Fun fact: The director of this movie gave Ryan Reynolds a stack of deadpool comics and said read these. In those comics deadpool says "I look like Ryan Reynolds if he was bit by a radioactive dog" the rest was history
wesley sounds like a bit of a diva and Ryan steals every scene. it could get annoying.
Why Deadpool though he's suppose to be Hannibal King completely different.
It was specifically a Shar-Pei, and that's why in the movie, he says he was bitten by a radioactive shar-pei
@@carlosrivas1629it wasn't that he was just a diva, despite the new actors and crew said. You read between the lines on all the stories and you see he was contractually obligated to be there, but didn't want to be after they not only tried to reduce Blade to a background character in a Blade movie(it was him acting the way he did that made them put him in the movie as much as he is), but they also heavily reduced his role behind the scenes. He was no longer consulted for choreography, which is why it's lacking, and they seriously tries to use the franchise he and the previous crew built up, as a vehicle to spinoff for the NightStalkers. It was messed up around.
@@adambump5297 Its because of who was playing him. When they got Ryan Reynolds, they made King more comedic due to how many comedic roles he had.
Speaking of Snipes embracing a role, you should do Demolition Man. He looks like he's having a blast in that movie, and it's having a bit of a minor renaissance right now, given the times.
Phoenix, Simon Phoenix
Agreed, the way the two characters are totally opposite to each other but he just SELLS the character each time is incredible. the dude has issues but he also has some serious acting chops.
I thought Purcell did a great job. He wasn't evil for the sake of being evil. He was a warrior from a time when mankind collectively had a much more, "kill or be killed" mentality. He was also an individual who cared about the prosperity of his species. He lived by a code of honor and he had respect. I don't know about the comics. But in this, he seemed like something of a reflection of Blade himself.
I mean...he did throw a baby off a rooftop hahahaha
Well, kill or be killed, and honor, his code doesnt have to meet the typical humans when you are the progenitor of vampires@@cameronfair2397
@@cameronfair2397we all have bad days
It wasn't really his performance that was the problem so much as his appearance. He looked more like a henchman than the last boss.
Purcell should learn how to do a good American accent...
How could you not Win the scene of the little girl telling Drake "My friends are coming to kill you" when he offered to make her immortal?
Yeah no D.C. as the original vampire was not a miscast imo, its also one of the few neat things that the elder vampire absolutely despises what vampires have become( sort of similar to Alucard from HsU ) in how complacent and preylike they have become in their dominance and instead he gives props to blade the one who is still the predator and reminds him of how vampires were in his time the hunters and feared.
I think Nostalgia Critic, for once, nailed it with his complaint about Dracula in this movie: he doesn't look like he's Dracula, he looks like the bodyguard of Dracula.
I find it kind of funny that for all of the friction on set it seems like Snipes has gotten over it somewhat after his appearance on What We Do in the Shadows as "The Daywalker." Also please cover To Wong Fu. You mentioned Noxeima Jackson so it's mandatory now.
I love this trilogy. Let's hope the new MCU version is good. Trinity introduced me to Jessica Biel and she was definitely my celebrity crush for a long time.
Worthy celeb crush. 💯
Oh right she wasn’t 18 in 7 Heaven
@@TheBandit025Nova And? We're not talking about 7th Heaven.
@@Highonwater3X Sorry
Not a patch on the first two but trinity manages to be a great guilty pleasure. The backstage politics ruin the movie’s integrity, snipes looks annoyed throughout and Reynolds steals the show because he’s the only one having fun. The film has its moment for sure and surprisingly has a good amount of replay value. Blade Trinity is the literal example of the third chapter of the trilogy is the worst entry in the series.
Man, watching Lost In Space, I completely forgot where I recognized Parker Posey from. And then you do this movie, and BAM. I remember EVERYTHING about her character from this. Down to the way she quivers her lips when she talks, her character was perfectly portrayed.
I love your videos because they're positive and fun. No ironic cynicism, or negativity. Something really lacking in KZhead videos these days
Agree man has everyone enjoying movies in a different light.
