Yeah, but sometimes its better to have multiple teams working the same concept..you'd be amazed at how often the slight differences & ideas of one team, can change the entire direction or flow..(or entirely new ideas!) In a project. The more input into a project, the more you push the envelope, and everyone benefits in the long run! Especially when it comes to making that project more mainstream, and thus the tech for it more available & likely more options opening up for the public to access it sooner! Im all in, for as many well qualified hands getting into Iron man style suits as we can get!
This actually can be put to practical use in a firefighting situation, where people need to break windows effectively, and the helmet can be used to shield the eyes from harmful light and smoke
We already have things like these that are way more practical then what hacksmith made. But the lasers and helmet are alot cooler than what we currently are using.
Too expensive and we already have more practical stuff

Did you know that, rather than putting a big laser in a big plastic box, (which breaks the rp a little) you could consider putting this laser on the Arc generator, in the torso, and connecting it to the palm of the hand with optical fibers. It would allow to launch discharges from the torso and from the hand. In addition, the laser is directly powered by the generator.
All this cool stuff they make that many still probably think hasn’t yet been invented is awesome, and it just goes to show how advanced the modern day is

hehehehe now that you have those you just need to figure out a way to keep your reactor ok in the chestpeice so it can help power your suit a little, and make some thrusters in the feet so you can at least jump highter and finish the full body suit. (then mabey show it to the military to say haha)
It would actually be pretty easy for you guys to make the entire suit. You can use the same files you used for the gauntlet to make the suit from metal.

Oh, trust me, the military has exhausted what they can do with lasers. They just aren't practical in any real sense. The atmosphere of the planet is functioning as a refractor, reducing the power of the laser. In a vacuum, or space, it would be at full power. On the flip side, you should look into what the various militaries across the planet have done with sound. It's terrifying.

I would love to see a targeting display HUD in the helmet that can work to dynamically change the focal point of the laser... I wonder what ranges might be possible.
Just thinking more on that... maybe with some different lenses combined with linear actuators would take care of the mechanical side of things... if the helmet could somehow interact and track with the users eye, AI software could determine valid targets in range?
What can't you use super capacitor charge it quick at 20000v dc to the repulsor that will give a blast equal to 5TNT.... But you need lot of heat sinks at the same time + coolants for rapid cooldown

i think its more the fact of the exo suit aspect as hydraulics are not compact and small motors aren't powerful enough. aesthetically its possible with some functionality. but a fully functional one no. even if the tech did exist would be unbelievably expensive.
