Just bought my pair and dongle cable or not my pc is in a hyte y60 case so the usb type c is on the front panel opposite of the usb 3.2 ports so it doesn’t block anything I would say based on what platform your playing on that issue might only exist within the PlayStation playerbase
Also I used your affiliate link ✌🏻first time watching the channel was just checking out headphones but I appreciate the straight forward look at these headphones and I’m excited for them ordered them today and they’ll arrive by 10pm Let’s Go!
Hey I need some help I buy it like a week ago and quality sounds is really bad, do you use engine or sonar or nothing for the headset ?
Just an all around good review. Clear concise, & informative to the letter. I appreciate the upload, I'm sure that all your viewers do!
I appreciate the feedback, thank you and thanks for watching 🤝
Loved the run on the audio on the microphone. @@TomasVillegas
Thank you so much! It was a really great source of information before purchasing my Nova 7 headphones. Keep up the good work 🔥
Did you buy it ?
Great review! I'm going to buy one for my daughter now. Thanks a lot dude. Happy holidays!
Thanks for watching and happy holidays to you and your family 👍
bought it today and i dont regret it at all! the best Headset ive ever used. Steelseries never dissapoint
Do you use it for console or pc? What eq settings do you use?
for the dongle ... you have a cable that come with it to plug the dongle on it and dont block you other port. :)
It's 1 dongle in one port cable or not, no ?
@DANEO617 it's wide, so it blocks the adjacent USB's
Hahaha so that’s what that cable is for 😂😂😂, I feel so dumb thank you! My ps5 usb c port is finally free again
Dongle needs fixing. Do not excuse big companies for bad desings
@CapitanFALCON809 I wasn't excusing them, I was letting them know why it covers more than one port without the cable
really great review video... you hit all the issues I wanted to learn about!
Appreciate the feedback, thank you. 🤝
Hi! Just to mention that the advised/mentioned 7X is working all platforms true, but the chatmix function works only on Xbox. I guess that this same limitation occurs on each model, as I understood that the chatmix feature requires a special hardware.
Thanks for the info!
Man I like ur review! I enjoy it a lot! Very down to earth
Thank you for the compliment 🤝
Nicely done T!
Appreciate it bro, thank you 🤝
I have been watching headset reviews and wasting my time for the last 2 weeks and still couldn't make my mind up. This video convinced me to get these and early impressions - I was pleasantly surprised. This thing beats even the Jabra 2Evovle75 which goes for twice the price. This is much easier, cheaper and better value. Thank you for a solid honest review.
I’m glad you are enjoying them. I still use mine a ton. They’re great. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching 🤝
I'm in the same boat I'm trying to find a new headset and I'm looking to make a considerable upgrade. I currently have the super cheap ps4 turtle beaches I got when I got my ps4 in 2017. It's not even wireless. I don't have access to a pc with windows or anything to be able to do updates or make adjustments so thats been my biggest turn away from a lot of headsets
Great comprehensive review. I've been trying to figure out why the volume seems so low. My buddy has the nova pro, and told me about a volume limiter. Does that change that setting in general, or only for the PC?
is pro better than this ?
@@SSH01yes, people say the wired nova pro is the best for console gaming. If you’re using a pc then nova pro wireless is a good choice
Good informative review I appreciate it! Did you have to replace the battery at all? This is my only worry, IF and WHEN I'll need a battery, might be a hassle to get one..
Haven’t had any battery issues. Headset still going strong. Thanks for the feedback 🤝
Having problems with the razer kaira pro looking at different options dont know hpw these stack up against the kaira pros
For those that love these headphones, but don’t like the depth of the cushions, get yourself a pair of Wicked Cushions. Solves this problem 100%. Plus, as if these headphones weren’t comfortable enough already, the Wicked Cushions add even more comfort with their cooling gel, as well as adding better audio with their passive noise cancellation locking in even more sound. All in all, makes these headphones even better than they already are!!
This is a fantastic recommendation. Thanks for sharing.
@@TomasVillegas Of course!!
Where can I get wicked cushions?
