One love feeds the fire
One heart burns desire
I wonder, who's crying now
Two hearts born to run
Who'll be the lonely one
I wonder who's crying now

Steve Perry’s voice is a gift from God.
Steve Parry was the best
That guitar solo. 🎸🔥🫡. I was born in 89. I hear music today and listen to music back then and there's no comparison. You HAD to have true talent back then. And this group was flawless.
I always loved the solo on the record, I didn't like much the part he ads here in the middle of the solo, it takes you away from the beauty of the melodic original solo...
Best of the best absolutely
Absolutely
Neal Schon was a master in his time
No ear pieces, No auto-tune, No huge production, no backing tracks...just Musicians playing Music.. Actual skill and talent
Sir.. they are wearing ear pieces. They actually serve a purpose.
@@faeriehaus8835 They are not. You can't lie to me because 1. I was at this show backstage.. 2. My father was a roadie for Journey on this Tour. None of them used ear pieces. During this time, it was incredibly rare to use ear pieces anyway.
@@JonHop1yeah and my mother is the queen of England
@thatboy9937 You trying to say being a 70s n 80s roadie(which had 10s of thousands of roadies during this time), is the same as being Royalty?
Best rock group I've ever had the pleasure of hearing and seeing. Best of the best. Awesome. Can't beat journey never
Who’s loving this in 2024?!! ❤
1984, 2024 and always. 😊
I'm the one who's crying now because I was born in the wrong generation. God, what I would give to see this performance live. So iconic. Neal Schon's guitar solo literally brought tears of joy to my eyes. Such a timeless song that makes you feel either amazing or melancholy depending on your relationship situation. Love it 🔥
I am nearly 60 years old and if the original band members would get back together for a final tour, I would definitely be there for it. They were a true super group. They will never be topped.
Saw them in 1978 at Oakland Coliseum in California along with AC/DC Cheap trick BOC and Nugent! I can still picture Steve Perry signing " LIGHTS_ .... Eric Underwood Class of 81 Downey High School California ( Metallica I went to school with James!) ✌️♥️🇺🇲
Unfortunately, hese days I don't think Steve Perry can sing these songs well enough to do them the proper justice they deserve. I am 1000% opened to being proven wrong, though!

@@ernestperkins3084 That's awesome. I feel bad I never got to see them live. Definitely in my top 10 of favorite bands. Rush being my #1 naturally...... true as life has an end
I agree with you. Steve Perry has a phenomenal voice. I liked the song Oh Sherry by Steve Perry since my teens. It's one of my favorite songs. I just discovered in the past year and a half that Steve Perry was the lead singer of journey. Great man behind his great voice.
Can't argue that..... Not at all
So many studio lead singers out there whose live performances are poor.
Honestly no human can sing better than this, Steve Perry has no contender.
I totally agree!
Yeah, it is pointless to argue who is the "best," because it's so subjective. But you are absolutely right that no one can sing better than this. It's brilliant.
Phil Collins is so good too
Lou Gramm from Foreigner
The only one to match Steve Perry is Me. 😂🤣😅🤣😂🤣😅
Steve Perry is one of the best rock singers in history
THE BEST!
Steve Perry for sure is one of the best rock singers in history. A set of pipes on him like no other. I wish there was more music with him.
Don't forget, Perry wrote those awesome songs!
@@ptlatham7488 I didn't know that PT. Thanks!

Steve Perry one of the greatest singer songwriter on this planet❤❤🎉🎉
Steve Perry is a "Legend". No one will ever match his ability to draw you in and actually feel the lyrics of a song like he did back then. He's still a powerhouse in my book. Love you Steve!
Even now his solo music " traces" ECT is great. Sure voice is little raspy..and I love it. Crying is one of my favorites and so much more. Been listening for 45 years . Journey in the 80's now just Steve. Then journey died when Steve left. He was journey!!
Steve, pure dynamite
That Guitar solo gives me goosebumps
Goosebumps with tears. Simply mindblowing
He made that guitar cry!! this live version always been my favorite
Neal's playing on TRIAL BY FIRE album is some of his best as well.
That Hair on the guitarist also really moves me ;)
🥹❤️🔥🔥🔥
It’s crazy how much knowledge about singing, breathing, etc you need to sound the same way live the way you sounded during the recording of the album. Steve is truly breathtaking to me!
That's the thing that amazes me...the tech skill in singing. Blindingly good.
The 80's had such great music. Maybe that decade was when the music reached its apogee.
Music will never be this good again.
back when men were skinny as their ladies...haha
The world will never be this good again either. 😥
Never!!
True, but it will definitely inspire us to try creating it
You said it .. couldn't agree more....saw them in mountain air ...they are phenomenal live..... nothing like it.... Rock is dead... unfortunately
This is possibly the greatest live solo of ANY song that I’ve ever heard.
Mr.Crowley and Randy Rhodes have the clear #1, but I’m not opposed to placing this godlike Solo in the top 5
David Gilmour: 🤨🤨🤨
Steve Perry one of the best front men ever and yes this is what real rock and roll sounds like
That might be the greatest guitar solo in the history of concerts 😅🎸❤ LONG LIVE JOURNEY!!
Steve is now aged 73, how time flies! A real vocal legend, if you know anything about singing.
I believe in 2023 he's now 74 years old. DOB Jan 22 1949, same age as one of my many sisters.
I agree, I am a voice teacher: Steve sings easily high pitched notes in sostenuto, brightness. I wonder how he would perform classical music, mainly baroque music
@@Ricardojoglar because Steve Perry has tenor's voice
@@marciacastroalvarez4868 Which tenor sub-register you mean? The way he hits the high registrer is what makes him an exception among the majority pf rock tenors
Dear God, now I feel old.
This was the best lineup for Journey. The height of their fame. 1980-1986. Their concerts were amazing. Open stadiums, with 80,000 screaming fans!
I was one of those people screaming

