  • Something to consider is if the mousepad is affected by humidity! Artisan mousepads are not affected by humidity unlike the logitech and the zowie. This is big for people who don't play inside an air controlled room at all times because it will feel inconsistent in different environments (in a room without ac or in a room with ac). Some pads get super muddy in hot environments and if you take gaming serious this is something you should consider.

  • Solid takes, I have all of these pads as well. My main for a while now has been the GSRSE for Valorant, it is the pad I play the best on no doubt. I would suggest the Inked Gaming Pad for anyone's first pad for tac shooters. For BR's and fast shooters, as a first pad I would suggest the Hayate Otsu B mid if you have the money and if you don't I would suggest the Razer Strider or Aqua Control Plus (The white and colored variants are the same(The black one is the only one that is not heat pressed and they renamed it the Aqua Control 2 to reduce confusion)).

  • Thanks for your objective comments about mousepads. One suggestion for a video I would like to see: Talk a little bit about your desk! Things like optimal size, height, etc. Is for sure individual, but still, if you play with an XL mousepad, then there needs to be an adequate big surface somewhere. For exact that reason, I play with an M size pad and higher mouse sensitivity. Do not have a bigger desk ;-)

  • Agree that the issue with the G640 is wear. And the problem is it may not wear evenly. My first one became unusable for gaming, because it developed slower worn patches that felt like tugging on a mouse cable that had run out of slack. It's like there's a slick coating on the top of the pad that wears out over time. It would be fine if the wear was even, but in my experience it wasn't. It wore out pretty suddenly, too, I thought that I must have spilled something sticky on the mousepad, it was such a stark difference in glide speed. I do think it's a good pad -- I bought it again recently when I found at a sale price -- but you have to anticipate that it will eventually wear out.

Normally I find people's experience with them seem to differ so much with mine that I'm wondering if we're even talking about the same product. I used most of the pads in this video and everything is spot on, from the G640 having a break in period then being much slower but consistent for a few months to the GS-R being difficult for tracking and micro-adjustments and FINALLY someone else agrees that the Hien is difficult to control. • Ever try the Glorious Ice with their ceramic glides? I have a friend who has one of their mice with the glides installed with an ice pad and it seriously feels like you're using a mouse on actual ice -- virtually silent glide and it'll move even if you breathe on it. I tried it and while it makes tracking pretty effortless, twitch-aiming will require completely recalibrating your muscle-memory to stop overshooting everything.

The combination is pretty fast but still has some control and it now feels pretty natural to me. I love switching deskmats to accent my setup but they seem too slow and soft for competitive gaming, so this approach has been my weird solution.

  • I've had the G640 for a couple of years. I really like it. The edges of the mat are starting to warp--not lying perfectly flat. The friction is a little low for what I like, but I've adapted to it and it's just personal preference anyways. My favorite mousepad I've ever owned was a SteelSeries pad (I lost it when moving houses). The SteelSeries was ever so slightly thicker and had a tad bit more friction. Overall the SteelSeries pad just felt higher quality. All that being said, the fact that my G640 has lasted this long and is still in good shape, is impressive enough to me. I wash it every few months, which I think has helped it last so long.

  • things people need to consider too when getting mousepads is mouse-feet as well. Stock mouse-feet or corepads end up being the more "controlled" feet, whereas Tiger Ice ends up being faster. because of that, one pad can control differently, which may or may not make it better in most cases. • Old video, but my tip for cleaning a mousepad is simple (but requires you to have a backup). I have a desk pad which gets nasty over time since I do eat at my desk as well as have dandruff which clogs it up over time. Just put your pad in your tub and soak it, then use some dish soap and the soft side of a sponge to clean it. Rinse and repeat 2~3x times until it washes out clean. Rack dry it for a day. After that you pretty much have a brand new pad both in look and feel.