@@byberlin1Amazon have them I’m going to get some for my Nova 7
Thanks for the review
Thanks for watching 👍
Thank you for your honest review, I have the corsair virtuoso and my head hurts after 20-30 minutes of using it, I see this headset looks lighweigth do you have this issue while using it?
It’s probably one of the most comfortable headsets I’ve used. Especially when compared to those. 👍
7:40 They give you cables so you won’t block the usb port.
he mentioned that just its sort of an annoyance to have to put a dongle into a dongle for it to work and then it takes up the usb a port as i dont think there was a usb c extender so no problem was really solved there youd have to buy a usbc extender to solve it but thats just wasted money that you shouldn't really have had to spend in the first place
@@zxl7204 ok man
Would it be possible to connect the Dongle to a Desktop PC for Gaming and such and then connect the Bluetooth to a Laptop?? Or is bluetooth only limited to Phones and Tablets?
First of all, thanks for the nice and detailed review. Im about to pull the trigger on the nova pro wireless because i like the extras and especially the design for a daily use. Thats why i want to use them also at work for music and phonecalls, having them connected to my iphone BUT, for nearly 350 bucks i need to know this, are the Equalizer-settings good when theyre connected to my phone or do i have to or rather CAN i change the Equalizer-settings for the bluetooth/smartphone-connection?
Great review dude , i have one question about dongle , if its usb-c how do you plug it in your PC?, maybe im stupid or something but that is my only concern about them.
PCs usually have USB-C. If not, you’ll have to use a dongle there too.
but why would you but eh Nova 7 or the Nova 7P? Do any of them have any benefit against the 7X that are compatible with any device?
I've bought it. The earpad is too shallow for me. My ear can touch the bottom... Also it's a bit small, not so comfortable for big head. The sound quality is pretty good and latency is negligible.
Can you pause/play videos from the headset directly?
If I have no issues with steelseriesarctis 1 headphones (theyre comfortable and sound quality is ok) will I like arctis nova 7? The main reason I want to upgrade is because steelseries 1 is currently only device I still have that has crappy micro usb. I want to get rid of that for good and have everything on usb c. I hope nova 7 has better sound quality than steelseries 1 though. Steelseries 1 doesnt have bad sound quality, its just average, not great but not bad either but I would prefer something with little better sound quality.
Great review bro! I've had the Nova 7s for a month now and it's starting to seem like the hinge where the earcups meet the headband are getting loose. For example when you extended the headbands at 4:53, you can see the hinge widen/flex a little bit. I noticed that that's a pretty common breaking point for the Arctis Nova Pro/7s. What is your experience on this after 6 months?
I haven’t seen or felt anything loosen or get worn over time. I can seen were it may eventually wear out if you were to use these everyday for years. But I wouldn’t worry about it, the hinge is holding up well. 👍 Thanks for watching.
I had this breaking point happen on my OG Arctis 7 Wireless. They lasted roughly 3.7 Years before it actually cracked fully through and went (Still works with duct tape)
Do you reckon you could glue it instead? Duct tape is such a last resort
@@Chiz1992 5 months later, never really had any issues, I would say it's 10-15% looser from when I got it. Also, whenever I would put on/take off the headset, I would pull it apart from the metal band as opposed to pulling it apart from holding the earcups.
@SevenskyGaming thanks for the reply. I think I'll get these then, the only issue I seem to have is the mic quality which sounds pretty awful
I've recently bought the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X due to it's multi-platform connectivity, the fact that it has a dongle ánd an aux cable for wired use and mostly, because of many experienced people saying it's a good headset. Sadly for me, mine has some issues and I don't know how to fix them (yet). Firstly, when I record a video on my PS5 and watch it back later, (EA FC 24) my voice sounds a bit elektronic during random moments every several sentences despite me lowering the mic volume to 50% or so because of the max mic level being too loud and my voice then making the mic pop. I haven't heard the many, many tech youtubers I watched mention this problem at all. The mic also doesn't sound like a 150 dollar headset level mic but more like a budget headset's mic. I've also used the Steelseries GG app's engine to adjust the settings, including the mic, to make them better based on tech youtubers' tips. The headset also occasionally loses connection with the dongle whether I use the extension cord with it or the dongle on it's own despite the fact that I'm only a couple of meter away from the dongle. My brother has the same headset and we use ours simultanuously on PS5 to make video's for ourselves and he has more of a static hiss when his headset is on while I experience more of a robot voice during every few words used in every few sentences. Does anyone have any useful solutions to maybe help make this headset worth it's cost?
