake".
@@TheMysticalFusion No Ford offered the 427 single 4 bbl. called the GTA with 427 option. Not many were ordered surprisely. Also is that dealer a sponsor of Barry Poole and his red with white striped CJ Mustangs? I surely do remember those bad ass machines.
The best ever built is the 03-04 SVT Termi cobra.
This is correct ✅
4.6 Power
I like the Boss 429, first gen GT500 and S550 GT350 better, but to each their own.
MY 03 was a GORILLA !
Cobra R was more Iconic.
As a terminator owner I approve of this haha, also 03 04 cobras had IRS from the factory :)
i believe the 2000 cobra r did too
All 99-04 cobras did if I’m not mistaken
Nice I have a 04 mach1 which never really gets mentioned at all and still had the live axel. The mach1 hp numbers were underrated at 305 since it's slightly faster with more torqe then the 320hp 2002 cobra which both basically had the same motor but the mach had better cam.
@@GolfInHawaii69 Actually the Mach's had worse cams than the earlier 4v Cobra's but the better heads and bump in compression made up for it. A popular swap back in the day was 96-98 Cobra intake cams worth about 15hp on the Mach.
@@tomdell9836 You're completely right, I meant to say heads not cams lol, obviously I'm not Einstein when it comes to naming parts😂. But yea the mach 1 was basically 2nd behind the terminator cobra being na and slightly more torqe then the na cobras with about both having 320hp.
The 71-73 mustang is honestly probably the most underrated mustang design.
I 100% agree. The 71 boss 429 Fastback is a car I easily would own
they are boats
Not that bad actually. Seen one in real life a few times in South africa (a place that has basically no mustangs other than S550s) first classic mustang I've seen and it's actually not half bad looking
Just started the video I better not hear any Gen 1 s197 slander Edit: I like you.
No one says they dislike the 05-08 the most. It’s one of the greatest looking mustangs ever.
It was a great return to Mustang's roots. Guy down the street has an '06 blue convertible. Beautiful car.
13-14’s didn’t get just a front end job they also got an update in the rear with the blacked out taillights and the black deck lid. Not to sound biased but probably the best liking rear ended of any Mustang and if you think I’m wrong just go look up what a set of taillights will run you! There are 3 Mustangs at the top imo not ranked in order but I’d say 69-70, the 03’ Cobra, and any model (except if it has a v6) 13-14’!
hey man, don’t shit on the v6, the upgrade from 12-13 made it a pretty good car (personal bias) but the ‘14 3.7 was my first car and i put over 300k miles on that mf until it died. plus i got like 36mpg on the highway
I've been watching Mustangs evolve my whole life, no matter what anyone says they are indisputably THE car that kicked off American muscle cars as we know them and because of that have a certain kind of mystique and cache that no other American car has, and Ford never interrupted production of them unlike some others. They all have their charms, even the anemic Mustang II looked better afaic than the first fox bodys, however all that being said I think my 2007 GT is the best looking Mustang since the original GT that it very much emulates, that of course is my own personal opinion, there are certainly better performing Mustang but I think Ford really hit a homerun with this model in capturing the essence of the original, same small block 3 valve V8, same solid axle, but with modern electronics really got every last horse out of this venerable engine. I love my car and they'll have to pry it out of my cold dead hands before I ever give it up;)
I have a 2005 gt on manual and a drop top, I saw your comment and got emotional somehow lol, these fat boys really make me feel goosebumps every time I get close to hop on it and makes me miss it every time I walk away from it, obviously braking my neck on the process, its so enjoyable and fun to drive god damn it, I do not care at all about those .2 secs slower on the 0-60 THE CONVERTIBLE ROCKS! I was able to bring a full engine from Vegas to San Diego cause with some towels to protect the seats its almost a truck!! Really useful and I’m not gonna bother saying how cool it is to drive “topless” on a nice weather and everyone looking at a nice piece of culture riding with such style and class… oh and the Mustang too!!
@@emanuelsandoval7470 I have such a love hate thing with convertibles. I think they are beautiful with their tops down and just not that good looking with them up. Where I live there might be 2 months out of the year where the weather is right for it and then it's either too bloody hot or cold but loving a car (just like loving a woman) has nothing to do with logic and rationality so if this is your fantasy ride just roll with it:)
I don't mind the sn-95's. IMO they're the 2nd ugliest mustang but they're not that bad. They're the cheapest to buy, reasonably reliable, and upgrades/replacement parts are everywhere. The 05-09 are easily my favorite.
