I know this is considered an 'old' video by youtube standards, but I just wanted to say how helpful it still is lol. I rescued an orphaned, singular kitten on Monday and now it's Saturday. I was pretty confident that she's 3 weeks old, but halfway through the week her canines and incisors started coming through, and I was totally lost on whether I should start weaning her or not. I'm glad I watched this because I would have started WAY too soon if I didn't. (I've also never had a cat before, much less a kitten, so I was super lost.) So thanks for the really useful and cute video!

It's super appreciated but it's not _that_ hard to keep up with kittens growing up each week. Plenty of people do it. Making any video takes work, and this video take some more work than regular ones, but it's not insanely difficult.

I found one maybe a week old, everybody told me that he wouldn’t survive. I made an ‘incubator’ for him and fed him KMR (kitten milk replacement) from a syringe then a doll’s baby bottle. He not only survived he lived to age 17!

Me. I just found a newborn kitty in the back of my house. It’s been raining and the temperature is cold, I can’t bring him inside because his mother could return Looking for him. I have given him milk with a syringe during the day and for the night I prepared an improvised nest with aluminum and towels for cold weather. I will be going back to check on him to make sure he is still in the nest and staying warm.

12 years ago, a friend of mine found a three week old kitten all alone under her front porch. Mama hadn't been seen for about two days, and the rest of the litter wasn't there either. My friend kept figuring Mama would come back for the last kitten, but she didn't...and kitten had no heat source or food for two full days. We took her, brought her to the vet, who told us not to get attached and that she'd very likely die as she was quite underweight, filthy, flea covered, and had a bacterial infection in one eye. My fourteen year old brother took this as a personal challenge, carried this kitten in his bathrobe pocket all the time, syringe fed her first, then a bottle every couple hours day and night, and Daisy is a happy healthy 12 year old lap cat, watching the birds, and living in luxury today...even at 3 weeks, it was a challenge to take care of this abandoned kitten, and I have so much respect for you regularly taking care of babies younger than this. Thanks for this video--really brings back memories :)

We had a couple of stray kittens show up at our house a few years ago. We figured them to be about 5 weeks. The brother was on his death bed. Took them to the vet to get them checked out. Needless to say, we took them in. They are thriving and living their best life. It still breaks my heart that someone just dropped them off. 💔 We love our grand babies. Our daughter is their mommy.😁

I knew the shelter not going to take her because she was one-day-old .Took her to the vet.They say she was lucky. We're going on week 2 and they've improved so much!. The pound gave us all the supplies and food at no charge to foster these little ones. We may just keep them 🥰

Although this video was made several years ago, I have been watching it over and over to help me better understand our new kittens. I’m pretty much a first time kitty mom, so I was extremely lost until I came across this video. My husband found 4 abandoned kittens outside of his work. His coworker rescued 2 and my husband rescued the other 2. We were able to guesstimate their ages from your video. The first vet visit they had verified we were correct with our assumptions. We were afraid they might not make it at first because they were so tiny when my husband brought them home, but we watched this video to help us understand how to care for them and things are going really well. They are now 4 weeks old and the vet says they are healthy and doing well. Thank you for taking the time to make such a wonderfully detailed video. Our little kitty girls are getting so much love and the proper care. I can’t wait to see them grow. Now, if we can get our 2 male Yorkshire/Pomeranians used to them.

I just got a six-week-old kitten from a co-worker at work, she was very constipated and needed help with stimulation going pee. Your videos have taught me very much how to care for this kitten because even though she's 6 weeks old there are still things she's learning due to being weaned too early from her mother You're a very good person and I thank you for everything you helped me impart to best care for my baby momo 💖💖💖💖 I also give her frequent butt baths because she has a habit of going potty on herself or scaring herself while peeing or pooping and getting it on her.

I found my cat around 5 weeks old, she was stuck inside my mom's car because of the cold, she ended up being partially deaf. I had middle school at this point, and I was trying to take care of my cat. It was a very stressful few weeks for 13 year old me, but she'll be four soon and I'm so blessed to have her.