Been using it for 3 years personally and my friends, so far it's been great so we made a whole batch of them. Currently ship within UK but could sort out international shipment too. The rubber is made from sustainable limestone rock (instead of oil/petrol) which makes it more environmentally friendly than most desk mats out there. It's laminated with super stretch smooth nylon so it's mouse compatible and very gentle to skin.

It’s a pretty unique pad and probably suited more to apex and high tracking games but at a high price point for entry I’d love to see your opinions on it. I’m sure others are in the same position too. Either way appreciate the review. I definitely (surprisingly) prefer control pads.

  • The G640 has a coating so be aware of any moisture as that could gradually wear it off. The coating will also wear with time with everyday use and this will make the texture change over the lifespan. lastly, If you live in a humid area this mouse pad will feel like mud as the friction increases. Keep these factors in mind if your planning to buy this mouse pad.

    @fireflameft2964@fireflameft29642 жыл бұрын
  • First, credit where it's due, I greatly agree with your opinion on the logitech mousepad! As someone who's used the smaller, thinner version of the g640 for almost 5 years now (I've also used the g640, however I've found it to be too big for my personal use), I 100% agree with your points about it. However as I continued to watch the video, I have to say that I find your comments about the mousepads rather... lackluster? You made it a point to mention about the "speed" of the mousepad and how the "speed" varies in utility for different games, however you didn't make it a point to really describe what you meant by "speed". Personally I'm wondering if maybe you mean the smoothness of the mousepads. However in that case, would you be referring to the speed of your wrist/arm on the mousepad? Or force exerted to make the mouse go a certain speed? Another point I admittedly didn't really realise, was that this was a highly subjective review, as implied from the title. In which case I have to ask, would it be a good idea to recommend the artesian mousepads to highly? Of course I understand that some people come with the overarching question of "Ok, so what is a mousepad that you'd recommend?", however when being subjective with the review, does it not give your recommendation quite a heavy bias? Alternatively, I may have perceived the intention of the video wrongly, and you were trying to be objective about the mousepads. In which case I'm sorry to say but you made some pretty clear biases with your own experience, such as saying that the razer mousepad may be a lesser option that the artesian one when it came to a certain game (apologies for not citing exactly, as I'm typing this out on mobile). That advice was subject to your aim "style" and experience with games, although admittedly I get that you tried to be objective about the games. I have some more slight issues with the way you presented the mousepads, however, even I feel that I'm just looking for points to discredit your review. No. I can say that I've received some insightful information regarding the artesian mousepads, however I still stand by my points. I think there are definitely some improvements that can be made, one of which I think would be great for a subjective review is a visual pros and cons list. Your thoughts about the mousepads felt somewhat, scattered? I think a visual list would definitely make your points more concise. Small note, sorry for giant block of text!

  • I want to say that the glorious ice and air pads are good, as I have used both, but they only are good if your sens is extremely low (like mine). I run 1800 dpi @ 0.2 sens on CSGO so pretty low. I main as an AWPer and the extremely low friction really helps with flicks. There is an adjustment period, but I still would like to mention this, as he sort of glossed over them and didn't recommend them. These pads are very use case for extremely low sens players that flick a lot.

    @TheUnrealPancake@TheUnrealPancake2 жыл бұрын
    • @@idkwhatname3133 Maybe for you. Not for me though. Just because your experience is different than mine doesn't mean I'm "clueless". Like I said, there is a specific use case for the pad, and I find it works well for me. At the end of the day, each pad is down to preference. I gave my experience so that others like me, may look at this mouse pad and consider it. If you don't like it personally, that's fine. Also I'd like to put down that I've used many different mouse pads over the past 10 years+ including Razer's hard "control / speed" mouse pad, no mouse pad at all, many cloth pads, artisan pads, etc. I am saying what works for me and it will not be the same as everybody else's preference. I have always used speed / hard pads when available and so I'm very used to the feel precision a speed pad requires. I actually think that maybe you're the clueless one if you really think that speed pads don't have a use case especially with the extreme low sensitivity that I play on.