Yeah SN-95's are decent for sure. I'm with you on the 05-09's too
sn95 gts are ugly I will admit. But 96-98 cobras are sexy as hell
@@horriblydi5figured470I own a 97 cobra 🐍
Weird, I actually really like the SN95 body style
I like a 5.0 sn95 alot.
Proud owner of a 71 mach 1 fastback. Smoothest ride I’ve ever had in a car. The styling is period appropriate. The whole idea of this long ramjet style 16 foot body was to market towards young couples who started having families. It makes sense too, the back seats can hold 3 people and can fold down for extra trunk space, about 5.5 feet of trunk space. Only downside is that backing this car out, oh man the fastback window using your rear view mirrors it’s like looking into a mail slot.
I agree. My GF's brother had one.
Completely omitted the 2012-2013 Boss? At the time of production Ford considered it to be the best live axel Mustang ever produced. Over the two years only about 8,000 produced. Very rare, very quick, and exceptional handling.
Omitted because of its rarity
Also omitted 03-04 Mach1
With a spare red key and quad exhaust...one of the best in my opinion as well
@@1realman205 you got that right. I have a 2012 in performance white. The trackey is a load of fun too. :-)
I'm so happy that he put the new edge in S tier, it truly is S tier 😊
All Mustangs deserve our love, even the Mustang IIs. Personally, I've got a 2006 GT, because (a) it's the closest thing (I can afford) to my Mom's 69 351W Sportsroof, which I still miss every day, and (2) it was the best combination of price and low mileage that will hopefully provide me years of trouble free driving enjoyment. It's pure stock except for the Flowmaster exhaust. Had it out today for an Independence Day drive for a few hours, man is it fun.
Thank you..!! If it wasn't for the II, there would be none others...ex(camaro)..!!
All except mach e
I just got my 04 today bro! I subscribed 🙏🏾 yo edits make me a fan! Keep it up!
Appreciate you man! Welcome to the Pony Club🐎
Thank you for your hard work!
The 13 and 14 had redesigned rear bumper and tail lights as well as a minor hp increase to 420. I have had 3 mustangs an 02 GT, a 13 GT, and now a 22 Mach 1.
You have 2 mustangs 😂
@@Cranberry__man he said Mach 1, not Mach E
Great video, very entertaining. 2015 Mustang GT owner. Looking to add a 08’ GT or a 14’ GT to my collection. I do wish you had included the new facelift on the mustang from 2013-2014 because that car looks way better than the 2012 mustang
owner of a 2017 V6 for about 6 months now, been loving every second of it🙏🏽
This is a highly entertaining and, yes, ARTISTIC vid!
BRO I LOVE THIS CONTENT SM NEVER STOP
That's the plan if everything goes well😁
Loved the editing for the vid❤
As a 5th generation enjoyer the stardust crusader intro music was an epic touch
Nah the unexpected memes are fire bro😂 keep it up
nice editing my man, laughed a couple of times
I own a vapor silver '09 GT Premium convertible 5-speed with silver leather. I keep it almost new car clean and it's a real head turner on the road. I get compliments on it on a daily basis whenever I'm in a parking lot getting in or out of the car. I love my S197.
05-09 is definitely S tier. Yes it's not as fast as modern cars but it's still one of the best looking and sounding Mustangs ever
As a 98 cobra owner, I can agree to this placement :)
Most iconic Mustangs imo are the 1st gen’s, 03-04 Cobra, 13-14 GT500, and the S550’s. 🙌🏽
A video about muscle cars with jjba themes as bgm holds a special place in my heart
Love to see new edges getting the love they deserve.
I almost cracked tf up at work when you said "Special Edition" with the short bus😂
hey man just wanted to let you know that the 03-04 cobra was supposed to have 390 from the factory but due to competition with camero they underrated the horsepower out of the factory on the dino stock they make around 420
I bought my very first mustang a year ago and it’s still my favorite car I’ve ever owned. What made me happy to see is the one I own is the New Edge Mustang that you put on S tier which made my choice for that one feel special. Overall I think it’s a solid list that I can agree with.
Ranking was pretty solid 🔥, I think we’d all be bias on ranking our yr car as well 😂
The svo mustang was a run from 1984 to 1986 and put out 205 in 1985.5 from a turbo 4 cyl and rivaled the gt model of the same years
Ford knew it was faster. That ran boost by gear. 15psi in first and 5psi for the rest. If they had 15 in all gears it was proven to be faster than the 5.0/Gt
As a Mustang Lover, I think that this tier list is absolutely fine
I have a 2001 mustang gt myself this is a great list
03 v6 owner here, they are definitely great at cornering and leave other cars from the same year in the dust.
