I wasn't. I put my money on Max!. He only lost to volk, and he barely lost. He looked good in those fights, and he also looked good after, being sort of a gate keeper. I didn't expect him to win like this of course :D. But I figured he could keep Justin on the outside. And in the imbedded series he looked like he actually gained some muscles.

At the post fight interview he may have said their legs might’ve gotten tangled, but he wasn’t sure. At another interview he was surprised when someone told him it was not ruled a knockdown. Whether it was or wasn’t, he still gave respect and credit to Gaethje.
I’ve watched it on bootleg on KZhead multiple times and it looks like Gaethjes punch is what made Max go backwards like that anyways. Legs tangled because of the punch but regardless, on paper, it’s sick that he’s never been knocked down 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Max is one of those rare fighters that are able to remain in their prime for a solid decade. Every time he fights he looks better, and he only fights savages. Belt or no belt he’s always dominating, Volk was his only kryptonite. What a career and he’s still young and never been knocked out.
He beat Volk twice especially the second fight dropped him twice. He did lose the 3rd fight tho

Seems like you didn't see the post fight press conference. They brought it up and the UFC wants to do it but Hawaii lacks the infrastructure. Also, Max said that he's okay with Vegas. It's literally nicknamed the ninth island because there's a big Polynesian population in Vegas.
Naw, stadium is under construction and aint no telling when it will be done. Also, ticket prices would be through the roof and locals wouldnt be able to attend….which kinda defeats the the purpose of having it in Hawaii.IMO. I know Max expressed this also and hes just looking out for his community.

The look on Maxs face the whole fight was crazy, his eyes were wide open and he was laser focused. From landing 15 spinnig heel kicks to the body (and the nose 😂) to the last second KO, Max just owned JG that entire fight!! Craziest 💩 ive ever seen 🤯

Left kick cemeta--WHAT?!") 4) Silva vs. Weidman (The most improbable) 5) Aldo vs. Mcgregor (Absolutely jaw-dropping surprise after uncharacteristic start) 6) TKZ vs. Rodriguez (Surprise elbow, last second) 7) Shogun vs. Machida (Standing KO vs. the Undefeated Karate Master) 8) Miocic vs. Cormier (Smaller wrestler/LHW champ KO's the UFC's most accomplished HW champ) 9) Etim vs. Barboza (most beautiful kick landed on a taller fighter who'd never been KO'd) 11) Uno vs. Penn (Championship-level fight, fighter gets obliterated by flying knee & punches) 11) Hendo vs. Bisping (Possibly most devastating KO to iron-chin)
