Real Arc Reactor (ionized plasma generator)

Is it real? Well, it's a real "arc" reactor that generates plasma, but as we explained in the beginning of the video, it's impossible to create a device that uses less power than it produces due to the Conservation of Energy, a fundamental law of physics: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conserv... (summarised as energy in = energy out + losses.)
When we charge the phone, it's just using power from the main battery. Plugging it into the house - also just a skit. Sorry to get your hopes up! But one thing is for certain - it's the most realistic arc reactor ever made - at least compared to the CGI one in the movie.

  • The nice thing about the arc reactor is that it could really work. And it's not because of some "free energy hocus pocus", it is because of the way it's built which reminds me of a fusion reaction. To be more accurate, it reminds me of a tokamak reactor. Which in theory should work (and they are still working on it) Just give them another 30 years and it'll eventually happen

  • The arc reactor has a built in feedback loop which is why it can generate that amount of electricity. But if that loop is not constantly sending power elsewhere it will get to the point where it will either overload and explode creating a small crater beneath it as well as destroying a few miles worth of destruction or someone will have to go in and manually release the energy in the form of an emp that would be able to shortcircuit and fry any and all devices that are within the estimated blast radius. So essentially what it is is nokola teslas tesla coil combined with the arcitexture of a particle accelerator along with a self recharging flashlight.

One of the only problems i just can come up with in the back of my head, is that you would (like strange matter) need a so dense material that the influense of the quark cannot get out in other forms of energy, just like neutron stars.

Doubt you'll see this comment, but if you do I highly recommend looking into them! On a somewhat related note: I'm working on a concept for a functional, scaled-down Quinjet. I may use the plasma actuators as a "virtual barrier surface" above and below the wing-mounted vtol fanblades. This would allow air to pass smoothly over them without turbulence.

    @jadencarollo3602@jadencarollo36023 жыл бұрын

  • I think something many forget is the Arc Reactor is more like a particle accelerator made small. The initial one in the movie the big one, looks like its actually directing plasma more like a fusion reactor in a way. There are a few in build in Europe, issue is handlingvthe heat and containment inagnetic waveform field. The final version Tony makes seems to accomplish this but some how not cooking himself internally. I figured he created a super conductor like magnetic field that channeled free ionized energy just in the air or broke it down from atoms nearby. This could maybe be a radioactive core. A lot of theory think on its application. The concept here is an interesting approach, seems impractible without better material used. Radiating yourself is a cool call to avoid.

  • This is pretty cool, but I think you missed a key element to this project, u need an electro magnet. Magnets can hold an electric charge and essentially become a battery. You could actually achieve this build but don't forget Tony stark built this mini arc reactor to stop shrapnel from entering his heart. That's important to remember. So, if you use an electromagnet in your design your reactor would hold the charge rather than having to take it from so many 'tasers'. The electricity would travel around the arc continuously even once your removed your power source. Basically you'd charge it up once like a mobile phone.... im teaching myself quantum physics and mechanics to figure it all out haha awesome video tho guys

  • There's a rule of thermodynamic law, if you generated strong ionized plasma the higher the energy the more likely it will melt things around it and need to be cooled down as energy generates heats. The reason why power plants so big is basically for generating such things need a lot of voltage and cooling system. So unless we discover new material from space that has very cold properties to contain it in small space and a material that could be used as fuel but comes in tiny size then considered it done. We get discomfort when using old laptop on our lap for too long because of the heat so even if it was possible the discomfort of having fusion arc reactor on your chest won't be a very pleasant experience

  • It’s actually not a perpetual energy machine because it’s shown in the background of the scene where Obediah yells at the head scientist there is tons of palladium in the background and iron man had to switch out the palladium in his suits before upgrading to whatever the new element is which I also assume he swaps out every now and then

  • I supposed you could emulate an arc reactor like this much simpler with an automotive ignition coil (12v, probably more compact to use motorcycle style), and having the Arc Reactor copper coils as conductors so the arc bounces from one conductor to the next, then encasing the whole thing. Instead of trying to make individual arcs between the points, which should slim down the whole package.
