  • I love that you are organizing your sock yarn while simultaneously throwing other yarn across the room 😂 that’s what happens when I organize ! It gets worse in one place while it gets better in another

  • As someone who started knitting initially to make socks, I too have a bit more sock yarn or sock-intended yarn than is ideal given I want to make garments now. I have lots of yarn but very little sweater quantities. It makes buying yarn hard to explain ...

  • Inge here, Inga 🎶 fr NW USA. This served to introduce me to sources for interestingly sourced yarn… breed and dye, on the one hand and how you see it aesthetically, comparatively and functionally, on the other. Thank you for the perspective! I wish all my favorite knitting peeps would each create a video on how to shop, learn and navigate knitting/fiber so we don’t waste money/effort and yet see how to nurture and hone drams! I’d like a map 🩵⛄️🩵

  • Hi Inge ! To prevent holes in the slippers - i bought liquid latex and made a sole on the underside. Made a pair for my mother and did not want her to slip. Works like a charm !

  • I think the super wash sock wools are more "icky" before washing, once washed and worn there are "smoother" and they improve the more you use them. You have so much yarn, that's impressive! Great video as always! xx

I went Gung ho knitting socks for everyone, and the gifted socks i knit for family eithrer shrunk in the wash or wore out in the heels. I have 3 unfinished pairs that are started and I have no desire to complete.

I wish I could say I used it as an opportunity to sort my own yarn stash, but I didn't 😆 I did finish my Little Cables Raglan, and also made some progress on a gift cowl that I've been working on. • I love the Mondim sock yarn, too! I use a contrast yarn for the cuffs, heels, and toes which has nylon and they wear well. Also, the yarn goes a long way. I used one ball for a pair of longer socks and still have so much left over! Going to Lisbon in a few weeks and am having so much trouble deciding which colours to get....they have a new navy with small white stripe sections which I really want!

  • You have a very beautiful stash of “sock” yarn 😉… I had a lot of beautiful yarns intended for “socks” and ended up using them for shawls, and striped child garments. They worked out great and helped me bust through my stash. I had a few that just DID NOT 🫣 look good as socks and it worked out great because my nieces and nephew received some very cute sweaters. Your yarns are all very beautiful and I am sure whatever you make will be wonderful!! ❤❤❤. Can’t wait to see what you make!

I was thinking “Oh, yes, knit that up next!” I do think it would make the most delightful summer socks to wear with jeans! You also had a sock set in a cream with a brown contrast (silk or mostly silk, I think).. I was thinking that if I had 2 sets of that yarn I would make a striped summer tee or tank top. It would look lovely at the beach! Thanks for the tour!

    • @@satsumamoon I washed them by hand, which is what is recommanded on the ball band. They stretched during wearing. I just put them in the dryer for a few minutes to felt them a bit, then they got back to the right shape. I must also add I am quite a loose knitter.

  • When you held the ‘Easter sock’ yarn up to your face, I was hoping you’d say you’d make a hat, it’s so bright and it looks good beside your face :) also I just love all those purple variegated yarns, I think they’re beautiful in the hanks though I don’t think I’ve ever seen them knitted up? anyways great video thank you!