This was my main reason I started gravitating towards him vs cinemasins their content now is just cracking jokes and not even calling out what the movie lacks.
Not only on KZhead unfortunately...
I’m SO tired of everyone thinking they’re a critic. I wish more people grasped their personal likes and dislikes aren’t the yardstick anyone else should measure things against.
Quality Channel! Always Great n Entertaining Man!
I love Blade Trinity, it gives me one of the best memories of my dad being a great dad, so happy to watch a video talking good things about the movie.
As an archer I want to say that sense a bow has a set poundage, technically, the speed of the arrow should be constant. Now if you told me a bow could be “warmed up”, I’d say that makes sense. Keep in mind my experience is limited to a 45 pound Recurve and I’ve never clocked my arrows sooo I can hardly be take a confident stance. That being said, I *believe* my Grandpa had said that you could increase the poundage of a Compound. So maybe it was cutting out her tweaking it.
Yes, the draw strength as well as the release power can be tweaked on a compound bow by adjusting the spacing and tension of the pulleys. Stronger release also means harder draw but it's a balance the archer has to find for themselves. Having the smooth nock-draw-release and tuned bow to send arrows out at NASCAR/Formua One speeds just sends home that Abby is a master with her chosen weapon just as Blade is with his.
It isn't exactly constant, as a bow, while designed for a certain draw length, can function at other draw lengths. The weight of a bow is supposed to be a certain poundage to draw it back a specific distance, more weight will draw it back further. Some bows are designed with smaller tolerances, so overdrawing might be very dangerous, but some aren't and it'll be fine as long as it's only a bit extra. The weight of the arrow will also make a difference, as a longer arrow with the same diameter will obviously be heavier than the shorter arrow, and will take a bit more oomph to move at whatever speed the control arrow went, but a thinner arrow might be able to act as the appropriate grain weight arrow, and with the extra ft-lbs (lb-ft? one is torque (force), the other is linear (force), and I always mix them up because it super doesn't actually matter as long as you know if you're doing rotational or linear) it'll accelerate more during the release, meaning it'll start off faster. Air drag is always a thing in air. It's very close to constant, but not quite. As for compounds, yeah, you can change out the springs and string and make it higher tension, but most designs will want the arms to only be as strong as they need to be for the weight they made it, because it'll be cheaper to make, so you might break it if you didn't go fancy on the main body. There's only so much engine you can put in a car before it twists the frame apart instead of moving the car.
Parker Posey hamming it up to 11 really was great wasnt it? Also THANK YOU for acknowledging how good the score is.
It was the GoT, HotD dude isn't it?
@@SteveAustin-zv1nn yup! Ramin Djawadi. Suuuuper talented composer.
@@fazewick8729 Yeah I thought so. Guy is amazing. I can think of so many great examples of his work in GoT. Red Wedding, adding piano music for the first time when Cersei blows up the script etc.
Now that there’s even a video game about blade coming out, I REALLY get a different sense of hype
Blade was great in Marvel's Midnight Suns.
Clearly you never had a PS1 or PS2 as a kid. I had both games on both consoles. They were horrible.
I loved Ryan Reynolds in this franchise. It really felt like a predecessor to what he's now doing in Deadpool.
It just shows how he plays the exact same character in everything.
Lol probably true
@@bethanychatman9531yeah
I was in the military -> AIT to be exact, when blade trinity came out. We students of course had nick names for our drill sergeants. Ya got lead DS Herman Munster, DS Imhotep (though ours would get a “their workout routine” win) and the weekend after their premiere -> the man the myth the legend DS Blade. Hand to god a few weeks later he brought his little daughter to final formation and kept us locked at attention while she followed him around asking “up? Up? Upie??” Picks her up and cuddles her as serious like and says “couchie coo...” loud enough for us to hear. WE WERE DYING!!! DS Arthur, wherever you are you are an awesome BA!
The main thing I know about this film is that Snipes was high for the entire production and would only respond to "Blade".
In all fairness, in his position I'd do the same thing. So would you - be honest now...
