I guess it could be used for Catinery wire for suspending light weight cables overhead as well especially if they were for a temporary supply like a builders site cabin
Great idea Paul - perhaps we should mock one up and ask the team to try a spot of tight rope walking.
@@efixx we use a similar product called a "Gripple" it uses a ratchet/clutch like these to hold tension for farm wire fences. The issue we found is with catinery wire it chews into the plastic coating and slips. So we have to strip the plastic off.
@@efixx ł Ł
@@TehBIGrat we use gripple to hang spiral ductwork with as well.
Dude light weight wires? You can hang a person with aircraft cables.
These look far easier to adjust than the Gripple ones I was given a couple of weeks back.
I found them simple to install and I have another video coming out soon using cable tray 👍🏻.
It really is as easy as the video suggests 😉
Its way easy then gripple ones
And like gripple once you get weight on them they are hard to adjust.
How often do you need to adjust them? Ill mayby use them twice. After their going in the trash. I use them for heavy stuff
Can these hold the weight of a medium to large human? Asking for a friend
SWL 56kg (athletic friend) or maximum load 280kg (big friend)
😂😂😂
I get what you mean there 😂😂
Literally has the same thought, don't know why garage rafters always make me think someone gonna neck themselves.

I was thinking a few day’s ago how no one has come up with a reusable zip tie. I guess this is pretty dam close.
They have reusable zip ties bud.
There are zip ties that have a button at the clasp to press and release.
Well there you go. Learn something each day.
@@lukeclarke8054 these are made in many different forms and i use them all the time to hang heating and cooling from. They have loop attachments, 1/4", and 3/8" bolt ends to screw into anchors called sammys or beam clamps. Also use another form of these wires for sisemic hangers to control sway of larger units and duct. Duradyne and gripple are two other names of these.
F yes. Love these. If you can manage to squeeze the two together in opposite directions you can repel it. Very good tool/ gadget.
Thanks, now i can hang in fancy
🤦🏻♂️
No Allen keys to mess around with unlike the gripple ones?? these look great 👍
So simple to use even Gaz could work this system 😃👍🏻
So quick. So easy. Fantastic video lads, thanks!
👍🏻
These have been out for years, tin bashers use them to hang spiral ducts. Probably be cheaper than looking for the deligo branded ones if they’re aimed at sparks.
I usually get called Tin Bender never heard Tin Basher. Not sure which one I like more haha
@@thellama3239 Tin Knocker is the correct term. The connector pieces are actually pretty expensive.
@@triplebogey233 never heard tin knocker either, probably a regional thing.
These look really cool. Out of interest, would these need to be sleeved when hung from a metal beam? I did some work for an events company which rigged bars for hanging equipment with steel wire rope and they told me they had to ensure there was no direct metal to metal contact. They would use wire rope sleeved with PVC or even wrap some burlap around the beam they were hanging equipment from (though, granted, they were rigging significantly heavier loads and using much thicker gauge wire rope!)
For the application you're describing (suspended loads for temporary installations), yes you should avoid using unsleeved steel wire rope over metal beams... 1. With rigging points often being hung over and over in similar places, the repeated steel-on-steel application can cause wear to the beam over time. More likely, this will cause wear to the protective coating on the steel beam (paint) which can lead to future issues. 2. Vibrations (present during live events) can cause premature wear of the beam and the wire. 3. Sharp corners ("I" or box-section beams) can cause kinks or separation of the steel wire. In entertainment, we get around this in a number of ways... 1. Use "coated" steels, often clear* flexible PVC hose (similar design to garden hose) slipped over the steel wire rope during manufacture. 2. Use burlap over the beam, as you mentioned. 3. Use polyester round-slings, backed up with an uncoated steel for use in case of fire. 4. Use a "soft steel" round sling, which contains many wraps of a thinner steel wire rope nside a sleeve. For the application demonstrated here, the loads and use case probably doesn't require a similar solution. However it would be trivial to add some clear PVC sleeving to the wire during installation. *clear hose is used to allow for the mandatory periodic inspection of the steel wire.
@@xp677 very interesting. Thanks for that detailed insightful response! 👍
Also whenever dissimilar metals contact they can begin to corrode
Was just about to say I would never trust that to hold anything, but then I saw it was an eFIXX video, now I'm genuinely considering it 🤔
54kg SWL 👍
These work perfect for hanging spiral HVAC duct.
I don’t know what happened but I liked it 👀
This is too nice to be bought and let it sit on the ceiling without using it ever again.
Used in the HVAC field too
Use these for duct work all the time. Fun story two 10ft wires were uncut and a scissor lift drove into them and it actually lifted up the front of the lift before the 2 inch eye screws popped out of the concrete ceiling. Still used the same hangars after w no problem🤘 keep rockin bro
I need this invention so much. I hate every time I had to tie my own to hang myself properly
Great job eFixx
Thanks
What specific kind is that wire cable cutter i need one
Amazing!
those work perfectly as a manual bolito, if you can't get access to or make an automatic one. it's less work than using a regular garotte too.
These gripples saved my ass in a horse barn one time
👍🏻
What you're saying is you strangled a mad horse
Looks perfect for grow rooms
Классная удобная штуковина!👍🔥
When you want to end it but don’t know how to tie a rope
modern emokids are into this stuff huh?
That's satisfying.
Thanks 👍🏻
What cutters are those? Seriously anyone know?
Pretty expensive way to hang it, but it works
Only bad thing about those is that we kept running out of them while doing duct work
What do you do with the cut end?
100W Slyvania? Do you use the chain and clip with these?
What kind of snippers were those?
Zip ties work just as good
I use these all the time
I use them to hang trunk line
Nothing wrong with jack chain, although I have used similar wire hangers and they where popular for a while then unobtainable
We use those for round duct.
that's a good way to go out
I use hooks for hanging its much fun
Skip the cable grabs, what's that pair of snips he used? Looks like a tiny version of the Klein cutters
Looks like it would make a really evil and effective garrote too!
Can you let me know where can buy this fitting?
I've got one of them I call it a zip tie
what is this product called?
Super 👏🏾👏🏾👌🏾🤓
Am I supposed to pretend like this is a new product? I’ve never hung something up with aircraft cable without using one of those clip things
Just wondering, what wire is that?
Zinc plated steel wire
Wire crimping with copper tube. Even if you need to remove. Copper snips off easily. Cost of copper tubing is cheap.
What the name of this tool and the anther one it's cuat an cable wire so fast and easy
Now I don't have to make a noose
Where can you buy these? And not available in America
Wait till Bubba Wallace sees that sh!t.🤣🤣🤣
I hate these things. This design is a little better than the ones I used. Always got stuck never slid along the cable
I ran that cable straight though my thumb at work. Not a fun day
Nice..
Can it support average body weight ? I don't want my collection to fall off...
Up to 54 kilograms, that's roughly a middle schooler
@@archivushka enough for me
Put the part through the hoop as well
Can this hold about 185lbs?
штука интересная, но цена явно неадекватная. И для ламп достаточно алюминиевой вставки под обжим и минимум в 10 раз дешевле
reminds me of hand cuff mechanism
В фильме советник была похожая штука, только с мотором и струной, голову отрезала
So alternative to zip ties to hang something ?
The wire is 3 meters long so would need to be a big zip tie

