MUST SEE! Transforming Sled-Cabin

Welcome to our transforming sled/cabin project! Spending a winter weekend in the woods of Alaska doesn't have to be frigid. We took our cabin with us!
This pop-up camper sled is a prototype. We are working on a concept and improving it each week. This video documents our first overnight, trial. There will be more videos to come as we test different designs and materials.
We wish you all the magic in the forest!

    • Not only that but when he’s grown with a family of his own this sled/cabin will probably still be around as will this video. He’ll be able to show his children how he built this with his grampa.

    • This is how master builders are made. Not slouching in chairs in school. What an important apprenticeship to have. The kid is a better than 99% of the helpers out there. Rare to see someone enthusiastic and not look at their phone.

    • the grandfather is also blessed with a great grandson like him who enjoys this kind of activities. he's a rare breed. my grandfather used to asked me to go somewhere with him, but i refused cz i prefer hanging out with my friends, rather than with an old man like him. now im an adult and full of regrets 😢

    • @@ThisIsMyAlaska Have you considered licensing your sled camper design to anyone? I don’t camp anymore, our last time was during Hurricane Gilbert and my wife has never forgiven me... I would think they REI, or perhaps a snow mobile company would be interested. I see great potential in your design and construction. Wishing you and your grandson many happy opportunities together. • these experiences are something everybody should have access to. It makes me sad when i see people underestimate what they're truly capable of. But on the flip side it makes me happy to see people develop those skills and experiences, and to realize what they're capable of. experiences like this might seem simple and rather trivial. But it's more about what it fundamentally teaches people as they develop in life. We're capable of doing anything that we can invest the time to learn. It's that simple. Especially in a modern world where everything is so interconnected, and people are only valued by what they can produce for society, rather than their own good. Which can in turn benefit society. I hope to do the same thing, not with children, but with people in general. If i can do something, practically anybody else can. It's a matter of learning.

So enjoyable to once again have an interesting video with no one talking at us. Thanks for believing that your audiance is intelligent enough to follow along, it is one thing that drew me to your channel originally. What a great project! • Everyone talks about how lucky the boy is, but what a gift for you! Kids keep us young. They keep us connected to when life was simpler and we saw wonder everywhere we looked. Adventure was just around the corner. Or the snowmobile track, as it were! 😊❤️

  • What a wonderful experience for your grandson! Watching his excitement from the start of making the sled camper to it's finish & then getting to go out with grandpa to enjoy it - such fun times to be had & remembered in the months ahead ... GREAT JOB well done by you both! ❤

    • How sweet of you to reply! I was listening to you and Tanya responding to comments of your viewers. I so loved the one that said they click the like button before watching. They echoed me perfectly. I do that each time because I know that it will be enjoyable and worthwhile. Many blessings to you both for that. There is one thing that I wish to take you to task for, Mr. Gale. I know you won't pay attention, but I'll feel better for having said it. PLEASE wear a mask and eye protection when tearing down old construction. Wouldn't it be awful if you lost an eye because a splinter got in it, or you got COPD and couldn't breathe without an oxygen machine because you took in all that dirt. I'm 75 years old and I know that our last years should be pleasant and as vital as can be. Lord knows that we've worked hard enough to earn that! Sitting up to sleep with oxygen attached to your face is NOT the ideal way to live. This is asked with love and caring. I feel like you, Tanya and Drox are family because I've watched you for so long. Catherine@@ThisIsMyAlaska