I had never geard he was "high" or on drugs from any of the other actors, only the answering only to Blade and being upset about creative choices being made.
Ryan's performance in this is what made him my choice for Hawkeye before the MCU was born he would have given us a great comic accurate Clint, a smartass with a quick wit and mouth. i include this movie in my "Deadpool" watch sequence, it gives us a look at a Prototype, the early Wade in Wolvie Origins adds the swords etc to it before we get Oh hello,
Thank you for your positivity and sharing your love of movies!
I’ve binged all of blue eye samurai and it is so damn good. Solid 9/10
What's great about this video going up is that a new Blade video game was just announced at TGA.
i pretty much agree 100% with everything you said. was it fun? yes. It was the weakest of the three, and the order from literal "vampire god" to "dracula" seemed it should have really gone in a different order, but the movie was fun in a peak 90's- 00's sort of way and Wesley Snipes was pretty much the Ferdinand Magellan of comic book movies. Now please do To Wong Foo
I have the three film collection, I been watching blade sense I was a child...never gets old!
Yyyeeessss, FINALLY! I know I'm like the only person in the world who likes this movie, but I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for you to cover this ever since you started doing the Blade movies :D Thank you so much! As always, your unique brand of positivity and joy that you bring to everything you do really brightens my day, my week, my month, etc. Things have been (And are continuing to be) pretty rough lately, and I've been turning to your videos a lot to help keep my spirits up as I work through things. I can't tell you how much your attitude and way of doing things has helped me; I really, really appreciate everything you do. You're an absolute inspiration to me, both as a creator, and as a person. And I don't know if I can come up with a more sincere compliment than that. All the best, -NB P.S - Also, watching this just reminded me that seeing Ryan shirtless was the moment that I realized I was bi. So, y'know... There's that.
You’re not alone!
Hey NB, I hope things get better for you. Hang in there.
Hell yeah!!! Blue eye samurai next week?! I can’t wait, favourite show of the year
This is my favorite Blade movie. Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Biel, Triple H, Heat Wave from The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow as a demonic looking Dracula. It’s awesome!
Come on man, really? Take a look at the first two again
I'm with him.. Doesn't mean I don't know the orginal is an objectively better movie.. And the sequel has that del Toro magic.. But somehow this is still my personal favorite
Mine, too! Never mind the comedy of Ryan Reynolds, the smarm of Parker Posey, and the goddamn raspy heartbreak of Natasha Lyonne. Those are all great but Jessica Biel’s hero shoulders made me weak in the knees! Love Abby, and she became the standard by which I judged all action hero women. Short of pro fighters-turned-actors, very few have lived up to the Biel Standard. No shade to them, they’re just roles. But my benchmark remains unwavering.
"Jessica Biel's workout routine!" Amen, brother, amen. 🙏
The actor for Dracula is an absolute stud
About the bow. Compound bows are weird. Regular bows get harder to pull the more you draw. Compound bows are mechanically designed so that the weight is at the front of the draw. That is, they become easier to pull the more you draw. So if it makes sense for any bow to do what you were explaining, it's a compound bow.
Thanks for the Blue Eye Samurai recommendation, I loved it.
Parker Posey is the Queen. Worth the price of admission.
Hopefully the new game coming out does Wesley Snipes justice thanks for covering the series
"HELLO MY NAME IS" FUCK YOU! is a win... and i won`t back down on that ... ever !!!
I feel like this video is in the right time with the blade game get announced
Great video like always love you channel have a great day❤
im begging you could you do a video on one or both of my favorite movies : -the perks of being a wallflower -freedoom writers please do if you can i love them
Hey! I actually worked on this movie!! (VFX) One of the first projects in my career. Just like you, I was HUGE fan of the Blade franchise, and was beyond stoked when I got a chance to work on this! Unfortunately I have to admit it wasn't great. Especially compared to the first 2 movies. Surprised you like it this much. I did like the opening sequence a lot though.
The part where Blade tells Jessica to USE IT!! Has always stuck with me
Same.
