Where is it available in the us
Do you sell these in the US?
Absolutely blown away by these fantastic products! The designers behind it must be incredibly talented and ingenious. Their creativity and brilliance shine through in every aspect. Truly amazing work! *Ahem* I mean.... if anyone has any questions, just get in touch ;)
When and where are these available?!
@tomlarge493 On our website or you can ask your wholesalers :)
Well played.
Excellent! I asked them for something like this about three years ago and they said it was in production. They'll sell like hot cakes and will be less faff than a Hager J803.
Great feedback thanks David
I do believe you did, David. I will have to send you one to take a look at! Valentine's day is coming up, so I'll pop it in with the flowers and chocs I was going to send you...
Don't mention Hager......
Be a lot less faff if they had decent push in connections in them or maybe even Wago's 🤷♂
@@mport343 Have you actually used them.......never heard so much crap
Friction burn and gaining a little extra length. Lol. I did chuckle
Just started using these for lighting around my farm buildings, they are absolutely fantastic. Quick and very easy to use 👏👏👏
I was converted a while ago. So easy. Love them.
Thanks Paul, pleased to give you another tool for the chest in that case ;)
They really need a 3 core and earth version for smart lighting, bathroom extractors, and fire alarms.
We do need one, agreed! It's on the way....
Great bit of kit. Already used one.
Sam! Pleased to hear it ;) And how was it for you?
You produce some lovely adverts.
Wish we had some of these in the US!
Me to actually ;)
Can’t wait to try it and gain a little length ,something I’ve been after for years.
Got my hands on some of these today and they look great. Looking forward to using them. I have a job where they will be perfect.
Where did you get yours from ....need some for next week....
@@markyd2633 Directly from the Quickwire website. Only ordered yesterday so impressive speed.
If you want them quick, we do next day deliver pretty much as standard on the website. If you can wait a little longer then you can ask at your wholesaler, but they will have to get them in as they have only been released this week@@markyd2633
Awesome. Can I ask what the job was - as in how you used them? Always good to get feedback
@@quickwire80This was to add a spur to a ring where there wasn't any cable slack and it would have been inconvenient to have run a cable to spur off an existing point on the ring.
At 2’46” we see the lights go out as matey forgets to disconnect the N and cpc at the split load board - I only ever did it the first time 🤣.
Well spotted!!! I was going to challenge myself to nibbling through but thought…..nahhh😂😂😂
Good way of testing the Rcd I suppose 😂
I wondered if they did that on purpose? Camera man at the breaker
@@joehammond6119 funny isn’t it, sometimes you can get away with it ! 👍😎. Seeing how you looked away and put your hand up before committing I can only guess you’ve got some arc modified cutters at bottom of your tool bag 🙈⚡️.
Your comment doesn’t relate to the video , he did show a split load board or forget to disconnect the neutral and earth. What are you talking about?
Nice stuff. Is that available for main land non flat cables?
Looks like a good bit of kit
It's bloomin brilliant ;)
Hi great video. 👍 can these be buried in plasterboard
I'm sold but one question... Can these be buried in a plaster wall? I.e. used in a wall to repair a nailed/screwed into cable and then plastered over? (Obviously not energised until the plaster is dry?)
Very impressive when can I expect to see this product in the USA
10 to 15 years time, hopefully.
I wish this was available for American Romex cables.
Look great. When will these be available?
already available, on amazon £5 for instance
@@thefowlyetti2These two models aren't available on Amazon, at least not yet. They are available direct from Quickwire.
can't see the 24A anywhere - only 16A splitter box on Amazon - sadly not the same thing... 😞@@thefowlyetti2
24A ones now available on Quickwire web site
Thanks for the shout out, Greg@@Bodrick01
"apart from creating a fireplace" stealing that one.
They look like they could be useful. Noticed at the end when you repaired the cable using the two way one, you never secured this one to the side of the joist.
I love your videos. So I’m not having a dig. At 3:22 you can see that the sheath finishes slightly outside the ‘JB’ or splicer. (What ever you call it. At 3:33 the T&E is twisted before it enters the JB. Is that all normal and ok?
What about cable strain relief?
Finally!!!
Craig, yep if you know, you know. It has been a (very) long time coming....
Dont we all wish we gained a little length
Quickwire like to help electricians gain length. We are very good at it.
On the 24a JB is that a fuse holder in the centre? If it is, this item doesn’t seem to be maintenance free, just saying😎
Apart from the MF “Maintenance Free” symbol printed on the rating label.
@@efixx so its not a fuse holder then???
That is actually the test hold cover in disguise, Jamie@@jamiekent1970
*holes* (not hold)... it's been a long day
@@quickwire80 thank you for the info most appreciated👍😎
How much cost do they add to the job? What's a socket install about £65 less £10 materials. 3 quick wire connectors were used so what's left on the £££ for doing the job?
Time is money - do the maths
If you’re just adding 1 socket then £65 is way too cheap. Using quickwire or not.
Takes about 2 minutes, so should charge customer a few pence.@efixx
If it’s rated to 24a surely you can’t use it on a ring circuit as it’s 32a
It's fine. We wire rings in 2.5 sq mm and those aren't rated for 32 A either. The same principle applies that the load will be shared between the legs of the ring.
Great question, see the answer here: kzhead.info/sun/fsNultyMhV-vgp8/bejne.html
@@adambro5480eh? It’s 5mm rating as it’s a ring lol
Do they do a 32a version otherwise what’s the point
And the rating on 2.5mm sq cable is ???
