    • @@leilariley936 Actually, she doesn't have to do anything. She owes nothing to anyone coming here in a hope - not to get to know her - but to hear her struggling with questions about drama and tea about her, confirming their opinion on her. Of course she will respond in a manner that won't harm her any further. Whoever comes from the healthy place and is aware of how vile her hate community is, wouldn't expect her to say anything that would make her even more vulnerable and open to attacks. Internet is endless when it comes to choices of who we want to follow and like. She is who she is. Owing nothing to anyone. Needles to point the obvious - the moment she doesn't do it for someone, they can move on to creator who does. It's that simple.

Regrettably, the interview lacked depth, offering no substantial information or exploration of topics. The episode left me disappointed as it only hinted at things without delving into specifics or naming them by name

    • It felt like a positive spin on everything, how a politician talks, but says nothing. Perhaps this is wise, not to be vulnerable, but I would’ve been open to understanding Lydia more, instead, it leaves things feeling more contrived. I see some people enjoyed and some people disliked.. I can’t sit through more than the first 11 mins because it’s like I’m being “sold” to.

  • Went into this very open minded, I'd watched some of her videos a really long time ago but she was never a Vlogger I subscribed to. I was therefore unaware of all the drama surrounding her...but to be honest i'm 20min in and bored. She doesn't come across as someone who is actually opening up. It feels inauthentic and spoken through brand image rather than an actual human with a life that's shaped her. Grace asks questions that would allow her to open up and create a connection but the response always feels very surface. As someone said in the comments she would make a good politician or crisis PR person...spinning any question as a chance to present what she wants to be true and rarely what actually is.

    @kjherrick91@kjherrick915 ай бұрын
    • If she didn't say anything, how did she manage to spin things and to present them differently than they actually are? People came here with preconceptions of who she is, most of them from her insanely toxic hate community, with desire to grasp on anything that can be used against her. She knows that. And she is entitled to protect herself. She said quite enough, she just didn't make herself vulnerable in a way some would wished and came for.

Even the dogs, cat, chickens, the riding come off as props rather than genuine parts of her life. That’s how it SEEMS to me which may or may not be true. • @@magdalenacwizyk1605It's not about "meeting" or "not meeting" mine or anyone's standards, it's about what I want to occupy my headspace at any point in time. Relatable means the creator is showcasing something that adds value to my life. I have no interest in gardening or having a super fancy closet (it literally doesn't match my lifestyle, no matter how much money I have). I'd rather watch something that will add richness to my life. Gardening does not do that for me, at this point in my life. Maybe one day, definitely not now. I can support her, but also not watch her content as it doesn't add much to my life at the moment. I'd much rather watch someone who wears similar things that I might, or has similar hobbies. • Lydia was a joy to watch years ago, before she moved into her current home. She was funny, self-deprecating, genuine, and totally herself. I think she had a great sense of style that was uniquely her own. She was beautiful and comfortable in her own skin, and I enjoyed every minute of her vlogs. Flash forward 6 years and I see a totally different person. To me, it’s been a very sad process watching her lose herself. We all change and grow over time, but I don’t view the changes I see in Lydia as being normal or healthy. I see a horribly insecure woman who is trying very hard to be seen in a certain way. I think her accent, the clothes she wears, the “interests” she talks about, and her projected lifestyle are all to appear wealthy and refined. In trying so hard to force it, she’s abandoned most of the authentically likable and interesting parts of personality. I chose not to watch her very often (maybe once or twice a year) and it leaves me feeling sorry for her. How I would’ve loved to have seen the real Lydia change and age authentically. I think she would be absolutely killing it. 😢

  • Lydia can't answer these questions properly, because she's trying to remember which version of events she has told about her life. On the one hand she says she couldn't live with her mother and her father lived miles away, but Northwood is definitely not miles away from anywhere. Also this old money Cotswolds aesthetic with the tweeds and the horses is horribly inauthentic. I think I saw a video of where she was gushing about buying an upright piano (that she can't play)for her mother (who she apparently doesn't get on with) and mentioned that she was going to put it in her house. Again nothing is authentic to Lydia - a piano she can't play because it looks good, a horseriding outfit for a horse she can't ride, and wearing tweeds in a country house that doesn't belong to her. It's horribly vacuous and lacks any true genuine reflection of anything that is her.

