  • Hey, student in 3d animation here. Regarding your last question about the time it takes, I think that it takes a decent amount of time. I'm pretty sure that the character models are downloaded online, and same thing for the animations of the characters. I also think that small assets like the mop, shampoo bottles are downloaded. However, all of this has to be animated and rendered, which still takes a significant amount of time. I'd say that this can be made in around a week or less by a single person. Hope this helps answering some of your questions !

  • Hi CG artist here chad chad has a really good point. They re-use animations a ton which would save them loads of time. Most of the animation is pretty simple key frames on location and rotation. The animations they use on the characters are preset animations that they found online (which is why they only vaguely fit what the person is doing in the scene) these still take some modeling and texture work but could probably be churned out by a single person fairly quickly.

  • hey! 3D animation and production major here. things like this, if produced by one person, can take hours, even when reusing assets. HOWEVER, it’s very likely that there is a production team somewhere in the middle east that can produce these things by the dozens. it is really common, even for western animation and media, to commission middle eastern companies/teams for models and animations that are small enough that you wouldn’t notice them (ie pipes, books, brick textures, etc)

    • It's actually a chinese trend. Some real estate companies started to commission these over the top crazy scenarios (like the tiger or the lady dying) on their 3d advertisements for property renovations so people will make their videos viral. There are a lot of sleepness nights. And you also need to be curious about a lot of things, from art to engineering to psychology to sociology and much more. And our field of work is very underappreciated, since most people think design is easy. All in all, if you have a thick skin architecture is a lot of fun. • VFX artist here! I’d imagine this could be made in something like Blender, which is a popular open source 3D program. I use Blender myself, and stuff like this is very simple to make if you’ve got some experience. It’s possible in addition to finding the models of the people, they also bought a collection of home interior objects so they don’t have to model everything by hand. The camera movements are also super simple, shaving off even more time. One of the other options for time saving is if these are done in Unreal Engine which is real-time. That way they don’t have to worry about waiting ages for these to render out. Taking a second look it does seem like this is a possibility based on just the overall look (which is terribly vague but over time you get the ability to roughly recognize different render engines, big nerd energy). If someone asked me to do one of these it’d maybe take a couple hours the first time around, but once I had some assets collected they could be turned around faster and faster. You two absolutely rule, also.

  • Animator/3D Generalist here! Regarding the production process: There are a lot of resources online in which you can get free or cheap 3D models. Generic stuff like "adult woman", "alligator", "bathroom", etc. etc. There are also resources in which you can acquire animation that you can just apply to your rigs (characters), such as generic actions like, in this case, boxing. I'd guess that these accounts are just taking these models and animations and mashing them together in a 3D software to create the most jarring concoctions and draw in them sweet, sweet views. Hope that helps!
