    • He was kind of gangly and awkward though, not surprising something like that happened to him.

  • Don is a gentleman. Takayama later became paralyzed from the waist down in an accident and Don visited him in Japan. Don told him when he was recovering in hospital from an injury he thought of their fight because it made him feel alive. The video of that meeting in the hospital showed the mutual respect between two warriors in a literal sense.

    • I get chills when I see a comment like this. It’s beautiful to see when someone can take two different cultures & appreciate them equally for their individual merits. Both these men battled for honor within their own cultures and because they battled for a few, the many honor both of their sacrifices. There is no beauty in battling. The beauty comes from the reaction from us, the people that honor their individuality as men. 🙏

  • Don had 20 Back Surgeries. I’ve had 2 Spinal Surgeries and let me tell you I couldn’t imagine having 20. After one of his back surgeries he left the hospital then collapsed in the hospital parking lot from having a stroke which resulted in the doctors putting him into a coma. Glad he is alive and doing ok after all that.
