Yea, those days are long, long gone.
hate to tell you that this wasn't 100% analog
Fuckin hell. What a time this must have been. I was born in 1997. All I’ve known is fake performances. If I’m being honest, only people I’ve seen who didn’t use lip sync or auto tune in a concert was Post Malone and Motionless in White.🤷🏾😂

Look at the stage setting: a bunch of simple lights, simple drums, bass, guitar and piano. And Steve’s miraculous voice. Nothing else, nothing, just plain and powerful rock & roll played by true artists. We will never listen to things like this anymore…
Yep, it all went to *&^% with Autotune and being able to shake your junk around.
Song wise, there is nothing simple here at all. The song is one of the very best "crafted" pieces I've ever heard. There is allot going on in this song musically, and the only way to explain it is to look at how a pocket watch works. Musically, it's like that.
nunca pare de acreditar...
We could. Nothing is stopping us. It's OUR future!

Wow! You are so blessed to have seen this concert. It is the favorite of many fans including myself.
So luckyyyyy!!!🥹
I had to wait two years to see for the Frontiers tour!
I love you! Grandma
OMG! I'm 63 ye ole woman and I was there also. Woo-hoo for me and you.
The words "Don't Stop Believin'" are not sung until 50 seconds from the end. This is one of the greatest songs ever composed.
That always fascinated me. Illustrates how strong every note of this song is. Truly the G.O.A.T.
a lot of people agree with you - and me too. i looked down on " Stadium Rock " - coming from the sixties, but i bow down to these guys and this song in particular. A.I. may eventually produce stuff like this, but it is the human experience that ultimately makes this stuff important.
The man's voice is powerful
Sheer god-given talent. A golden voice.
He sounds exactly like the recording
That is the beauty of Steve Perry, freak of nature.
even better
My daughter is 29 and knows the album word for word, what a great dad I am 😂😂
I am 28 and teaching my daughter every word :D
My daughter is 17 and said no one will ever be better than Steve Perry 🤘❤️

Look at the quality of the voice in 1981, it's surreal!!!!!
There is no band today that can do this. This was an amazing performance and Steve Perry's voice is out of this world.
Disagree - Journey with Arnel Pineda is still killing it today!
@E52O4 hey they are doing OK but let's face the facts the original journey at that live concert is way better than now. Remember facts don't jive with feelings.
Steve Perry is a national treasure! I hear God in his voice. ❤
it turns out, like Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant, that he was a great human. hardest thing in the universe to be a great human.
Steve Perry's voice was truly a gift.
Yes totally agree brilliant it's a gift

Steve Perry is one of THE greatest voices of the 80's, period. Real music, real talent, real instruments and ALL Live! and incredible performances. Pretty rare today, if any at all. You wont see bands with talent like this anymore.

Better than studio's version. During his prime, noone sings like Steve Perry... truly a legend. 😊

this is real and pure
Saw em live 🎉
i thought even if i was a billionnaire it would be impossible
many of my heroes from the sixties had a hard time performing live as good as the studio tricks. Perry is still alive and well and of course we see even better that the original recording. the instrumental technique was zero difficult, but by the same token the band members were extremely skilled. they rolled it all back as Perry joined the band. by dumping their egos and joining with Perry - the rest is history. god bless them all.
Steve Perry is one of the BEST vocalists ever!! Any generation......Any genre of music!! Effortless!!! He made the 80's!!!
May the 80's be with you.
Good lord I don't even think he uses any kind of in ear monitor or anything. He's just totally pitch perfect naturally. What an amazing singer
They had no in-ear monitoring systems back in '82. That's a product of the late 80's- early 90's. He just had floor monitors. And the early in-ear stuff was just horrible. Took about 15 years to get to the point where it was passable.
Jacob Dexter one of the best tenors and best vocalists ever
You are correct sir. I played in bar bands in the 70s and 80s and when I would go to big arenas to see headliners, I was always amazed that they could hear anything out of the floor monitors, even with PA's that cost 1/2 million bucks! (BTW, the best by far for sound was Frank Zappa and the Mothers)
Jacob Dexter he was originally hired by the band to give them voice lessons... The rest is history as they say.
Barney Barnes he does not need anything at all just naturally brilliant

Back when singers would actually sound like they do in their studio version of a song
This doesn’t sound like the studio version... it sounds BETTER! nowadays when artists perform live they often struggle without studio technology.
Right, most singers now days depend on technology to make themselves sound good or they sometimes just lip sing because they know they can't do it that good in live
Ari Ree no, most singers still sing
Destroyer Demon Bones if they don’t lip sync, it sounds worse than the studio version since they don’t have any technology or auto tune sorts of stuff to use live
Cader yeah, but most of them are still pretty good at singing
I only came to check this out cus Forbes Magazine announced this as The Biggest Song of all Time. Beautiful ❤.

No human being should be able to sing like this live. No computer quality/ tuning controls, no software adjustments to put the vocals in the pocket, no digital anythings (which plague the industrialized scene these days) can achieve this. Simply stellar.
It can't be imitated, can it be better ,I'm waiting.

you said it bro! Vintage TALENT and CREATIVITY - much lacking in todays BS pop culture.
Musicians had to actually be musicians in that era. They had to have a real voice and know their instrument inside out. I played in bands in this era. The competition was intense, and it was real. I had the experience of totally kicking ass with a great set, or my band getting our asses handed to us by another band because they were better. But it was real competition. We had to work harder to get better. Now nobody cares about real music and the hard work that goes into it.