Now that is worrisome. Every YT review I've seen it's old. So they bought the first batch. What if something changed with the latest production and aren't been made the same. I was currently looking at them. And it wouldn't be the first time a tech product changes manufacturing halfway it's life. Without any name change or anything. Has there been any fix on the last 2 months? It's not a cheap headset. I'm worried about spending that much.
@@Omizuke As far as I know, there has not been any fix for the problem. I've had a bit more time to experiment and nothing's changed since. The somewhat electronic-sounding voice is not there when you use the 3.5 mm cable but it means you can't use bluetooth or the dongle at the same time as using the 3.5 mm cable. Using it with dogle means you can use simultanious bluetooth. I've also noticed that the volume of sound being output through the headset's mic when using the dongle is much softer (3x as soft) as by using the direct input through the 3.5 mm cable. I've e-mailed the manufactorer and they said it sounds like I've got a somewhat faulty Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X and to send it for repair but then again, my brother has the exact same one and has some issues with it as well such as hearing more of a buzz when connected to a PS5 controller through the included 3.5 mm cable, the mic being quite sensitive to breathing noises (mine is too) etc. On the other hand, couch-co-op, which we use it for, is quite the unique setup compared to how most reviewers have used it and on pc, more of the headset's good highlights could come out. Based on how I use it, I would advise you not to buy this one (yet). Sorry about the long answer but I guess it's better to be well-informed than to be left with many questions.
@@VinRoo1989I see one problem, you said 7X when that’s made for xbox
@@nickstehr3610 The Xbox version works on PS5 too. In dozens of reviews that I saw, it was specifically mentioned so that should not be the problem.
Maybe a dumb question, but can you connect them to PC via bluetooth? My laptop doesn’t have a USB-C port but there is a USB-A to USB-C adapter coming with the headset, right? Just want to be completely sure when buying it, it still ain’t exactly cheap…
is the software fire and forget? or do i have to keep it installed for the headphones to work...
Do you get two audio outputs like one for discord (chat) and then another for gaming so if you clip your gameplay you won’t hear your friends talking in the background??
Yeah you good do that with the sonar function
8:00 Wow, I was sold on the headphones up until this point - forcing you to give up both USB slots is really bad. Have they made any updated models with a different dongle?
Yes it comes with dongle
My main way of playing is PC. I want to buy a white headset and them being white is a must for me. Unfortunately the Arctis Nova 7 does not come in white, only the 7x and 7p. I am wondering is there a real benefit for buying the 7 for pc over 7x? Would I be missing out on quality on my PC if I bought the Arctis Nova 7x vs Arctis Nova 7? To reiterate, I know they are both compatible with both, but do they actually work better for their indented platform?
Hey thx for the testing video i have a question, I'm from Taiwan, and i love the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X, but i didn't have it yet. and in Taiwan, we don't have the testing video or something user comments. the Nova 7X in Taiwan, the price is almost the same as the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro 2023, so i really want to know how you guys chose. Thanks for the video!! (I'm love the Nova 7X more, but I just don't know how to choose lol)
For the dongke couldnt you just use it from the controllers C? I found it pretty weird you put it on your console
Are these the new ones w/ the new Mic?
Does anyone know if I should get these instead of the nova pros? I do like sound cancelling and I have the cash but I’ve seen some reviews saying sound isn’t best on the pros
Can you use a USB adapter on the new Xbox series X to make 1 USB slot into 3 ???
good thing you highlights the compatibility part because people would blindly buy those and not paying attention to model mame
Recently got it and it works great. But now it won’t turn on and it’s only been a few days. Light comes on when it’s charging but when I go to turn em on it won’t power up
nice review ty!