  • Why is Lydia dressed like she’s competing at a horse dressage event? This is precisely why she comes across as inauthentic 99% of the time. I love the way ballroom dancers dress, does that mean I dress that way each day and play make-believe in the hope that people think I’m something I’m not? She says she doesn’t find happiness in the money, and actually I think that is quite insightful because she strikes me as someone who’s deeply unhappy but yet not brave enough to step off the hamster wheel and find out who she truly is. The money provides her with the high from each unnecessary purchase, and it enables her to keep up with the Jones’ just like every ‘successful’/‘relevant’ influencer (hate that term) needs to be, but what it doesn’t provide her with is inner peace and humility. She severely lacks both IMO. Not hating, just what is see.

Grace, too, is also overtly vague whilst addressing Lydia's upbringing, learnings, and controversy. In part, the vague conversationalist theme throughout this interview is quintessentially tactful - eg, British. This was a significant opportunity for Lydia to come from a place of truth and vulnerability. She didn't take it. Instead, she opted to position herself as a brand writing an autobiography with decades of experience. She has 10. It's clear Lydia has a level of discomfort with vulnerability that's offputting to listeners. Her content is beautiful. Her substance is lacking.

Her man was in towie on the arm of Gemma Collins draped in gold paint and now his is Mrs buckets posh husband who also has a cringe posh voice. So sad to see that she thinks she had to change herself, so very insincere. And after reading some of the replies on these comments, looks like Lydia and Carrie are hard at work trying to defend themselves. She has done this to numerous previous so called friends stating broadly that they just don't have anything in common anymore ... there is no need to say this publicly. She also explained how her parents didn't fix her teeth, putting them in a bad light but she has spent more than most earn in a year on Hermes handbags, perhaps she should have spent it on her teeth instead of holding an obvious grudge again here parents. She is not doing vlogmas this year and now tells her audience to not spend time on KZhead but rather with family while choosing not to spend Christmas day with her family, especially her Mom. I could go on and on, just to explain why people get upset with her, it's not because of jealousy. Josie never puts anyone down, and shows pure joy in her everyday with authenticity.

    • @@LolaMelck Do you know what kind of people are your favorite actors or singers? Models? You don't. Because they don't have cameras in their faces and lives every day, so that you can judge them. For that reason precisely. They have PR teams and spin doctors whose job is to create their public image that you will find likable. That's why we didn't have clue what political convictions our favorite movie stars had back in a golden era of Hollywood, what their real sexual orientation was, what their views were on anything of substance really, even their religion, descent or relationship status were hidden in order not to polarize the audience and to allow everyone to create their own idolized image of them, seeing them as fair game and daydreaming about them. That's business and money making is the the goal. Today, you can see into lives of people who work for digital marketing industry/influencers. And that's fine as long as you don't take their personalities and lives personally and you don't get invested too much in the whole thing that doesn't affect you and your life in any way. That's rather unhealthy. BTW - Josie's and any other influencer's haters feel exactly the same way about her. • I'm so sorry you feel that way! Here are some things that I learned, hopefully this helps you! 1. We should focus on "counsel cultur"e, instead of "cancel culture". This means that when someone messes up, instead of canceling them, we take the time to help educate them so they can learn from what they did or said. Lydia mentions that this isn't true in all cases, if someone does something very heinous that is obviously a different story. 2. In our culture currently, there is this idea that if you fail you should either quit and hide yourself from the shame or you should be able to bounce back immediately. Lydia shared that there may be some value and taking time away, truly reflect and learn from the failure before processing it and moving forward. In a world that is so fast-paced, I find this to be a refreshing perspective. 3. She also shared that you can go very far in the world working with people that perhaps enable you or encourage you to go about things in the wrong way. She encourages people to take the time to really reflect on those that they surround themselves with to ensure they have a great team of people that are guiding them, loving them, and supporting them. There are lots of other nuggets of wisdom throughout, but these were some of the main takeaways that I had!

