    • @@madtabby66 I suggest also looking into stretches. those helped me a lot. I'm not talking about the mini stretches for warm-up, rather the 30-second tough effective stretches that are hard to get through but the moment you're done you immediately feel better but they're actually for long term. I had to learn the hard way that stretches actually *train* the muscles too just like weightlifting/power excercises do just in a different way, while the latter is for muscle width stretches train for length. It's not easy work but helps - look up stretches for hamstring, hip-flexor, pancake stretcjes figure-4 stretch lat-stretch and side-stretch -- don't do all at once start from one or two do just 1 set of 20s of that one for starts is a good place to start and work your way up to 30s then increase sets to 2/3 later. For me I prioritized the hamstring stretch and started with that to help with my kyphosis+lordosis since you want to train knees I'd look to do 1-2 sets of a 30-second hipflexor stretch(start with 15-20s if you're inflexible like me, that's how I started and work towards 30s) it's a really basic stretch but it's one of the best.

But I've also seen guys get the "lunk alarm" blasted for accidentally dropping a weight from 2" up or asked to leave because they were "harassing" a woman because they asked her if she was going to be done with her set soon. I now see commenters on this video say stunts like this are exactly why they don’t want to go to a gym. I am now of the opinion that maybe cameras should not be allowed in gyms or gyms as private property can control if pictures or video are allowed and if not, those members not following the rules should be kicked out immediately, membership cancelled and banned from the premises for good. • Most leg curl machines are somewhat awkward. That man was me two days ago. It took me trying 4 different leg curl machines just to get the right one. My torso is long and my legs are on the shorter side. The video 📷 duece bag could have mined his own business or helped the guy adjust the length of the machine. If it's necessarily beneficial I would have referred him to a leg machine that is comfortable to his height or leg mobility.

    @Taylormademan900@Taylormademan9008 ай бұрын
    • That machine back needs to be moved forward against his lower back. The adjustment above the knee needs to be pressed against the quads to prevent him from sliding

      @rogerm3708@rogerm37088 ай бұрын
    • Leg machines are adjustable with motion and leg length. This man didn't set up the machine correctly. He could have brought the padding lower and tighter so he wouldn't slide up with every rep. He also could have brought the bench part better up on his back. The pivot part should be at the knee caps. The man should go slow and steady and use the full motion. Ideally would be 1 second squeeze rep and slowly releasing it down in 2 seconds. He will get less reps but a more productive workout. Going too fast can risk injury. I have this type of seated hamstring curl machine at my gym. I actually prefer the laying down machine. I think it works better but I switch it up at times.

  • This is exactly why the varsity and Olympic athletes trained in the "Dungeon" (that sounded like a pig farm because of all the grunting and it smelled like one too) at our School . FYI that exercise is good for inducing growth hormone. My left winger was a 260 pound line backer off the varsity football team and he ran flights of stairs with 60 to 80 pound dumb bells for growth hormone to anaerobic failure. First time I saw him running the drill I told him "no need to kill yourself to keep up with me and George. Your job is just to beat the shit out any one that tries to hurt me. " (It was back in the day when hockey was a real mans sport) I started doing heavy legs (extensions, curls and a single leg press on a machine in the gym designed exactly for that purpose) as fast as my joints would let me until cardio failure and gained almost 10 pounds of muscle in 5 or 6 months. My explosive strength went through the roof too. Kinda funny that dumb ass has no clue what he is criticising. Should post that on his site.

  • I've been going to Planet Fitness on and off for about a decade. My mentality is, that while it's only 10$ a month, they have the equipment that I need, but not the equipment that I want. The one that I frequent is quite literally spitting distance from one of my jobs, so it's actually difficult to not go after work. I learned early on that I don't like the people that frequent the gyms in the morning hours, so I typically go in the dead of night. Sometimes, however, I do end up there after a long day of work, at the exact time I don't like being there and it always sucks. Sure, I can get a good 1-2hr pump in, but my god. All of the guys in the morning think they're "swole" so they wear string-tops, and all of the girls wear shorts that are so short and tight, that they crawl up their butt with every step (not that I mind that). However, the guys just sit there and ego lift in front of the mirrors, and the girls are blind to the other 80% of the gym that isn't a Smith Machine. I see elderly folks in the gym all the time (not that he's elderly, the people I see are just much older, so I use them as an example). Whenever I see them, my first reaction is "I hope that when I am that age, I am still going to the gym." I couldn't care less about his form, or the intensity of his workout, or the validity of it. The fact that he is there, at that age is enough to keep me motivated. On top of that - some people know this and some don't...but going to the gym is contagious. You put yourself in the position where you know someone who goes to the gym, and you hang out with them enough, and eventually you'll find yourself going to the gym. Likewise, when you hang out with someone enough, they too will catch the gym-bug. I've been motivated to go to the gym by family, by friends, by relatives, and I've never once told them how grateful I am,... likewise, I've got parents that want to go to the gym with me, because I've done for them, what someone else did for me. That being said, I will legitimately go to war if I took my mother to the gym, and seen her in one of these videos. I would legitimately take a week off from work, and stay at that gym 24/7 until that person showed up. Then I would put them in the hospital - male or female.

Most people also have under developed hamstrings to begin with so it is also one of the toughest for them. Here's how I have learned to help people in the past when I see someone struggling. In order for them to not feel singled out, I act like I'm going to use it next, when they get done, I say hi, give a smile, tell them I love this exercise but I struggled with XYZ in the beginning but learned to and now I love it. They'll walk away thinking I'm just a weirdo or ask questions. Then when they leave I will do one or two superficial sets.