Thanks for watching!
Steelseries is top . I bought my previous wired headset from steelseries , the Siberia v2 , and it almost lasted 8 years on heavy usage. And only the cable and sound control started to malfunction. The sound was amazing. Now i have a Nova 7 wireless and it's just awesome. I tried a JBL and that was garbage.
Great review. I was actually thinking of getting the Diablo headset but wasn't sure. Now I think I will pick it up. I have the Cyberpunk Arctis 1.
They look awesome. I’d totally pick them up if I didn’t have them already. Thanks for watching.
Nice review. Before i started watching your review i was wondering about the dongle and if it would block the USB port. For me it does not make sense how you can design and releasing a headset specifically designed for PS5 and miss that mark on a such important aspect. Well regardless i was glad i watched because i was just about to order it so thnx again.
Glad this helped your purchase decision 👍
Being that these can also connect to your phone via Bluetooth, would I also be able to connect these to my Fire Tv or smart tv? I’d love to find one pair of headphones that I can use for gaming and movies. Now, granted, I completely understand that my Xbox Series X can also stream Netflix and other entertainment apps, but I was just.curious if it could also work with my Fire Tv. Thanks!
If your TV accepts Bluetooth then there's no reason they couldn't work. I know that any of my Bluetooth earbuds/headphones work with my LG C1. Cheaper TVs typically don't have a Bluetooth option though.
My buddy sold me his d4 steel serie headset n I’m hyped I just bought the razor barracuda x n that headset one my fav headset til I get my nova 7
You like these or the Inzone H7 for ps5 more? Both are around the same price right now.
H7 for PS5 for sure.
Hello! This or the g535 logitech wireless? Thanks
Very helpful comprehensive review thanks 👍
Thanks for watching and for the feedback 🤝
I was lucky enough to snag a pair of these for $80 on amazon. They are arriving in 3 days, I cant fricken wait.
That’s friggin awesome. You’ll love them even more 👍
This was a really great review sir. Well done.
Appreciate your feedback. Thank you 🤝
Could you test these by using the adaper for the dongle and then without by plugging it directly to the ps5 usb c port. I have rig 600 pro which is also budget friendy and they sound much better without the adapter.
Please and thank you for your time.
Nova 7P OR Hyperx cloud 3 wireless? For ps5
My mic picks up the most quietest noises and has a muffled sound penetrating through that is loud within gameplay . I always have others telling me to turn it off and that it’s a cheap mic. How can I fix this issue .
Just bought them yesterday , but my feedback online gaming saying they hear nothing but static noise, what can I do ? Is on a ps5
Does this still have the same issue where the sound in one of the speakers like dies out but when you move the volume wheel it goes back on, had this issue with the arctis 7😊
I have hissing on right cup at 2.4ghz pretty low tho but I hear it.
So if I understand correctly, these headphones do have properly working game / chat balance control for PC? Its just for PS and XBOX that dont work? For PC just plug in the dongle and you are good to go, right?
Correct. Running their GG app gives you a tone of features and customization options. And dongles will allow you to use the headphones as normal.
Hey how you doing, so i currently have a pair of steelseries 7p+ and im looking for an upgrade/change I mostly play call of duty and currently have the Hyperx cloud 2 wireless Corsair hs80 And steelseries artic nova 7p wireless In my cart Which one do you consider as an upgrade and a recommendation
Haven’t used the others you named. The 7P are a solid pair of headphones. 👍
im play shooting games on pc its worth or logitech?
I like the microphone on this headset, but the only thing I don't like about it is that s's are harsh compared to how loud the mic volume actually is..can you tune that in the app?
steelseries sonar maybe
If the battery goes totally drained, would the USB-C (say to PC/laptop) work? Same for the 3.5 mm jack?
Yes
I cant connect this headphones to GG app what i should do?
Do you still prefer the arctis pro over the nova 7x to this day? I'm thinking about purchasing the pros
Yes. The Arctis Pro Wireless are better in my opinion.
