Great video👊
That sad to see that Yoshihiro Takayama is paralyzed. He was an absolute stud. Good on Don Frye and other for going to visit their for opponent / friend.
He was kind of gangly and awkward though, not surprising something like that happened to him.
@@ckobo84 how does that translate to having a stroke
Good thing he has a good woman to look out for him
Probably because of this fight. Jeez.
How he get paralyzed
Don is a gentleman. Takayama later became paralyzed from the waist down in an accident and Don visited him in Japan. Don told him when he was recovering in hospital from an injury he thought of their fight because it made him feel alive. The video of that meeting in the hospital showed the mutual respect between two warriors in a literal sense.
That beat a mike Tyson fight anyday
@@ismaelherrera3976it was a war. I’m always ready to see a war vs a one sided ko.
Isn't it that he's paralyzed from the shoulders down? That's seems relevant
I get chills when I see a comment like this. It’s beautiful to see when someone can take two different cultures & appreciate them equally for their individual merits. Both these men battled for honor within their own cultures and because they battled for a few, the many honor both of their sacrifices. There is no beauty in battling. The beauty comes from the reaction from us, the people that honor their individuality as men. 🙏
Don had 20 Back Surgeries. I’ve had 2 Spinal Surgeries and let me tell you I couldn’t imagine having 20. After one of his back surgeries he left the hospital then collapsed in the hospital parking lot from having a stroke which resulted in the doctors putting him into a coma. Glad he is alive and doing ok after all that.
I agree. My husband has 2 neck fusions, then an achilles injury that was brutal and took a long time to come back from
They had a fight that will outlive them both; every fighter should be so lucky as to have such a defining fight; they’re legend; pride never dies
That was a beautiful tribute to both warriors !
Seeing Frye in tears while visiting Yoshihiro in hospital made me tear up.
Me too, Don might have been a beast in the ring but has a Heart of gold, Yoshihiro was a true warrior. Both legends.
Greatest MMA fight/beat up of all time, hands down.
Damn powerful warriors. This video brought me to tears.
If you put a lot of pressure on a diamond, it'll eventually turn into Don Frye's face.
👍
6:22 Wario
It's really impressive that Don kept fighting after literally dying to Takayama's knees. It takes really heart to keep going after you're dead.
I loved that part, the ending was very sad however
Dead? What are you talking about? No one died! Do you know what the word "literally" means?
@@tjred3995 apparently you're deaf or watched the video muted. That or you don't understand humor.
Thanks for your video and the insights
It's very sobering to see the toll taken of the bodies of both Frye and Yoshiro from having so many grueling matches throughout their legendary careers.
💪 awesome video thanks 😎👍
I don’t think a single person in any weight class in the UFC today could come close to knocking the predator out. He might not be as technical but they don’t make humans this tough anymore.
THE BEST fight EVER your comments are the best I have heard too. Thank you. Both fighters: Great men of Great Character
A great video, I like how it was presented.
That scene with Fry sitting by his bedside nearly made me cry😪
sad to hear about takayama s injury
Don’s wife left him, but Takayama supported him after he was put into a coma. Then, when Takayama became paralyzed, Don went to visit. Combing this, with their fight. You couldn’t write a better movie.
This has to be in the top 5 best fights of all time!
This vídeo made me cry . Beautiful tribute
Both are legendary!!! Yoshihiro Takayama ended sad, good luck my man!
They don’t make Don Frye’s anymore… that model has been discontinued. It proved to be highly volatile, extremely explosive, & downright dangerous.
Two steep fighters, with a very tragic story
No one can take a beating like that and ever be the same again! The body can take enormous punishment the the brain will never be the same!
So impressive !
That fight was brutal,it took years from both mens lives.Tuff men
That takayama frye battle was a launchpad to Pride's success. I suppose it was inevitable that Takayama would sustain serious injury in the end
Amazing ..real men, full respect.
Absolutely a battle of attrition
Don frye my favourite mma boxer, he looks like my Dad, he reminds me of my dad, Don frye is powerful, what a proud respected fight, the end was beautiful, 2 great powerful men. 🤛 💪 🦋 🐝
Who's the guy at 0:05 in the black dropping elbows?
Absolutely tragic. No man deserves that fate...
Wow. Brutal
Has anyone else noticed the word narration in so many videos, now? Like they were poorly translated.
So much respect 🫡 ❤for those great warriors Love n peace ❤
This crazy
Legends says all the Arch Angels and Gods of Destruction stood on this fight.
Brutal MMA
True sportsmanship.
Legend, nothing else to say.
Don Fry is dope. No doubt about that.
Goddamn warriors. Both of them. ❤️💪🏽
Great video. Not sure the narrator understands the definition of "literally".
Watched twice...still don't know why "Fight to the Death..." is in the title. Clickbait?
Showdown of real gangsters😎😎😎
Damn the ref was taking a nap in that second clip! Dude took at least six elbows to the jaw after already being knocked out! Old school UFC was wild.
Doctors checking Takayama at 4 minutes; "You dead yet, Chubs?" After seeing this very impressive display I'm surprised Frye's career tanked.
Warriors with respect
Two tough men
Yoshi had the fighters spirit but don was in his prime
Man thoses punches in the face was so acurate and looks painful!
good luck yoshi . a warrior .
Don is just an Unbelievable fighter ffs if he would've been born a thousand years ago he'd be remembered as a King... just on face value ofcourse, to many variables to say for sure but my opinion is untouchable due to the fact that it identifies as A fact 👌
Who that fighter like having brocken neck in the beginning?
Don fryre be like: im sweating gimme water
r. I. p Yoshiro
Both got paid extra to stand and beat each others up and dont go to the ground.
Like this video but its clearly written by AI some of it makes no sense
WWE most brutal sport but no one get injured seriously wrestler built different men
Omg I remember that fight Even then the other pride fighters were like wrh is going on.they just kept bashing eachother
I admire japan guy, what a sad story
The only thing missing to entertain the audience is to kill your opponent….and they say th ancient Roman gladiator games were bad….the audiences in those days haven’t. Changed much from the current. Crowds.
It's a human thing, we're a violent and destructive species.
This is what MMA would look like if wrestling and BJJ didn’t exist
Takayama is usually a heel
C'est bien taper faire mal
Magnums best Fight
Dont say literally when its not literal. That sucks
the voice over makes my head hurt, ruins the fight, unwatchable crap
This vote was for the past
C'est sauvage. Ça n'a rien à voir avec le sport.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Japan asked for it.
Takayama has lion king hair 😂 and no fighting skills how he get in professional fighting
Nice sport.Really???Who pay to watch this??
they punched each other in the head for like five thousand times. Both never go down and one hasn't a mark on him. What does that tell you?
Takayamasan
CLICK BAIT!!! FIGHT TO THE DEATH!?!?!?! WRONG!!!
MYSELF AFTER BEING EJECTED FROM A CAR AND IN A COMA & BACK SURGERIES WHY DO PEOPLE WANA FIGHT ? KOOKS ARE US MONEY ?
