I like the contrasts between both of them. Valentina is more agressive and straightforward meanwhile Grasso is confident and calm. Both great attitudes for a champ. May the best win!
Im sorry i have to disagree .. I do love Valentina , but to say Valentina is the aggressor Im not so sure , she has made a living counterpunching , if you look at her fights she normally waits for her opponent to open up. The only difference here Grasso is big enough to absorb the her counteroffensive , hence the fact Valentina wanted to wrestle because Grasso was hurting her . A lot of Valentina's criticism is that she is boring to watch , because she is NOT aggressive enough. Again she waits for her opponent to attack first .

Both have a lot of pressure going into this. Valentina trying to reclaim what she lost and Grasso wanting to win this for Mexican Independence Day for her people.

Main thing I don't like is that Valentina is not seeing the 1st fight clearly. She says she made "one mistake" throwing the spinning back fist & that cost her the fight. The real question is...why did you feel the need to throw that spinning back fist? It was b/c you were getting caught with hard shots & counters in the stand up. I've been a big Valentina fan, but I don't like the fact that she hasn't acknowledged this - or been forced to acknowledge this by her coach.

The standup by Herzog was disgusting. Val worked so hard to get into that position and she had just postured up and landed a big shot, then Herzog decided to give Grasso a chance to not take anymore ground and pound. A few more shots and Val would have knocked her head through the canvas. Herzog should not be in the cage.
Dont let Val fool you. Lay and pray is going to be her strategy

I felt that Valentina shouldn't have gotten the decision against Talia Santos in her previous fight. To me that was the fight that showed Valentina losing her edge. Even if she wins this rematch it's hard to imagine her ever being viewed as invincible again.

Valentina won that Santos fight pretty clearly. Santos had way more success than previous opponents so it skews peoples perception. Nobody is invincible and so nobody should be viewed as invincible. Staying on top for a long time is hard to do. Lots of pressure and the challenger has nothing to lose.

Well females have very limited to no testosterone to begin with and other important hormones and things that go into allowing a person to be an athlete at the highest levels. So at 35 years of age you RARELY see females especially able to compete in sports and why many retire around or before that time, except rare instances like maybe cyborg who clearly is different and able to use steroids which she was caught for and also has always fought low level competition besides nunes. I think Valentina is right at or near the end and I wish the best for her but Alexa had age and in the 30s for a woman a few years can make a HUGE difference.

I think Valantina was narrowly winning that first fight. I think she is going to come in to this one taking Grasso very very seriously. I have no doubt Grasso is training like there is no tomorrow. I think this is gonna be an amazing fight. I want Valentina to win, but it's hard not to root for Grasso as well.
That's how I felt the first time watching it Live, but I just rewatched the fight last night and I had Valentina winning every round. Watching Live it felt like 2 Rd fight, but I realized it was 4rds! I love both these fighters, but as a Hispanic as well, I cannot root against Grasso 🎉🎉

@arizonacolour8793 I have not rewatched it, I'll have to check it out again. This fight is definitely gonna be interesting. They both know a lot more about each other, so the big question is who made the best adjustments? Grasso seems like such a nice, approachable woman, and ah, oh btw, she is an MMA champion for the UFC.... She just looks like such a "girl next door" as she walks along. Valentina has always been super-competitive, full of muscle. You can tell she's got some ego. It's not shocking to hear that she's a professional fighter. I think valentina's ego hurt her in this last flight with Grasso. It's gonna be really interesting to see, and she checked herself.

Wasn't a fan of Grasso until this episode. She carries herself very well and all statements, whether if scripted, were delivered like she meant it.
This could easily go the way of the second Nunes and Peña fight, with the dethroned champion coming back stronger than ever and retaking the belt, or it could just as easily turn out like the trilogy fight between Usman and Edwards, with the former champion unable to bring back the magic they had before and losing a second time.

Grasso has power in her punches she stunned valentina in the first fight but at the time she wasn’t focusing on power . You can see grasso doing mits with big ounce gloves turning her hips flowing with combinations. If she could cover the kicking distance and box valentina she could drop her . Mean while UFC fight is gonna be with those 4 ounce gloves and in Valentina’s footage you can see her popping that head kick at the end of her combinations , she knows Grasso stands with a high gaurd. She and her coach know that was something that was right there for her the whole first fight . There intent is not to like ko Grasso with a headkick but constantly touching the shin / foot on grasso face and forehead. Its Gonna be Great Fight .🔥

Yea and by doing so it opens her up to body and leg kicks. I'd also not even bother with that spinning kick if I was her bc we saw how that played out last time. Just sharp short and straight striking the first round or two then as Alex gets tired throw in the other stuff to change the pace

Grasso is in for the fight of her life. Even more so than their first fight. Anyone can win on any given night, but the best of the best not only defend it, but defend it definitely; the same way Val has done before she lost. Grasso is great, but she about to fight a monster and an angry, motivated monster at that in a few days.

Nahhh, VS is lol. A hit V more in rd.1 than Taila did in 5 rds and Amanda did in their 2d fight. AG came out in rd 4 and cranked it up on VS, and.she was gonna do the same in rd 5 as VS was Fn gassed early compared to AG. That came about from getting hit early and not being able to control her even on the ground, spent alot of energy while doing no damage. AG never stopped regardless of what position she was in and I can assure you she worked on that takedown defense. A great fighter can adjust mid fight and AG did that and stuffed the takedown, what now for VS?. On their feet AG is stronger, hits way harder as VS felt the sting early and is alot stronger than people think, ask VS. Her workouts are 2d to none, alot of power and.explosion movements with intense cardio. For VS, is she too stubborn in her ways and years to acknowledge what happemed and it wasnt just that spin and can she break the routine in her training in order to improve? Thats the question we are gonna find out soon because if she cant take AG down and do damage she isnt beating her on her feet, no way. So......there s a major problem that exists for VS. @@leelunk8235 the fight will be in Vegas, T Mobile Arena and I got the tickets from vet tix with a total of 4 tickets. The tickets are free, all I paid was the handling fees of $14.95. I researched the ticket cost on Ticketmaster and the tickets I got were 75 bucks each. Not to shabby.

I have a ton of respect and admiration for both fighters. Despite their distinct personalities, they're both excellent role models and it's very difficult for me to choose one over the other. The rematch is shaping up to be a barn burner and I can't wait to see it. May the best woman win.
When Grasso started round one, I could see right away Alexa had trained hard. I saw a Grasso more disciplined, more in control than I’d ever seen her. It was a real pro level fight. Alexa earned that belt. Win or lose, Grasso will give us a great fight again. I wish her just enough luck she needs. The rest is gonna be skill.

As dangerous as Shevchenko is, I have to say that after the Taila Santos fight, and then getting finished by Grasso, the aura of invulnerability around Bullet isn't quite there like it used to be.
I doubt that Grasso can beat Valentina a second time.

Tbh I don't think Valentinas head has been in her training as much as it used to be. For the last couple years her social medias been more like vacations, personal appearances, traveling, and basically building herself as a brand and kinda coasting on her abilities vs keeping them ever sharp and growing and her last two opponents have been able to expose that if you don't let her find her range and set the pace she isn't nearly as dominant as she used to be bc frankly (imo) she hasn't been training for those hard grinding fights anymore, just trying to do the basics