This man’s editing is insane 😭😭
I think for the 83’ to 85’ fox body gt’s, you should have brought up that it had option for t-top. I own one, living in Florida and having it with a 5.0 is just a dream.
Someone showed love to the 3 valve mustang 🎉❤
Great job on this video!!
Thanks!
The editing was impeccable
race driver grid made me fall in love with the 07 gt-r
Having had my share of Mustangs, I'd say you did a pretty good job here. Would have been great if you'd highlighted the 2012 Laguna Seca/Boss 302, but other than that/Loved the video!
Glad you enjoyed!
Yes! In my opinion the 2012 Laguna Seca Boss will be one of the most sought after mustangs in the near future.
@@ljsites what’s so desirable about it?
@@thediamondlord8528 I think the 2012/13 Boss Mustangs will indeed be desirable, and seeing that 8,289 were made, and of that 1,564 were Laguna Secas. Special edition Mustangs are always desirable. The Boss, and especially the Laguna Seca is more than stickers and badging.
The 2018 mustang also introduced the 10 speed which was a big thing, it helped ALOT. tge 7th gen eco boost ans v8 got hp jumpa
Top notch editing chief
Thanks
I’d argue that the mustang got better with every update and redesign after the second gen without exception. Also, the mustang 2 had a unique front suspension design that is beloved in the hot rod and drag race communities. I think that deserves a mention
🤔 '94 - '98 4.6L were abysmal for someone just wanting a sports car off the show-room floor. In 1998 that lacky 4.6 V8 was rated at 215HP and the 3.8L V6 at 150 HP! Meanwhile, a 1998 Buick LeSabre 3.8L had 205 HP. They looked better than the previous gen, but this is when I knew why I was a Chevy guy. I know that they had their kick-ass Cobra packages and those were amazing, but still. That V8 was only 10 more HP than a cheap Buick V6 sedan.
Common W Carsmith Video. Nah but fr your channels goated your editing is high tier. I know this channel gonna pop off. Just became your 357th Subscriber 🐄🦅
Thank you so much! And welcome to the community man!
the mach E class made me sub
S197 is my fav. In particular the 13’ Boss 302.
Laguna Seca was a choice for me...!!
Agreed. Owned a GHIG Boss 302, brand new. Sadly had to sell d/t health. Amazing car.
@@acerimmer8338 Sorry to hear that, hopefully you’ve mended or on your way! Perhaps another day you can get a replacement. They are dam fun cars. I freaking love my 13’ race red!
My first Stang is/was a 6th Gen Ecoboost. So I'm pleasantly surprised. 😃
My grandfather had several vettes, but he had a 69 Mach 1 and an 03 100 anniversary mustang.
Its was kinda funny having stand proud play in the background
"Kinda"?🥺
I’m restoring a 66 mustang great video 🎉
How is it going so far?
People forget that you can swap a higher compression 302 into the gen 2 mustangs, I’m picking up a 78 this weekend and have plans to swap in a built 302, end goal of 400-500hp
I love the 1st and 4th generation mustangs ❤
I like how you have the last tier as Mach e
Back when I was born, as my mother was in labor and me being born my dad went out and got us a new 04 stang and it stayed with us till maybe when my youngest sister was born and he sold it for a new truck for work. At the time I didn’t mind the switch up of cars since I wasn’t interested in cars back then but recently I’ve gotten thoughts about how I could’ve had a stang as my first car. It wasn’t bad at all, a pretty fast convertible from the stories my father would tell me
That's awesome. I feel like one of the things that make Mustangs stand out from other cars is that it feels like everyone has a story about a Mustang. Whether it was them or someone they knew owning it. It's amazing how this car can bring people together like that. If you can, I would strongly urge you to get one. Maybe even an 04 so you and your parents can relive a little nostalgia!
@@thecarsmith Yea after watching this video, I pulled out my copy of forza 4 and popped it into my Xbox and instantly just started checking out my family’s old stang, building her as I remember back then. Drove it around and honestly I had lots of fun with it, sure it wasn’t me fully in the seat and driving it around town but it was sure lots of fun. Originally I was considering getting a RSX or maybe a lancer as my first car but owning 04 stang as my first car doesn’t sound bad. Like it was my first car to be in when I was brought into this world and to lose my First car viginity to it sounds like one hell of a great way to go.