3:05 not really, as long as you keep a firm grip you are good. they even make shotguns without a buttstock that are specifically meant to be hip fired. hipfiring one with a stock is actually easier just because the stock is extra mass to absorb recoil.
HOW DID I FORGET NATASHA LYONNE IS NOT ONLY IN THIS MOVIE BUT MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IN THIS MOVIE!
9:00 traditional recurve barebow for life!
I unironically love this movie. The first movie was an instant classic. But Trinity is incredibly fun. It's a good time. And Ryan Reynolds is the best part of the movie.
14:44 that frame of Whistler driving the semi truck with a grin on his face seems like a callback to his lead role in the movie Convoy
i know is a unpopular take but i really liked blade trinity
It’s the classic “not a good movie, but very entertaining”
I remember going to the vamp lair set in high school for Youth Council, only to move into another set with the Stargate in Atlantis. It was so cool
If you're doing another TV show, I'll throw Arcane's hat in the ring again.
I'm so excited for your episodes of Blue Eye Samurai as soon as I watched it myself I was like "holy shit Lee would love this, ugh I wish he did TV shows" and my dream is coming true, I can't wait for all the 'Kenneth Branagh is always a win' moments
I don’t care what anyone says blade trinity is definitely my favorite it never fails to be entertaining
Get well soon 🤞🙏❤️
The Return to Oz reference had me screaming!! So glad I'm not alone.
Great timing😭
Hiya, I am once again for like a year now asking for EGA The Old Guard. Great movie.
Taking this movie is was an interesting challenge. Kudos to you.
1:00 The dude on the ground spontaneously combusts because they forgot about him and just had to roll with it and arbitrarily kill him right then
Been a while since I shot a shotgun, but I think that if you are holding the slide and fire it from the hip, you can use the recoil to rack the slide, reducing the recoil on your arms as it's being turned into mechanical energy.
Hi CinemaWins, just wanted to thank you for videos as well as say that another marvellous and wicked movie is Bad Times at the El Royale. It's a long movie, don't get me wrong, but it entices you to uncover the truth to the mystery. Hope you have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year! 😄👍
While it's far from being the best Blade movie, it's nowhere near as bad as many people claim, and my only real gripe is how badly they handled their take on Dracula. Oh, and that they killed off Natasha Lyonne too soon. THANK YOU for covering it, and helping everyone else to see that it really is ok to not hate this.
Thank you for doing the Blade series! But are you going to do Blade the Tv series!? Love your work
OKAY Now you are 1000000% obligated to do To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything Julie Newmar!!! I adore that movie! And from what I've seen, the guys all had a blast making it and are still proud of it. And come on, watching THE Blade running around in heels being fabulous?! What's NOT to love??
Fatal by the RZA, might be my favorite needle drop of all time.
I watched this a while back, getting ready for this video. I expected something worse from the film and I ended up pleasantly surprised, although I'm not sure which ending I saw. A perfectly serviceable film with a bit of early 2000s DNA that doesn't ruin it more often than it does. Drakeula was weird but fine I guess. Should get to watching that "Blue Eyed Samurai" series and getting ready for the next video (also "Barbie"). Until then, keep up the great work, stay safe, and take care!
Ahhhh Ryan Reynolds. Come a long way from x-files, the Sabrina the teenage witch movie and two guys, a girl and a pizza place.
Omg, which ep of x files was he in? 😮

"Motherfcker, I like that" is another Blade movie line I quote to this day, it's just so ridiculously funny to me
I forgot RR was in this movie.. also that him and Westley didn’t get along.😮 I’m excited for your review of blue eye samurai
You forgot hannible kings pointing the gun at the secretary and saying just don’t
perfect time to post these with the game announcement
Nomak will always be my favorite Blade villain, and I hardly see him as a villain. He was more of a pissed of "man" on his own mission that just happened to intersect with Blade's.
Love that you are talking about Blue Eyes Samurai, also, Scorpion is way better with his Spear/Chain😆
Your channel is the Perfect balance to cinema sins.
