We Have Multiple Events a week and ALL skill levels welcome.

These games are organised and hosted by clans on a private server.
They work because everyone follows a set of rules in order to recreate a more realistic battle scenario.
Example: Keeping a good formation, no solo playing, no trolling.
It worth also mentioning these are friendly games. Winning is certainly our goal but it doesn't matter as long as we have an epic fight to talk about!
THANK YOU to this mod that helped make custom skins and Banners happen.

  • A couple things I’d like to remark: 1. I remember when the first 500 battle was played and how humongous it looked then; we are reaching such numbers on the regular now 2. You can actually see the different units getting better at fighting. You see a lot less of the lines just falling apart into a general melee but everyone is keeping with their allies and actually staying in formation. The captains have also visibly gotten better at keeping everyone reigned in

    • Exactly my thoughts and what I tell the soldiers. There’s moments in the battle I look the down the battle line. 1. It feels like a proper battle 2. • Historian here, that was awesome. Maybe not totally realistic because medieval infantry IRL as in other eras, wouldn't charge that way breaking formation as it would be a certain death sentence and you wouldn't have a respawn, and even in gaming simulators you don't have preservation instinct to worry about, but you acted tactically like a real platoon leader, a real centurion, a real manipolo commander. Awesome.

Seeing organized lines, moving behind the protection of other shield lines into their positions was amazing. Also very clearly shows the usefulness of banner bearers during the period. • Most skirmishes atleast to my understanding caused less than 50 deaths before a side buckled and fled. However this is before Medieval times. Also the men actually worrying for their lives was a huge factor, seeing a well equipped and uniform enemy was like a death sentence to engage which caused much of Roman success. However if it is defending a home town or such where morale is high they usually would fight to the death, so those skirmishes/battles are usually the ones we know of today. " Kings and Generals " got alot of history on this subject breaking down battles to be understood.

    • I think if the yellows had not gone forward without orders, or had all listened to the instruction to hold (i.e. form a line again), the charge by black would not have been effective. As it was, the yellows were in a big L shape when the blacks charged into the apex of the L, and the blacks actually surrounded themselves with yellows briefly, which would ordinarily have had a bad outcome. However, the blacks seemed better at fighting and so, even though the yellow leader had several blacks backs exposed to his sword for a few seconds, there wasn't enough time to take advantage of it because the blacks beat most of their yellow opponents very quickly.

For a second, I imagined myself in the place of a soldier who was utterly confident as his unit pushed back the enemy, only to turn around and see that we have left our line behind, and are now being surrounded by enemy forces.

    • It's difficult to be that charismatic in a stressful situation like this. You gotta maintain the temple and try to make coherent decisions in the heat of the battle, so there's little space for more charismatic and sweet talk :( I can tell it because I've been captain of a group of skirmishers/melee in M&B Warband and when shit comes down to your squad, you gotta make fast decisions. In a resume, it's better to lose some charisma at the time you give orders to maintain a clear mind so you can keep making good strategic decisions. That being said, Benoni was very supportive when things came down haha I'm not that sweet, but at the end of each battle, I gave my brothers-in-arms some pats on the back.

There is also engine limitation 2048 agents/entities per map for both singleplayer/multiplayer. Game crashes with more than 2048 agents. • Great video! Some advice from a military person. Instead of saying something like 5:43 back row goto the left don’t use the front guys, try having your men form a 5/7/10 man front and the rest falling in behind them in rows. Your line disappeared for a second bc of confusion who the back row was (even if some were clearly the front). Still, this video is 3 months old and everyone is commenting how much better you guys are getting. It looks a lot of fun.

    @steffens260@steffens26010 ай бұрын
    • Hey dude some good advice. What do you mean by the 5/7/10 ? Sounds interesting. Regarding the front line. They should of kept their tight position and the back row manouver left/right. But half our soldiers miss the training session where we practice this. Appreciate the comment !