My kitty passed a few years ago at the age of 15. This video reminded me of the very beginnings with her. My dad started to feed this stray one day which we later found out that this stray had a kitten with her. After coaxing the shy kitten to come out, I developed a bond with her. Didn't quite work as a house cat since she always wanted to be outside. Fast forward several months and we noticed she started getting fatter. This once shy kitten was becoming a mother of her own! Well, one day she just shown up on our porch with her lower body all wet looking. With no sign of a kitten in sight, we were all hoping the little ones were just under the house or something. Low and behold one day we had their mother bring kittens to us. They were just at that age of their eyes being open. Poor things had eye infections because of insulation. We got some help with a vet treatment and those eye were soon irritation free. To make sure these kitties didn't have to live as strays, we took them to get adopted - mother included. As you could imagine, as a kid this was super sad because not only was I giving up cute kittens, but also their mother that I met as a kitten. Where we lived at the time, we weren't supposed to have pets anyway. My dad got attached to one of the kittens. This was Snowball. As a baby she was white with blonde tabby marks and bright blue eyes. Those blonde marks turned dark as she got older, but she still kept her pretty blue eyes. This cat kept me going through highschool and was always there for me - even if she did have a sassy attitude sometimes. My dad passed away in 2011 while my cat passed 3 years later. He wasn't a cat person, but he loved her. When he passed, it felt like part of him was still with her. When she passed, I thanked both her and my dad for the many years of friendship she gave.

Because of your videos I was able to discover that my sweet Mowgli is a Girl, and that she’s four weeks old! Her incisors just came through. I’ve been bottle feeding her for two weeks now, and goodness… I wish I saw these videos sooner. I think I’ve been feeding her too much… but she’s been loving it so none of it was forced lol. She’s growing, and peeing and pooping regularly with stimulation so we weren’t too concerned. The vet called her a CHUNKY MONKEY because she definitely is 😂 she’s getting fed the normal amount now and I’m glad she’s growing big, strong, and healthy. Thank you so much for the tips, I’ll be using them going forward and I’ll definitely recommend your videos to others. 🤍

Thank you Kitten Lady!!! Because of your videos, I was able to save 28 cats, spay and neuter them and find homes for 22 of them. I bottle fed18 neonatal kittens and now they all have homes and are healthy and happy!!!!!
I literally adopted a stray cat off the streets and she was an indoor and outdoor cat, and then wouldn’t you know, she had 5 little babies about 2 months later! We gave away two sisters together and now we have three kittens and one cat. (When I say we, I mean me and my parents) We love our new family. The two kittens we gave away are named Sally and Callie, although their new owner named them Penelope and Juniper.

Got some 4 week old kittens a few days ago. They’re under weight I believe but they’ve been eating extremely well (soft food with milk formula mixed in) and they even go to the litter box on their own!

I found my cat in the sun on a sidewalk at an estimated 2 days old (according to our vet) and this brings back such memories! He's 13 years old now and we are SO bonded.
Thank you for the two months of dedication this video took! I'm sure the time you spent has benefited hundreds of kitten's, by giving people the information they need to keep them alive and flourishing. I found your video yesterday after rescuing a kitten from a snow storm it surely wouldn't have survived. Im still worried for it and plan to bring it to my local shelter for care because the little guy doesn't have a mom and I am not an experienced care giver. My kitten has been incredibly hard to age. I think it's four weeks after watching your video though. He moves around very independently, and has well developed pupils, but is under 100 grams and only one handful. Poor guy must be starving.

I was watching this while looking at my 6 month old cat because I was thinking about when I got him. He was so tiny he fit in one palm, the rescuer said he was about 8 weeks old and was eating dry food and I had this bad feeling they didnt know what they were doing with him at all. I had just lost my 15 year old and was immediately attached to him and wanted him to have a better life so I took him. I took him home and put him on a wet kitten food because I could not imagine why he was on dry so tiny. He went to the vet the next day and he wasnt even a pound. The vet wasnt able to give me an exact date but we both agreed he was no where near 8 weeks. From watching this video I am pretty sure he was only 4 weeks old. I wish I had known more about where he came from, and am pretty upset about the horrible care he got when he was rescued. But I am extremely happy he is healthy, playful and loving now. Thank you for this video as it really put a lot into perspective for me!
Thanks for this informative video!! I took in a stray momma cat and within weeks of having her she gave birth to a tiny litter of 3- all boys and all orange stripes. The cutest triplets of any species I’ve ever seen 😊 I’m so happy I ran into your video since they are almost 3 weeks old and I wasn’t sure when they would wean from milk to meat let alone what kind of meat I should feed them. This time line video is awesome and will save many more kittens. I have had the experience of saving a newborn kitten that was found with Mama and siblings not alive. My daughter found them called me that night and I told me what she found. I told her to get Petsmilk and Karo Syrup & let him suck on a wash cloth with the milk. We found a doll bottle which is what we used for 6 weeks 25 years ago. Aslan lived to be 18 yrs old and was the love of our life. Now fast f/w I have a new 4 week old kitten that I found without it's Mother, and I am using your video to guide me with the markers you have provided. This little one is about 4 weeks according to your timeline. Your love, caring and teaching is awesome. I have had this new little one for 3 days now. He must have had a good Mama until they were separated. I tried to find the Mama kitty with no luck, so I am taking care of him myself. Thank you so much for all your knowledge.