I was a huge Blade-head after the first movie, but the 3rd one fell so flat for me at the time, despite REALLY WANTING TO LIKE IT. It's nice to hear that I probably wasn't crazy, but also remind myself that there are things to like
Add a win for the McBarge being a cool and eerie set piece.
i loved this movie back then and i still love this movie today... why, because Ryan Reynolds and that vamp lady... that i can never remember the name of....
I'm so happy to have found this video! I love this movie so much! My only major complaint is that Dracula was a box of saltines and a glass of water when the movie deserved a Dracula who was a bag of Cool Ranch 3d Doritos and a bottle of Surge.
YES, I’m so glad you mentioned the fact that the Reapers were a failed attempt to re create Dracula, I think that fact is overlooked in this movie and the trilogy as a whole because so many don’t care for this movie but I always saw the over arching plan for the vampires was to be Daywalkers with Humans in capri-sun bags, Frost tried with La Magra, Damaskinos got halfway there with the Reapers and the goal the whole time was to replicate Drake. Gotta give Goyer credit, he had a tight story in place for these three films
Finally!!
The universe has given me a dope birthday gift
This movie is where I learned the word and meaning of "wedlock"
Mr. CinemaWins, could you kindly do "Dead Poets Society" (1989)?
8:17 in scene When Wesley/Blade says "Use it." to Whistler I'm not sure if he means "Use It" as motivation for revenge, "Use IT" meaning use 1 of her weapons to kill Sommerfield before she turns, or a mix of both.
Dude rules. End of story. 🔔🔔🔔🔔 YES! It's such rush when younger folks (I'm 62, so, yeah 😁) acknowledge the greatness of country music giants ala "The Highwaymen", as a whole, and Waylon, John, Willie, and Chris individually. We just lost another "outlaw" earlier this month: RIP Toby. I'm sure the others in *that* choir welcomed him aboard! Thank you, dear! 🤗
I love your videos! I recently watched Godzilla Minus one and would love to hear your thoughts
Since there's a new Garfield movie coming out, could you do "Garfield: The Movie" (2004)? Apparently everyone hated it, but I grew up loving it. So much so that I honestly can't hear anyone but Bill Murray as Garfield, or at least someone with a similar tone.
You missed the best part about Abigail shooting her arrows. She broke a camera during the filming of that scene.
I love this movie IDC. Ryan Reynolds is so great & loved Parker Posey
Blade is the perfect trilogy. The fist is the iconic beginning, the second is the big-budget high point, the third is the weakest but ties up the story arc with a genuine finale. And it does at least try something different, it doesn't just rehash entire plot lines from the earlier films. It does come off as try-hard attempt at cool, but that was how things were in the 00's, but it's still fun. Blade II is still my favourite, but Trinity does the mindless, fun action film perfectly fine and I do enjoy watching them all together as a three. And it was my introduction to Ryan Renolds. And yes, teenage me had a notable celebrity-crush on Jessica Biel, and in part for that workout routine and I make no apologies for it.
So you've done Blade, now. You going to do Underworld? Because I love those movies, despite their many, many flaws.
Please do Return to oz. Mombi and the wheelers were insane.
What are those support structures you are using? They make the project look so well made
The second one is my favorite because of del toro
The egg reference made smile
“Have you tried the lobby” was the greatest joke Ryan told in the whole movie.
Huh... The ending i watched was different, it was a long time ago but there was an ending where blade woke up on the autopsy table and escaped, with Hannibal king narrating that since there were no more vampires, Blade went to sleep, waiting to be needed once more. The last time i saw the movie was when i had it on a disc with the previous movies
Surprised at no mention of Jessica Biel allegedly breaking a $10k camera with a legit well placed arrow
Da king is back baby he neva miss
5:15 naw, this was what Mr.pool was doing BEFORE he joined the military.
Excellent Quote, "Wesley Snipes Is Blade"! Couldn't Agree More With That Quote, CinemaWins!
You should review How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). I just rewatched it after 23 years and honestly there is a lot to unpack there
