The Future of Counter-Strike: The Story of m0NESY

2023 ж. 26 Там.
370 000 Рет қаралды

m0nesy was supposed to be the next s1mple.
The young prodigy’s pro journey started on Na’Vi Junior - and he resembled the GOAT on the server and off so much, it seemed like a future playing alongside him as teammates was the logical next step.
But m0nesy decided to forge his own path - and before long, he began to look like the real future of Counter-Strike.
This is the story of m0nesy.

  • m0nesy is probably the best pugger the game has seen. I feel like G2 isn't making good use of that. Are teams really able to punish insanely skilled and aggressive individuals like m0nesy? My theory is that if G2 puts all their marbles on m0nesy, they will have a Vitality-zywoo situation. I think if G2 really want to step up to the next level, they should cater to m0nesy's play style completely.

    @royk.9347@royk.93478 ай бұрын
    • bruh the difference between aleksiB led m0nesy and hooxi led m0nesy is night and day. hooxi definitely calls to let m0nesy and niko go kill and do what they want. m0nesy just isn't anywhere near as consistent as Zywoo, and i say this as a 6 year long G2 fan.

      @frierency@frierency8 ай бұрын
    • No, they are. They're catering too much to that, which is why G2 can simultaneously have the highest ceiling and lowest floor in Tier 1. The problem with puggers is they aren't consistent and can be easily exploited on the macro level. It may be hard for teams to directly out-duel m0NESY, but plenty of teams have countered him with utility and positioning. He's fallen innumerable times to a Mirage Mid crunch or a Brackets explode or an Ancient A exec, etc. And the power of utility is multiplied against AWPers who essentially have zero way to fight pop utility or reaggro. They need to give him freedom, but within a system so that everyone on the team is on the same page. No more asynchronous pushes, hero plays that don't pan out due to poor trading efficiency and poor positioning from teammates. That gets you games where NiKo or m0NESY drop 40 kills and G2 still loses. G2 are playing too much like a pug, hence why they're insane individually but worse than the sum of their parts together.
