No One Could Catch this Giant Stray Great Pyrenees Until... | The Dodo

As soon as Megan heard about Miles, she jumped in her car and drove down to the small, rural California town where he lived. It didn’t take long to find him, but catching him was a different story. His life has changed so much since that day!

However regardless if this is staged or not, the reality is that type of dog breed is almost always patient and easy going with humans regardless of the event. So I’m saying this could be real, also he’s seen their faces multiple times and knows they aren’t out to hurt him. • My guy Willie is a Pyrenees mix with a story similar to Miles - he was found locked in a closet in an abandoned house, and was scared of his own shadow when he came to me. Didn't bark, wasn't dog friendly, couldn't walk on leashes, was confused by toys. We celebrated our one year anniversary this week, and he's snoozing on the couch next to me after a long afternoon of playing tug-of-war with his friends at the dog park. It took so long for us to get here, and there were times I wondered if we'd ever make it. But I wouldn't trade one moment of the journey with him‚ and I bet Megan feels much the same.

Mine was also a stray, he was a big oaf, might kill you with kisses. I had him from the age of about 5 to about 11. I was heartbroken when he passed away. I have had probably 15 dogs (I am 62 now) but I think he still makes me feel the most loved by any of them and they were all great dogs (except 1, to much abuse in past, you couldnt turn your back on him). all but 4 of my dogs were street rescues or strays and the other 4 were given to me by friends who could no longer keep them....Thanks so much for bringing me back to one of the happiest times of my life and reliving memories of one of my bestest friends including the human type I have ever had. • My wife and I had a stray Pyrenees for many years. Wonderful, gentle dog. Didn't have a mean bone in her body. We kept her to guard some sheep. She couldn't care less about sheep, but was very protective of the pasture, and we never lost any sheep under her protection. She also liked to roam, and it took a lot of training for her to learn to stay home. She was also an escape artist, and could climb over a 5 foot gate to get in the chicken yard... which she could not escape from. Finally she settled down, and we could leave her outside the fence perimeter. Every morning and evening she would stroll around the property perimeter to make sure all was in order. She stayed outside in all kinds of weather, and stood her duty. She was also great with kids, and they would ride her around like a pony. She died in the kennel on an especially stormy night. I found her on the floor in the morning, and it looked like she was sleeping. I buried her in a shady spot where she used to lounge on hot days. She was the best...