Currently black friday deal for 120, guess imma get some
They sound better than the pro wireless too. Something about ANC that makes the pros not sound as full. Bought them both.
Thanks for sharing your experience 👍
Are they multipoint?
I was using Arctis 9 but yesterday it suddenly bricked. Even its fully charged it wont connect to dongle and turns off after flashing one red blink. I consider to buy Nova 7 instead but still not sure if its worth to buy this after Artics 9?
did you try the reset button under the earmuff
Now is this good for moving the head?
Which one's better in terms of Sound Quality .. Inzone H7/H9 ? or THIS ? Im in dilemma right now
Which one did you get? I'm trying to decide between the same two headsets
@@wrteyrtui I got the H9 , it sounds FANTASTIC , Noise Cancellation is aitt since I have XM4 , the comforts its good but its kinda HOT so I sweat alot im not sure about the Arctis but I heard its more to a harsh highs .. while the H9 sounds better than my old Sony XM3
You can use the cable to put the dongle in, it still sucks but it does not block anything if you use that cable extension. Still stupid why its not just a usb a rectangle shaped like any other xbox dongle
i recently bought these like less than a week ago, does anyone know why i sometimes hear static noises? & someone told me they also sometimes hear static noises from my mic
Can someone please explain why my mic is not working on my ps5 when it comes to this headset. I know it’s the headset bc the mic on my ps5 controller works when I unplug my headset.
Can u turn on noise cancelling on and off. And can you skip songs using the headset
I dont think you should necessarily get a steelseries headset, their mainly made for gaming so song quality might not be as good as headphones that are made for music
Looking for a good headset for my son's birthday. I know there is no designated headset for Switch. Would you recommend this headset to work wireless with Switch?
These are far too expensive for a switch.
There’s a bunch of other more affordable options out there for a Switch. 👍
@@TomasVillegas Thank you for your reply. Would you be able to recommend some please? Unfortunately not brand is being sold in NZ. ☹
My son who is 10 plays Fortnite. I am not too keen for him to be close to a screen for a long time. Happy for him to screen to a TV and play. Hence the recommendation for s wireless headset.
and now they have WHITE VERSION!!!! love it so much!!!!
👊
🤨
even on pc, you’re sacrificing a USB-A port if plugged into motherboard. i been curious about this issue the last 24-48h when i googled this headset and seen the dongle😂 oh well. will probably plug it into the USB-C front port on my case
That’s true. It’s a really bad design IMHO. I wish they would rework it and start pushing it to their new production.
Did I understand it right, that the headphones are great except if you are using a ps5? So when I have a PS5 I should look for other ones?
If just for the PS5 then I think there are better options. If you use these for other things then I would definitely pick these over anything. 👍
I have ps5 which steelseries do u recommend for that
@@TomasVillegasok so i have rig 600 pro and I've noticed that they sound much better when the dongle is plugged directly into the ps5 usb c vs using the adapter. Not sure if this is an issue with just ps5 or what.
Please help. Just got the model. The mute button seems to be enabling transparency mode but at the same time turning on the mic. If I want to turn off transparency mode I also mute the mic ! I can't see anywhere in steeleseries app anything about disabling this shit !
I don't have that issue. Best bet it to reach out to their support.
@@TomasVillegas thanks for response but I figured it out. The right slider on the headphones is for adjustment of this transparent setting. I had it on max.
So they don’t work on ps5? I use my Xbox and ps5 looking for a headset that works for both.
If you get the 7x they are compatible with all Xbox PlayStation and PC (and switch)
I have tested many headsets and for me until today no1 beat steelseries Elite not for design but the sound quality, drivers and earcups...i remember that my friends ask me how can i listen footsteps much before they heard they ask me if i was using hacks... elite realy had a good sound quality, if you check the specs they are realy high level... they came in sequence after siberia v2 and v3 they was expensive for those days
What are you needing to use the port for? There are ports on the back, as well. Not a big deal, imo
Right over your head
Why do you think they put a port there? For you to not use it? That being said you can use the port that's blocked with the usb extender cable that comes with the headphones and plug the dongle in to it instead of the C port.