@@efixx unrelated to this very funny thread, yet related to this video. Quite a common question unanswered here is can this product be used under fresh plaster in cases of repairing lighting where knicks of the cable have occured? Aappreciate any response :)
24A on a 32A ring final circuit?
Ring circuit is the key here!
Why are we wanting everything done quickly ? I'm responsible for electrical connections not some quick connect company. How much more time is required to fit a junction box and strip connector ? Sleeping at night is essential.
Can you bury it in a wall, if someone has drilled a cable.
It’s maintenance free, so yes.
It is indeed MF!
@@quickwire80 So you can plaster over it? I've never had the chance to look at the actual MF specs. If it can be plastered over I can see this being very useful.
shame it's not available in normal places like screwfix and toolstation...
We're in discussion with a lot of people currently. Watch this space!
“Normal”. By that you mean DIY, where unqualified people can buy these and carry out work in their home with no testing or paperwork upon completion. Yeah, good idea…
There was no video "right here"... so... why is it 24 amps?
That looked nothing like a friction burn, looked more like you had a go at it with your teeth! 🤣👍
At last they just need to make one for 3core now 👍
This is the next product on the roadmap. We actually have it designed..... just got to manufacture up and running.
@@quickwire80 that's great news, the range are great we use them all the time. 👍👍
Fantastic, so pleased to hear that ;) I will make a coffee and head down to the design dept tomorrow morning to annoy them about it and get them to hurry up. Wish me luck!@@darrenfreeman6205
Can you bury them in a plastered wall
Quick wire are fantastic awesome products. Shame the TW&E automatic stripper is way was overpriced especially as you can’t change the blades Great video as always Joe 3po
Actually cheaper than the jokari version I had some couple of years ago.
Yes you can change the blades....look on their website
The new ones do have replaceable blades. Have a look at the price of the identical Knipex ones tho 🤯
I'll just add the the other comments (thanks guys) that yes, our new versions have replaceable blades now, and prices should be very competitive...
For what I remember in regs you cannot cut the ring to install JB only at C unit and sockets that is where the old 30 amp JB where design to enable you to install the JB with out cutting the ring circuit.
No idea what you’re talking about
Are you saying that you can't spur off a ring circuit unless it's out of the back of an existing socket, or the at the consumer unit? I'm 99.99% sure that's completely untrue and is fine as long as you use a maintenance free junction box.
@@1992jamo no you can spur of the ring using a JB but the old 30 amp round type that allow you to split the cores of the twin and earth, and place them into the JB without cutting the ring circuit, then putting your shut cable into the JB, and tightening the brass screws up on the ring cable and the spur cable. Hopefully that make sense
@@kevanswift7797 I think that was just a practice sometimes used with the old junction boxes. I don't believe its in the regs. Ring is cut all the time, to install JB, you do with Wago's too.
Gibberish
There is no need to cut the ring. Use the 30 amp JB keeps the ring as one ring should only cut ring at sockets and DB.
plasitc condiut is not additional protection
Your misses will be pleased...
Are they waterproof?
No there not water proof
Nope these are IP30
I’m no electrician, but isn’t twin and earth being replaced by 3 core cable in April? Will these connections be compatible?
No
I think that was our April fool from last year.kzhead.info/sun/pKqQe5lvkKybmZs/bejne.htmlsi=_8KDHALprbYZyyp4
Yes it was ! @@efixx
Thanks for that, I've just found out it was an April fool, doh! @@markyd2633

Надо было развести провода и жидкой изолентой, а вообще в подполе кабель в металорукаве должен быть 😂😂😂😂😂
I found a box of leftover these last week in my shed. I used them on a fairly large job about 5 or 6 years ago, when they'd just come out. They serve a purpose, but are a definite 'only do the one job', as there's no flexibilty to expand or adapt them. I think they're likely to still be in my shed in a couple of years...
He’s very comfortable in that wig and lipstick
We've seen him in real life. Stunning.
If i use this to ‘repair’ something, will i gain a little more length? Asking for men?
Worth a shot? Just don't.... hurt yourself? Make sure you have a removal tool to hand.
If it fits in one of those, length isn't your problem
Time should never be of the essence. It’s doing the job properly.
Ужас провода без защиты под деревянным полом , да ещё и соединение разъёмное , необслуживаемое без доступа .
i'm never gonna understand the logic behing UK & US electrical wiring system... god bless EU standards & WAGO (wago 2273-2401. now this is slim and small.)
I'm not feeling the narration here mate, full marks for trying something different. It works on Jackanory, not altering a ring main.
The UK installation practices are a complete joke to me. Be it the flat cables, not using conduit, leaving connections under the floor, bundling cables, the square boxes... everything is outdated and insanely labor intensive with every small problem again requiring excessive labor to fix.
Is that why we have the safest electrical system in the world and the best training and the best trained engineers to install repair and upgrade and the tuffets wiring and building regulations in the world.
@@Dog-whisperer7494 Who is 'we'? The UK? Safest in what way? The little data there even is points to the UK having a five times higher mortality rate from 'electrical injuries' than my country (the Netherlands). Are you on voice to text? Otherwise I don't see how you use 'tuffets' as an adjective.
Well stay in the Netherlands then
@@markyd2633 I am. Free speech isn't as degraded here as in the UK. But feel free to learn from a much easier electrical system.