Journey is not journey without Steve’s vocals, incredible voice
Perry's voice and Schon's guitar riffs are parting the ions through space

“Who’s crying now” is essentially an incredible duet. Steve Perry had the musical insight to fight the record label to keep Neal Schon’s guitar solo in the song.

A lot of the good music I thought lost forever lives on here on KZhead. Just that we are not the same. There is a fat man in the mirror every morning making faces at me when I shave.
@@MarttiSuomivuori Haha...no doubt! The ol' beltline is a little bigger than it used to be! I like to watch "reaction" videos when younger folks hear songs from my youth for the first time. One guy mentioned how KZhead is like a time machine, and that he can visit the past and get a sense of what life was like at that time. Very cool.
Steve Perry was BLESSED with a VOICE like no other. He was TRULY BORN TO SING. Steve's voice and the BAND brought it every time they performed. If you didn't feel it Something is terribly wrong. 😎😎😎
@Danielle Perry well said!!
@Danielle Perry - yeah…as talented as Neil is, it’s really too bad he’s such a dick. Rolle leaving because of Steve Perry - all I can say about that is - it’s an insecurity and ego problem on his part, and good riddance. It’s unfortunate, but they didn’t miss him (and neither did we)…🤷🏻♀️
I think this live performance is as good, if not better than the original. Journey is an amazing Band 👏
Damn! I grew up on all kinds of music, but Steve Perry was always an icon! I'd spend my last dollar to see Journey featuring Steve Perry.. Maybe I'm the only one who loves his voice this much.
This song is incredible....and so is Steve Perry. There is nobody more authentic than he is. Steve Perry's voice is as deep and smooth as he is. Just a beautiful man full of authenticity and emotion, who was bold enough to walk away to work on himself in recovery. He got so much shit for it, but don't ALL OF US TAKE SHIT IF WE CHOOSE TO BE AUTHENTIC.
True!
I can honestly say that Steve Perry's soaring and beautiful voice will go down as the best male rock voice of all time. I've also watched interviews with him, he's very humble, intelligent and kind.

@@melissarom3880 I didnt know his precise tone, (thank you for that.) but I know he makes that band. lol no offense to the other guys, they are phenomenal. It's just his voice makes it complete.
@@kimsteinke713 very true.
@@michaelhubert5470 you're very welcome, & I agree with you. Journey is not Journey without Steve Perry IMO. Also thank's for responding. It allowed me to correct my typo of tenor altino not alteno LOL. Anyway, I also edited my above comment. I only tell people these things for Steve Perry's credit, not about my knowledge about him, it's about his extremely rare and AWESOME voice. I just like to let people know just how rare it is. He hits the highest note on the male register with his voice and it comes out smooth as silk. I love to hear him do Wheel in the Sky live, especially toward the end when he's singing right beside Neil playing the guitar. I only recently realized that it was Steve's voice and not the guitar. I think it's the one done in 1979. I love his four octaves five notes vocal range, singing with his chest voice and head voice. Wow!!! I'm sure you can see I'm crazy about the guy, but admittedly I loved his voice when he was with Journey the best. Btw, I'm sorry this is so long.
He looks absolutely exhausted, yet he is flawless in his performance. I cannot imagine how they did all that touring.
Well Katie, I’m sure there were certain ways to keep that energy flowing night after night,, song after song. Cocaine was so prevalent at that time among the bands, the fans, the general population that even tho I know knowing if their personal histories, it had to be around. Nothing wrong about it - it was a different time back then. Only hard core drugs were avoided _ like smack or heroin. But coke was a party drug, everyone I knew did it from time to time. Like having a latte now. Lol
@@blondelebanese9922 you make a good point, and I recall now that SP has mentioned getting into things that he shouldn’t have. I never think of it because I’m “straight edge”. Cocaine and diet pills were apparently huge in the 80’s.
