    • God bless these guys. Always overlooked as a "chick/ Lifetime Network band". People who've never seen them live in their heyday have no clue about how heavy their music is live. Neal Schon, most underrated, overlooked guitar player ever.

    • Absolutely 100% true. Steve has a very rare Tenor altino voice. It's a rare form of countertenor. I knew he was rare before I found that out.;-) He's awesome and untouchable.

    • @@michaelhubert5470 you're very welcome, & I agree with you. Journey is not Journey without Steve Perry IMO. Also thank's for responding. It allowed me to correct my typo of tenor altino not alteno LOL. Anyway, I also edited my above comment. I only tell people these things for Steve Perry's credit, not about my knowledge about him, it's about his extremely rare and AWESOME voice. I just like to let people know just how rare it is. He hits the highest note on the male register with his voice and it comes out smooth as silk. I love to hear him do Wheel in the Sky live, especially toward the end when he's singing right beside Neil playing the guitar. I only recently realized that it was Steve's voice and not the guitar. I think it's the one done in 1979. I love his four octaves five notes vocal range, singing with his chest voice and head voice. Wow!!! I'm sure you can see I'm crazy about the guy, but admittedly I loved his voice when he was with Journey the best. Btw, I'm sorry this is so long.

    • Well Katie, I’m sure there were certain ways to keep that energy flowing night after night,, song after song. Cocaine was so prevalent at that time among the bands, the fans, the general population that even tho I know knowing if their personal histories, it had to be around. Nothing wrong about it - it was a different time back then. Only hard core drugs were avoided _ like smack or heroin. But coke was a party drug, everyone I knew did it from time to time. Like having a latte now. Lol

    • @@blondelebanese9922 you make a good point, and I recall now that SP has mentioned getting into things that he shouldn’t have. I never think of it because I’m “straight edge”. Cocaine and diet pills were apparently huge in the 80’s.
