So...Of course that was the moment when I decided to finish myself off with squats on smith machine. Kept ramping up the load with every set, noticed a guy looking at me from time to time from his station nearby. During the last set, on my way down I understood my mistake. Managed to exhale 'tooomuuuch', got a bit squashed at the bottom, managed to recover on 'sowing machine legs' just to realise that this guy was on his way to my station to help me just in case I'd fail. I thanked him for being on standby for me :) THAT is the gym culture I want to propagate.

What an awesome video. Something similar just happened in the gym yesterday, a girl was doing exactly the same exercise and I noticed she was struggling a bit, so I just started moving toward her and she couldn't get the last rep, so helped her with the weights. She wasn't recording (haven't seen anyone record in our gym) and she was very grateful for my help. Saw her again this morning and she thanked me again for helping her yesterday. I've been going to the gym for years and most people (guys and girls) are just regular, normal people who are focused on their routines; in fact, I didn't even know this whole recording yourself was a thing until I came across videos on this channel.

So true about a healthy brother/sisterhood culture at the gym. I work out regularly at my gym and I frequently see the same people every day and we respect and support one another. Not a lot of chit chat. Just good, hard workouts. We'll see some new techniques and maybe try a few, without someone thinking we're gawking or ruining their shots if they're recording (but I have to say, we don't get a lot of people recording at our gym...it just doesn't fit in with the majority of people who are working out there, at that time).

I've had people react badly when I offer a spot if they're grinding but still going for more so I just await the inevitable and then help out. Feels weird to me, my ego is hurt more by having to do a roll of shame or dump the plates off than by just asking someone for a spot, but maybe im the weird one with that.
watch from a distance = being a loser creep in todays world. nah, ill pass. my days of being helpful are long gone. too many aholes out there. one gets themselves into some stoopid BS at the gym, its either on them, or someone else can handle it. ill stay sigma.
@@Gizziiusa I just take the risk cause I know Joey got my back lmao, it’ll be so funny if I ever show up in one cause they couldn’t be further from the truth if they think their ass is what I’m looking at, watch that form gals AND guys
You're an inspiration. Thank you 🙏🏾
Gave me the chills... thanx for posting, bro.
Yessir. This is quality gym culture right here. As always, thank you for highlighting these stories as well as calling out the negative 🤙🙏🫡✌️
Agreed Joey, it also makes the whole gym experience nicer for everyone including people who are just getting into fitness. 👍🏻
I loved the laughter after!!! I also love his very very very slow approach just in case she needed his help. Very cool to see.❤
Props Joey Swoll. Keep doing what you're doing. You helped motivate me to get back into the gym.💪🏋️♂️
Joey, you’re just a solid person. May your life be filled with happiness
Thank you, Joey. 👍
❤ thanks for highlighting the positives as well as the negatives ❤
Love this ❤
Great video and a nice start to my saturday. Thanks Joey!
Refreshing to read all the positive comments about the camaraderie and life-affirming events (no matter how small) that can take place at the gym. Thank you, Joey, for promoting these aspects in your shorts & videos.
Thanks for what you are trying to do here. I have been going to the gym regularly for about 10 years now. I rarely talk to anyone, as most people have ear buds in and can't hear anything. I mind my own business and try to be better.
Love this
Yes! We need to be humble. I ask people how to do things every once in a while. Real gym culture is a brotherhood and sisterhood, like you said ❤
Awesome!!! Great stuff!
Good for you joey, it can't be easy seeing all the negativity coming out of the gym, especially when you're clearly so passionate about it. Nice to see a positive story and seeing how it clearly makes you feel good too. Respect.
I loved watching that!
That was so cool. Love that.
I lift by myself. Always have, always, will. I train heavy one week, light heavy the next. Sometimes, on heavy week, I go to failure on my last set of everything. There have been times that a " Ghost Spotter" has bailed me out. I always say thank you and give the fist bump.
Great video, I really thought he was going to have to get involved but credit to her for pulling that out the fire. Kudos to both.
When you treat others with respect, good people are always ready and willing to help.
The gym community will always be the best community to be in where people support others around them and eventually becoming brothers and sisters ✊🏾💯
Love!!
She may very well be a Unicorn in today's society because we never see this happening. I hope these two people remain the rare and wonderful human beings they are no matter what the world throws at them.
Great gym right there!
It's important to post these videos too, these scenarios are overwhelmingly more common than the negative ones
Love it!
amen brother
You never know when you may need it or they might
and This is the channel that should have a MILLION subscribers.... show this man ALL the love... he deserves it..
I think that's the first time I ever saw Joey smiling. That's great.
You’re very cool Joey! I’ve had 4 knee surgeries & people like you motivate me at the gym! Your ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in my book for your positive motivation!
I’m always like this I’m not staring at anyone in the gym but if I see someone continuing when they are close to failure I move towards them just in case they need help …. So seeing someone else doing what I do just to make sure people don’t get hurt is amazing to see
I love this
Praise the gym family
we need more kindness. Its free and makes you both feel good. Free good feelings
Respect.
Man, my gymbro boss/friend introduced me to your content Joey, and I am super happy he did.
True positive attitudes in the gym, bring this back now please.
I love it!
She's super strong and he's the kind of spotter u want all day 💯❤💪
How it should be! Enough said.
So So True
well, that's how it works in my gym. No narcissistic behavior. Only regular people having some fun. I also love all the chats I have with those people there. I don't even know the name of most of them. And still we always have some conversations between the sets.
I love seeing support and courtesy like this in the gym. W
that looked like a good set 💪💪💪
i think its just as important to highlight the good in the community to remind people its not all bad and to not give up hope. ways to fight off the negative while reinforcing the positives.
I LOVE this. 👏😘
I love that he didn't jump straight in, but still kept a watchful eye to make sure she was all good! LOVE this video! More of this please 🫶🏻
I betcha he is so thoughtful that he would have asked if she needed help before jumping in. Her attitude also has a lot to do with the friendly interaction. Loved it.
@@linebrunelle1004 agreed!
Hey Kings and Queens you drop this 👑
wholesome as hell!
This is how it should be❤
that was awesome
Joey swoll is awesome
I needed that Joey smile at the end
I just joined the most popular gym in a small community. I’m 55 yrs old and I’m starting with a trainer. I pray there will be people always on the lookout. I’m probably gonna be the one to need it. ❤️
I love that even though that man was looking at her, she didn’t start calling him a creep. She knew that he was just worried about her and she appreciated it. Even though that should by all means be normal human behaviour, I still like to see it.
She is a good one ... protect her at all costs. She was going hard! Much respect !!!!
again. at all cost. your life? your family's life. ALL COST.
Love to see it I’m usually the dude giving the spots so I understand it fully, no shame no shade just helping each other battle in the arena
Bro got that contagious smile at the end of all his good videos
Perfect
Just look how he, gradually gets a bit worried if she can handle the weight and approach to step in, in case. I applaud him . This is what most men in gyms does. They have your back and do not want anyone to get hurt.
respect
Amazing video!! These videos should be more popular than "creep" one!!!
Joey, I have decided that you are our modern day Superman - good all the way to your core! :-).
God bless them all
Just ask for a spot when benching. It is the safe thing to do. Good set. ❤❤❤
Thats how my gym in Londonderry is. Everyone is whating out for each other. Thats why I love it there.
I've been using commercial gyms for over 40 years. They are awesome places, with awesome people.
