Im ready to watch 4 hours of how he structured this album
x2
true
As an artist I stand by this. It's very comforting to know that even big artist name is afraid to be rejected from something they feel truly connected to.
This guy is a total synthlord. Look at that blimming spaceship control room he's working in. It makes a 747 cockpit look like Fisher-Price.
Not true
The analog side of the synth is a pathway to many sounds, some considered to be unnatural.
@@Luminon87 doubt it
I went into this album expecting more traditional songs like his last 2 albums, so after my 1st listen i was disappointed because I already built it up in my head. Ive since listened to the album straight through 15 times probably and it's incredible. Thank you James Blake!!!
He truly made us work for the album, and I love it!
Exactly! I didn't like it much in the first listen, but I now love it and he's insane live.
Absolutely same! Not my kind of music principally, but there is loads of James magic in it. So I can't help to absolutely love it
Mr. Blake's music is so heavenly, inspirational and poetic. Blessing with each listen.
What makes you say that exactly?
@@leif1075 What do you mean? It's just how I feel.
I've never listened to another James Blake album, and never really (before this introduced me) listened to any kind of electronic music. This is far and away the best album I heard last year, and coming very quickly to be one of my favourites ever
My favourite album from james is the first one. He was so open creatively and so unbound by convention it was like a breath of fresh air. The new album has that same spirit of fearless experimentation and openness to sonic discovery which is why james is your favourite musicians favourite musician. Totally brilliant james. Keep going and dont be afraid.
This album is like a homecoming to the core of the art and sound that is distinctly James Blake. Happy to have the weird, experimental, and innovative JB sound we all initially fell in love with.
Too unique and sonically beautiful
I've been a fan since the first release and I love the new album too. It's decidedly James Blake, have no fears about that. It's wonderful.
He is right about choosing songs that will feel like they're lifting you up spiritually. Felt exactly that especially on Night Sky
Love you James, listening to the album a lot. Amazing. ❤
20 Years later still get chills
big ups james blake for creating this album. i hope that this really means that you are embrace to create more on electronic music side in your future project.
This album inspired me so much to make music. My present and future self thank you for sharing this piece of art with the world.
Good luck
One the best artists right now and certainly one of the best artists using a monstrous collage of eurorack to make albums.
he says he was worried about people not accepting it and that the album was too crazy. The thing I like about the album is that it is too crazy! I love the experimental side of his music.
Always enjoy a ''making of the album''! Way to few artists do it these days, it's so inspiring
This is everything I want to see about a beast like him, the behind the scenes, to see him work 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thank you for sharing your world with us, for inspiring us. This album is a gift to everyone.
What makes you saybthat exactly? And how do you come upmwith your own musical ideas especially melodies and lyrics? I'd love to know. I'm an aspiring composer. Thanks
The art direction for the album and everything surrounding it is perfect
Love you James!
GOD MUSIC✨✨✨
I got chills through this whole song…my god.
such great song
This album is the most exciting, whole and authentic work of music I’ve heard in a long time. Absolutely Inspiring 🖤
"..feelings of ascention.../ honest power ... harmonic ..." feed many of certain us and yet so many and a blessed smile within. Thank you.
James, you’ve grown wiser as you’ve grown older. I am so happy you found a way to tap into your momentary true self and work that into a piece of music. I so so love that you are doing music that you probably enjoy listening to in your private time. This is such a beautiful love letter to London, the textures are exquisite and your production skills are on full display! I congratulate you on deciding to invite Bowers & Wilkins to capture a glimpse from your intimate surroundings and I think you will also reap the benefits of that partnerships as you explore different routes to take as a contemporary musician and a public persona. Congratulations, yet again you did it! 💞
James has moved up my list of favorite artists. Top 4 for me.
You are a true inspiration. We need more of your modular work! 🤘
The title track "Playing Robots in Heaven" really hit me on a spiritual level. It's one of the most soul piercing pieces of audio I've ever heard. It has such a classical feeling, while being obviously dissonant, it's like a mix of watching Interstellar and mourning in a large catholic church for me.
Bro since I hear first time The Wilhelm Scream song I knew that you are music Genius!!!!!! Big UP❤
This is your best album ever
absolutely love the album, actually think it’s one of his more accessible and I just don’t get how the critics are not loving it as well
A true visionary
This is unreal!
I too work in fragments and chaos and often create without intent, but rather let what’s going to happen, happen. The upside to that is it’s great at processing feelings and stress, but the downside is I have literally several thousand 20-80 minute recordings of ‘in the moment’ quality (unedited with questionable mix) mixdowns, discrete multitrack stems, and primarily absolute garbage recorded…BUT, each ‘jam’ or free running collage or whatever the case may be DOES has a gem or 3. And everything has been resampled so many times I’m not even sure what machine I originated or resampled or processed many of these sounds on. It’s so incredibly overwhelming and it’s just more incomprehensible over many years at this point…but not only is ‘Playing Robots Into Heaven’ a phenomenal and compellingly honest collection of works (I’ve listened causally twice, and straight through with my best headphones 3 times, with focus), but it seems to have already given me the permission structure I apparently needed to begin the editing process. I am very much looking forward to whatever insight is shared in this series. How to build something from these has been painfully elusive, but I have a strong feeling that once it clicks, it’ll practically finish itself. Thanks for sharing, it’s already made a difference in the way I’m approaching my first attempt to actually compile a release. It’s never been about that, but now I get it: I owe it to myself to see it through, one album at a time.
Love your album (and all of your work of course), it definitely feels the passion you put into it and the way you diving yourself deep into the process you really love, that is... really special! I can confidently say that you are one of the few artists, who really inspires me to never stop creating or lose my own path and always be passionate about it. Thank you James, waiting for your new songs or album, it's like waiting for Christmas but even better.
genuinely blown away by this album more and more each time I listen. I can really feel just how true this expression was james & for that, I salute you. truly beautiful 🤍
In my opinion, this is the best album of James Blake
A peek into James' artistic process is exactly what I needed. I hope there are going to be like 100 more parts of this!
Playing Robots Into Heaven is absolutely nasty. In the absolute best of ways. Great to hear that James feels like it represents him so well, I love hearing music that the artist loves and isn't created to please people.
Props to whoever was behind filming and editing this. Those monitor shots were incredible!
It’s a work of art, James. Thank you for taking the risk and dropping it. 🥂
Love to see this sorta behind the scenes of the album!
So dramatic yet so calming
love the way that you've passed to create such a pearl. listening to since the time of the 1st album and absolutely adore how it evolves. each step is very close to me
would love to hear the throwaways. nothing is "too crazy" at this point
Absolutely fantastic
one of the greatest ever. love this man

BRILLIANT!!!
Totally in the right direction ! Very courageous, ambitious and pertinent ! Bravo
It's fascinating to approach (on screen of course) your creative process. This video really makes you want to see more. But the most important thing is that your music is for me one of the most brilliant of recent decades. Continue to dazzle us, to move us beyond reason. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Mr. James Blake.
Don't worry if people will ever accept you. What you create and make for yourself, is you - Do it For You !
Always and forever inspiring.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fucking genius he is! 🎉
Wouahouuuuu 🎉❤
Funny how I wished you included in the album those modular jams that sounded discordant. I really wanted to hear a lot more experimentation from the album. Well, I hope PRIH is the first out of many more weird James Blake records!