      @Benoniyoutube@Benoniyoutube10 ай бұрын
    • @@Benoniyoutube what i mean is if while forming you tell them to make a 5 man front then 5 people line up. Everyone makes rows of 5 covering down behind the front 5. This allows the front 5 to know they’re the front line. Or Vice, the back two rows knows who the commander is talking to and that they need to break off and cover left. Instead of the gaggle that occurred.

    • @@steffens260Couldn't make it more confusing or complicated if you tried 😂 Nobody speaks in that language - the way you coordinate people is to split big groups into smaller ones, and each one has a designated position and task. So if the 1st group fails for whatever reason, you simply tell the 4th group to take over or whichever one is the optimal for the task. If you want your individual team members to decipher where each of them should be, you'll end up with a chaotic mess of people overlapping.

      @TheDendra7@TheDendra77 ай бұрын
    • @@TheDendra7 that’s why you don’t give them specific positions to be. If I tell group 1 (7 people) that they are the front line, then they don’t need to know who’s first second third etc. they just need to form a line in the front. Everyone else roughly gathers behind them. Doesn’t sound specific or complicated at all.

  • I wonder how combat would have to change for polearms to play more of a role in these line fights. In IRL reenactment you tend to see a lot more poking and prodding before any sort of charge, and spearheads can slip through very slim openings. In games, shields work almost as a binary defense - you're either fully protected from a given range of degrees, or not at all, so it's comparatively easy to advance on any formation. I'm sure there are other factors at play too, like the inherently frantic movement of a multiplayer game, but I'll stop here :P Very cool to see these kinds of organized fights! I used to be part of something similar in Napoleonic Wars for Warband

    • ok, so im fairly new to the community of the sword, but here's why i think spears are normally a bit trash in games: psychology, in game u never actuly die so one charge in and fights more with weapons than shields. in war, you only die once. so you would fight way more with ur shield than ur sword. even horses would not actually, willingly run into a wall of pikes. which is why they where used to harass, flank and chase down the enemy once routed. so real men fighting would charge but probebly not rush in head long. as they get closer the front rank starts slowing down, and gradually the momentum is lost. most battles would probably have been a stand off, with men tossing projectiles and move in and out of the moral tension zone to strike, which is a helluva risk. so in real battle, the longer ur weapon, the closer to ur own line u could stay while still striking at the enemy. not only is that range advantage a huge factor 1v1 psychologically, im sure it gives the combatant a bit more confidence to strike. becouse they dont have to get so far away from backup or quite so close to the actual enemy. as for making spears better in this game, IDK, faster attack rate and stabs only for spears, helberds could have thrust and over hand only. maybe with overhand being able to strike through allies. its beleved they where pretty much used this way in actual battle, the second line striking over the first. hence the pollaxe, pole but poll or crown of the head, at least according to some.

    @RoadToMan@RoadToMan10 ай бұрын
    • Execellent question! In the BRE you’d be placed in either the infantry or archer divisions. Cavalry is a very sought after position. If you can imagine 200 players on one team with only 15-20 cavalry. It’s hard to cater for everyone. The longer and more loyal to the clan you are, your path may eventurely become a mounted sergeant or a squire to a lord. Effectively there is a waiting list.

  • 1:41 the first moments are honestly a good example why medieval armies usually avoided a charge when in a shield wall, the attacker is at a disadvantage so it's either very slow progress or waiting for the enemy to come. Some scribes mention that a formation must be standing so close shoulder by shoulder that an apple can't pass between them, which can't be ensured when moving, it just needs one little bush or rabbit hole for a small gap in the formation that the enemy can use

Plus in bannerlord u cant walk through small gaps between soliders so if u have slight gaps u can use spears through the gaps.

How the battles will change overtime, as the players learn and adapt. Constant stream of new players basically being levy troops. Super narrow voip would be good so you can hear the very close players. The commander could have a horn function and louder voip command. The potential for this is incredible man.
