The Royal Giant has been a very polarizing card in Clash Royale history and has had many problems that go far beyond balancing issues, which has caused Supercell to make drastic overhauls to different aspects of the game. Expecting a nerf, this video was postponed, but with the developments of evolutions and other shifts in the meta, it's unlikely that will happen! Here's the entire crazy history of this once mid-ladder menace!

  • The problem was the very high punishement cost of misplacing/mistiming a building. If you failes, you may have wasted up to 5 elixir for nothing. So while it was not a problem for competitive players, it certainly ruined the day of lower arena players. This change was perfect , as it not only fixed the timing problem, it also made connections with it decent enough to warrant a new playstyle at higher levels.

  • IMO that's probably their most perfect balancing of a card, making it decent in top ladder, without being menacing in mid ladder, it luckily escaped the faith of the ebarbs and the wizard

  • During RG hell, I remember being carried so hard by the royal giant to the point that I ended up loving the card more than hating it. It's so simple but so fun to use anyway.

  • Seems as though, overall, this card has gotten a happy ending. One rework turned it from a polarising card that was completely useless in competitive but overpowered in ladder into a perfectly balanced, healthy card that saw good use in both competitive and midladder without being overbearing in either.

  • Is a video on card evolution something to consider? I'm curious to see your perspective on it since it probably could've been a great addition to the game had it not been for level 15, Elite Wild Cards and Supercell's new hyper-monetization approach with updates like the pass "rework".

  • To be honest the truth is there is one card that is objectively broken as hell with it having 0 counters and only way to beat it was to use it. Especially these days this card is becoming so meta that it can almost be considered mandatory and that card is the infamous Credit card

  • Your videos always make me think back to my highschool days when I would play this game a lot for most of it, how excited I would be for updates, the discussions I would have with my friends about it, how angry I would get over losing a single match, how toxic I used to be, and I just want to go back in time to tell him to take it easy and enjoy himself, be more outgoing, don't care so much about what people might think about you, and to not play so much Royal Giant, cause it's toxic and annoying

  • Something wrong with "A broken card in mid ladder makes it balanced if its not broken in top tier" is that sometimes thing counter it. for example quagsire in Pokémon in theory it should be mid but people love to use it and it does counter some of the great mons in its tier (at least in some earlier gens) if one dealing huge single target damage is good in top tier then tanks will fall and swarms will rise.

  • Fun fact: A military version of the game (a big plagiarism) had made its own version which was literally a combat helicopter (yes he fly 🚁) which could fire from 7 tiles. The card is present in half of the decks, the other half being practically only the military version of the hog rider (a jeep)

  • Guys i have a theory. In his description it says he has only played clash royale. So lets say gratz is... idk 24. And clash existed for like.6 years. That means that gratz has not played video games fot 18 years. Then he must have done something fot 18 years.. there is like 3 options. He has trained to get the most satisfying voice EVER, He is SUPER religious and has spend almost his entire life with god or what I belive. He has been working out and he is super jacked