Zip ties all day!
For handing those buff mice
For hibay lighting also can...
I have that same light lol 24000 lux 😳

only been on the market the last 10 years
And still people use jack chain
There similar to the zip clip ones.
Are they also tool less…?
@@efixx yes exactly like those. Our company use them all the time hanging track lights in supermarkets
Hi,@@scottsparky1 our full range of Suspension Kits are also supplied in single drop packs (no need to buy 10 where not required) 😉 - available at your local wholesaler, ask for Deligo's HangTyte Wire Suspension Kits.
@@efixx toolless, cheap and pretty much the industry standard (at least on shopfitting) along with gripple. Rated to 50kg per wire/clip and easily available from rexel Maybe a longer video explain why these are as good if not better? Tho I will admit, for somebody never used catenery systems before and maybe still using chain, these must seem like magic

So I don't need a noose to hang myself anymore?
Great 👍 stay with us
That "next video" advert at the end blocking the actual product is a killer :\

You can do that with a zip tie in 3 minutes

Oof, I wouldn't trust anything like that in my home never mind workplace. There's a reason we have properly made drop arrest safety bonds on studio lighting, not this weird clutch-reliant temporary stuff. Nice video though 😂👍
If you've worked in a large office or been in a large shop with a suspended ceiling, you've walked under these a thousand times. Used to suspend large lights incase the ceiling collapses. Also used on ventilation systems. Very foolish and naive to make a statement about something you've never used or held. As a spark, I've used these for twenty years with zero issues. I take it you are against pully systems and catenary wires?
@@elliotwilliams7421 I speak about what I know, and that piece of kit would not be acceptable for load bearing in my work context as it has an obvious fail-unsafe mode with no arrest. Catenary wire I’m _less_ bothered. Ok, installation leaves wire under tension, but requires competency in calculating max load, operating tension and fit. Then you should have multiple wire rope grips for redundancy and load spreading, plus the grips get torqued down when fitted so have more clamping force. Clearly this is a safe method as we have lifts :-) The pulley and pantograph systems we use are designed such that their resting state is effectively gravity locked, or the wire arrest safety factors are at least >10. I’ve no doubt that you can buy these clutch systems rated for 5, 10 times the hung load and they sit forever once installed. But the way in which it _could_ fail seems much more dangerous than a catenary unless that snapped at a midpoint (hopefully not due to gauge and rating). Perhaps I’m more risk averse due to the sector I work in, we’re flying unusual loads with significant localised heat generation and objects which can be repositioned by people quite often. Industry requirements are more stringent than for static office tube strips or ceiling tiles. And I’ve learned to have a healthy paranoia about load ratings and failure modes.
@@ChristopherWoods you aren't speaking about what you know, you've never used them but claimed you wouldn't use them in your house, let alone the workplace. I accept they aren't suitable for all situations, nobody said they were. Just pointing out that they are suitable and used commonly in residential and commercial situations after you suggested they aren't. You might be over cautious, but these work perfectly and are cost and time effective.
@@ChristopherWoods since your so clued up on load specs and safety, you would know that these things come with a data sheet and application use. You overreacted to something you don't know about and made, by all accounts, a false claim about their use in residential situations and then wrongly claimed you only speak about what you know. I think you just like the sound of your own voice and are too arrogant to accept you're initial statement was based on nothing.
It’s just a more expensive zip tie