@@vongregor1i have the rig 600 pro which are budget friendly. I've noticed that they sound much better when plugging the dongle directly to my ps5 usb c port vs using the adapter. Not sure if this is an issue with other headsets.
i can only find the 7 version, they work on ps5? or only the 7p?
Check the video out 😉👍
I wanted the answer to this as well, think he said at the beginning, but I can’t see what the difference is between the 7 and the 7p either. Seem to have the same compatibility
Today I got the Arctis Nova 7P. When the power is switched on, I can hear a white noise at a certain volume. Is this normal?
Definitely recommend reaching out to their support. That’s not normal.
@@TomasVillegas Thanks for your answer. It only appears at high volume when no gaming sound or music is played, but it is actually really bad quality for a 160 Euro Headset. I will send it back.
IM getting these for free. so i think im good. its these or turtle beach 700 gen 2 .... still researching but this video helped a lot.
Should i buy this one or the the steelseries arctis 7p+ the price diffrent is almost 40$
Which did you decide? I’m also looking at the same options but I do have the regular 7s and they’re great just wondering if Nova is any better
used cloud alphas before they broke went back to use arctis 3 cause i thought why throw these into the trash where they belong incase better headphones break and they did i hope the novas fixed these previous arctis embarrassment cause im waiting to get DT 770 pro 80 ohms cause im sick of gaming headphones failing me except the cloud alphas for the price and sound they are best so far but i want a upgrade from them that can survive the apocalypse
so you cant use the bluetooth mode on the ps5 instead of the dongle?
Did u figure it out , my nova 7 isn’t connecting on ps5
great thx
This has been the glitchiest headset I've ever used. An "upgrade" from my wired Razors, I expected simple plug and play use. Instead, I have to adjust system and Discord settings every single time I turn them on. The proprietary support software is completely useless. I'll admit, when they do work, they sound fantastic and the input quality is amazing. Only been using them for about a week, so I'm still trying to get all the settings right. Super frustrated.
Definitely contact their support if you keep having issues.
Go into volume settings, and change the output device to “Arctis Nova 7” as it will probably be on “gaming” or “stereo” which for some reason makes you mess with the settings constantly Doing this helped me
Is there any low-pitched noise in your headphones?@@bz.27k15
With the 7P is anyone have a problem where you can hear yourself through the headphones when you talk?
Not personally no. They’re still running great.
Has anyone noticed the high-pitched noise that comes out of that right ear cup? I can't seem to find a fix and it's such an annoying tone, almost gives me a headache lol no "fix" online seems to help
Might be a good idea to contact SteelSeries support 🤷♂️
i recently bought a pair but i hear my own voice in the mic and i dont know how to fix it
me too brother im searching for help
Turn down or turn off the sidetone in the GG app and apply the settings to your headset.
This or the hyper x Cloud Alpha?
nova 7 or nova pro 100%
Hey, do we need the enormous dongle on PC ? Thanks !
There’s an extension USBC cable in the box so I wouldn’t worry about it.
So it’s only good if you have pc ?
No, it just offers more features of you do.
Can it work with a mobile phone?
Yes.
W 🐐
🫡
i just got them friday, they keep sliding off my little been head
USD 150 AUD 330. USD 150 converts to AUD 230.... Why we always get ripped off in Aus??? :( Still I got them thanks for the review
The strap is bad. It stretches out in just a couple months and the only way to get a new one is to pay $35 for a booster pack. Kinda expected more from them. Sound quality is pretty good but its not worth the hours of headache I get. The stap is useless and that makes the ear cussions push down on your ears. Bad headset.
I'm just gonna spend the 350 and get the Arctis Nova Pro's...imo worth the extra money b/c 1) Dongle isn't an issue 2) can hook up to any console and PC at same time and control your volume mix. TIRED OF WAITING FOR THEM TO STOP MAKING THESE STUPID DONGLES ON THEIR LOWER END PRODUCTS......
