Friends - Brandon Leake

Hey Brandon, I'm a brown skinned Hispanic man 59, and I've been enjoying your performances. I say performances, because it's your delivery that makes them more than just poems. to be honest I just discovered you. I thought Barack Obama would be the man that would bring peace and unity to this Nation when he became the President, by uniting all people of all colors and back grounds, but I was wrong. I thought he was the perfect example to show how similar we all really are, because his mother is white and his father is black, and to deliver the message that you can do and become anything if you just work hard enough, but I was wrong. I was born in the year 1963, and was one of 7 children that my Mom raised by herself. I was second to the youngest, and by the time I was 9 she purchased her first house in a nice area of town, and taught her children to have faith in the Lord, work hard, and to have a good work ethic. In the early 70's I had a wide mix of friends from different back grounds n cultures, and I did not see them for the color of their skin, but the individual. Our Mother taught us the same virtues that Martin Luther King taught, to judge a person by their character and not by the color of their skin. I know that there are injustices in all corners of the globe, but I also have hope for a better tomorrow. Without putting too much pressure on you, I do believe you are just the person to deliver such a message. Peace! Geo

Hi Brandon. I randomly scroll across KZhead to find great music, so, I thought you were going to sing and that you did! You sung with a voice that was deeper than any music and you touched me. But, why wouldn’t it? You see, you are my brother because I love Jesus too. Somehow I knew that before you spoke the word Jesus. May God guide you into your future.

I would love, love, love to be your friend. To be able to sit across from you, over coffee, in a diner somewhere and just have a real conversation about anything would be a honor to me. You have a message. God gave you the ability to deliver that message in a very unique way. People study ancient philosophers now. It is my hope that a thousand years from now people will be studying Brandon Leake. You are definitely LOVED do not mistake that for fame. What you do goes way beyond fame. Like I said you have a message and it is very needed now.

You have such a great gift! Ur words inspire and educate those of us willing to listen and even some that just hear them. U bravely willingly open up ur soul and verbally take us on trip after trip thru ur memories, some good some bad. U teach us thru ur poetry and ur journey of discovery. I'm sitting here so dang sick Stage four Breast Cancer,6 years into the fight.when I first got cancer I said so what I buried three of my four children and my soulmate, cancer ain't gonna whip me.But I lied it has been a long six years truly but God's my best friend and I have all my faith in him I try be strong for the only child I have left.This morning I thought forget it I'm tired I'm not fighting anymore and then I listened to your AGT performance of Daughter.God truly shines through you Brandon.What a Beautiful Soul You are. I'm a 56 year old divorced white man and you are more like a twin closer than a friend in your mind and heart. It felt as though you were speaking the words I could, if there were only an audience to hear, still I look for someone that can truly engage in open truthful conversation. those people are as rare as we seem to be.

We are a lot alike. I don't have friends anymore and I completely understand being the mirage. I realized that it's mainly their fault. The morals and values that we share are the reasons. Most people don't want to hang around people like us because they can't handle our honesty and inner strength. They can't handle their truth and hate being reminded that they have work to do. We all do. I used to have so many people that hung around me but when I realized they were just taking advantage of my kindness and were mistaking it for weakness. I got rid of all of them. I have a hard time connecting to people enough for any type of relationship and I am pretty sure it's because I speak my mind so honestly without boundaries sk they hear the real deal and no one cares about the topics that are important in life like having a good relationship with God. They want to live in a dog eat dog world so we cannot coexist. I love the things you talk about and that you allow yourself to be you like I do. It seems like too many people don't allow themselves to feel or be human enough. Keep in fighting the good fight my courageously graceful brother in christ!!