I came from timktok, youre a talented editor and entertaining im subbing
I really appreciate that thank you!
Bro included all the OG homies in that RIP pic. I was gonna say the only one missing was Prince, but then I saw him. Good stuff man, really funny video and a solid ranking. The '69 Boss 302 IMO is the best looking Mustang and muscle car of all time. The '70 was a nice redesign, not too over the top like the '71. But the '69 takes the cake
2003-2004 also had Mach 1. Azure Blue is in INCREDIBLE color. Also remember that ford introduced Mystic on the cobra’s in 1996 but in 2003-2004 it became Mystichrome.
Foxbody also had the SVO turbo 4 cylinder and the T top and Roush , Steeda and Saleen started with these in the 80s
Should've did a quick highlight on the 04 mach 1. It had the shaker hood, the car looked amazing I miss mine.
Yuh i love my 95 gt last year of the 5.0😤
Do the Camaros, chargers or challengers tier list great video btw 😎🥸
I’m just happy my favorite mustang (71-73) didn’t get completely trashed on with a decent B tier. W list
You didn’t mention the best new edge mustang the 2000 Cobra R. 385hp from a 5.4 V8 track oriented version.
I loved this video, especially the parts he shows the mustangs crashing, I'm a mustang guy btw 😂

I do like memes and I also like cars and I also like yt nerds in conclusion im giving you 100%watchtime and a sub
I may be a bit biased, but the 1971 Mach 1 I feel makes the mustang of that time look a whole lot cooler, especially the fact that you could easily get a 429 in it. But like I said, I may be biased since it's my dream car.
id kill to have a 71 with a 429 man do I feel this
I agree man, I have a 71 and won’t lie it’s long asf, but mannn the body lines are beautiful but aggressive and that Cleveland is fuckin quick. For sure 69 is sick but 71 got a diff unique vibe to it
The boss 302 is just that underrated
My grandfather bought a Mach 1 70’ in red brand new that year. He’s mostly a corvette guy tho. Owned 4 vettes over his life. 3 stangs too.
Having the new edge in SS is absolutely based. The Terminators and Cobra R's were insane. And the best looking generation imo.
ppl that hate live rear axles are just peasants that cant afford good tires of upgraded lower control arms as a 2014 mustang GT owner you CANT change my mind
Poverty spec😤
As a 1990 GT owner, the later fox bodies were the most fun mustangs. You could buy them for cheap, the aftermarket was ridiculous for anything you needed, and horsepower gains were easy and affordable. I love the newer coyote stangs, but they’ve lost that “fast car for everyone” badge that the mustang was built on.
I cant agree more on this tier list
Me and my 03 GT are so happy rn
Ur editing is peak.
Happy to see the SN95 getting some love
I’m happy to see my mustang 07 S197 in the S tier. Love my mustang with all my heart
The mystichrome cobra was really just new design from the mystic cobra from 1996.
Oh shi I didn't know that.
@@thecarsmith Not a lot of people do, and if you look at them side by side they are extremely different. The mystichrome has more of a teal, blue, purple and the mystic has more of a purple, orange, green color. Best colors ford has ever made hands down.

The 2024 dark horse has a selection of braking modes and exhaust modes. It also has a selection of speedometers and interfaces.
Active exhaust existed before that. My 2020 HPP has those things...
As an owner of a Sn95 I’m happy with an A-Tier Edit: as a new owner of a now 2003 new edge the s-tier is where I’m at. The new edge looks so god damn good compared to my old 96 gt
Mach e you read my mind 👍
Ford was ready to have front-wheel drive Mustang made in Japan. Thank God that never happened.
I might be bias as a SN95 owner. But the 4th generation was the 94 Motor Trend car of the year and 30 year anniversary, 95 Cobra R 5.8l, 96 Mystic original, modernized interior/exterior, 2 different taillights, rear Cobra bumper, compared to the Foxbody, just a little heavier with 5 lug/4 disc brakes, First in a Mustang 96 to 98 Cobra all aluminum Teskid(Ferrari) block 4v hand built. Export rare versions, Saleen, Roush special editions. IRS 00 Cobra R, first 6 spd in Mustang, Terminators IRS and folding mirrors only came on export versions before this. Just to mention a few
first years of foxbodys came with n/a 4cyl with the gt turbo being a turbo 4cyl and the 85-86 svo also having the turbo 4 but the rest were just n/a
Very happy to see the new edge in s tier
