  • You look exceptionally beautiful today in this video. Your hair is gorgeous brown with the golden highlights and brings out your brown eyes with such an aura. Another viewer mentioned your makeup. I don’t know if it’s pregnancy, makeup, happiness or what it is…..enjoy your beauty. As a 70 year old, I realize, I never appreciated my beauty in my youth. Enjoy! I truly love your podcasts, too. Good luck with your pregnancy and Happy Holiday.

I find them inspiring, and just lovely, but this time, the end where you are walking through the snow, with the crunching sound, it filled my heart so much, we now live in the Netherlands, but have lived in the Adirondack mountains of New York and I miss being able to just walk outside into the wilderness. Thank you.

  • Hi Inga. Regarding the Shepherd's Wool yarn you purchased. It is milled very close to me (I live in Michigan) and I have used it often. They are no longer selling it to yarn shops and can only be bought directly from their website. It is considered worsted weight at 17 sts using a size 5 mm. The 4 ounces translates to 113 grams and 228 meters. When I need to translate from meters to yards (I use American math), a yarn shop told to me add 10%. This works in the reverse for yards to meters. Hope this helps. BTW, love the podcast and all the wooly things you are making. I also love your hair. The lovely brown with highlights goes so well with your coloring and I bet it will be so much easier to maintain when baby comes. Cannot wait to hear when she arrives.

Gift knitting has its ups and downs - I never feel relaxed knitting for others, not knowing if they'll really like it or if it will fit well. But I still keep doing it because I feel like it's one way to pass on some love. Lovely footage at the end!

  • I ha, thank you for videos and music concert at the end - they were absolutely stunning. And wow, you certainly have made a lot of gift knits and progress on your other knits. Your baby bump looks good on you and that precious little baby looks like she’s due to pop into the world any minute, I just made a bottom up colourwork sweater for my granddaughter’s Christmas sweater at her request. Groan. I must say, after slogging away from bottom op, and those difficult first few rows of joining together, the color work just flew, and boom. I was doing the collar. So that was the bonus, but like you, I prefer a top down pattern. I have yet to do a sock tube and cut into it, but you have inspired me to give it a go. Thanks for all the inspiration. Have a great holiday season and best wishes for a quick and safe delivery if Miss Nellie decides to arrive before your next podcast. I second the wish to have a review of all the baby knits, as a Nana who has knit over 1500 baby hoodies for family and friends over the past 40 years, I love to see what others have knit.

    • What did you do to determine where to insert the heel?

      @angrytrees7519@angrytrees75195 ай бұрын
    • @angrytrees7519 Hi! The way I do it is As I knit the tube, the top of the sock in my case, once I have the length of the top of the sock, I then place bulb markers on either side of the needle ( I use magic loop) for reference of where the heel will be. I also put a marker on the stitch in the middle of the row for where to cut into the heel. Then, I continue knitting the foot. When Measuring for the foot, say it's a 9" foot, from my marker, I knit 5", the heel will add 2" and the toe will add 2", which gets you to a size 9" foot. I hope this makes sense. I have also watched other tutorials on KZhead, but this is the formula/method I have used for my foot, and it's working beautifully. 😊

I have been eyeing that pattern for quite some time, but have only gotten to swatching it. It has tons of cables with a nice shawl collar. It would be beautiful in your yarn. • I appreciate so much how long your episodes have gotten! This weekend, watching your podcast was part of some lovely parallel "me-time". I watched your episode and knit and my partner watched a football game of approx. the same length. :D What great progress you´ve made on all of those gift knits! I´m almost done with gift knitting as well. Just finishing up some Angora mittens (sooo soft!) for my grandma and afterwards just one other pair of mittens for my dad left. That footage at the end of your cabin and the surroundings was stunning!

    • Both yarn and pattern are from "Ullveig", a norwegian small family business who raise the Angora bunnies themselves. Higly recommend. :)

  • Yes Inga you definitely influenced me to order Hillesvag unspun ( I got dark charcoal) after you showed it on your podcast - and I live in rural Australia so they absolutely do ship internationally. It wasn’t prohibitively expensive and didn’t take that long, a couple of weeks from memory. I also love Nutiden but Hillesvag has those lovely neutrals that Nutiden doesn’t always have so I love them both. Just waiting now for next winter - it’s 32 Celsius today so too hot for woollen unspun. I’m either knitting small fingering projects or cotton tops - the Trunk Island Tank by Beth Macdonaldstone . But it’s hard seeing all the gorgeous Scandinavian woolly knits on KZhead and Insta right now!

  • May I suggest an Aran weight cable cardigan: Alpenglühen by Isabell Kraemer. Her patterns are always superbly written, I can only recommend! And may I ask: as far as I remember you once made a colorwork tutorial (esp how to weave when you have longer strands), but I cannot find the episode! Can you (or anyone else) remember by chance? Have a wonderful Christmas time and an easy and healthy arrival for your little one, and a great first time for the three of you! ❣️

  • I agree about 1st projects being knot in the round, but I also like scarves knit in the round. Then they dont have to worry about decreases either. Then they are also setup for sock knitting too.