  • Poor Lydia, she spends most of her time trying to substantiate her identity and it completely collapses her conversational skills. I think if she took the plunge and actually tried to be vulnerable, she'd be met with less contention than she thinks.

  • I had a pleasure of meeting Lydia and she is one funny, confident and elegant woman. She pursues life SHE aspires and that's why its so easy to follow her journey. I don't like to compare but for me personally she is arguably one of the best role models online for girls - wild in the teens, finding herself in her 20s and content and glowing in her 30s. The difference is - she did all of this online with thousands of people judging her every move. Just imagine if that was you. I know one of the arguments will be that she chose this but cudos to her that she did - look at where she is now! Fingers crossed for all your future successes Lydia. We are all here to cheer you on! ❤

  • I started watching Lydia Mullen because I like the way she dresses and, like me, her favorite color is green. If most us are to be honest, her channel a guilty pleasure meaning we want to see how the other half lives. But god forbid she has a plumbing problem and wants to check into The Savoy to forget about it. She shouldn’t have to apologize for working hard and rewarding herself. Was she supposed to check into a Motel 6? No man would ever have to say he’s sorry for being financially successful. She’s not the daughter of an earl and she didn’t grow up in a castle. Everything she has, she worked for. She should have gone a step further and showed us what checking into the Savoy is like - hell, I would have watched it.

  • Many are saying she is receiving many negative comments. Yes she is, she has made herself public and makes her money from the public! At the end of the day, she has made her money from her looks. She is not a business women with a line of successful businesses. She is an advertisement for brands. Both Ali and her have completely changed identities. Soon as she moved into her new home she started talking with an overly exaggerated posh voice! Compared to her old videos, she used to be “normal” and now she acts like a Royal! As if she is the daughter of a king born into Royalty!! As others have mentioned, she worked in Ibiza wearing very tacky outfits! How can someone raised as a “Royal Princess” with such high standards of etiquette be in such tacky clothing on nights out in Ibiza!! It’s her arrogance, the fake personality and patronising nature is what the public cannot understand. Lydia has regarded herself so high to the point you can see she is just living in her fantasy world. She will forever need to work to support her fantasy life because she isn’t as Royal as she has made out. I am not envious of her, I am very happy with my realistic life and in all honestly I actually feel sorry for her!!

    • She doesn’t need you to feel sorry for her 😂 at least she can cry in her fancy dress and house. there is nothing wrong to change and have a better life. That is the life she wants to have. she was working in Ibiza, so what? it was her past, she moved on so don’t dig other ppl past life to make you feel you are better than them.

    • I am happy with change and better life. For an example Molly Mae, Molly has achieved so much in similar ways and has a beautiful home and shares her lavish purchases. Molly stays connected and humble. You comment is very gas lighted, implying I can not have an opinion because if I have an opinion it’s because I am jealous 😂 so Lydia can do and behave how she wants but I can’t have an opinion on a public figure because she owns “lavish items and a home” I feel even more sorry for her if she is crying in her fancy dresses! I have many designer outfits and bags but I don’t change who I am as a person. BTW - I didn’t dig on the “Ibiza Past” it was mentioned in this interview! Maybe you was too in love of her beauty and designer clothing to even notice her speak! She worked in a lap dancing club in Ibiza! Not everyone does that!? Especially one with class and etiquette.

  • I can't imagine the pressure of being so public. Never being allowed a meltdown. Everyone has made poor choices and can reflect and go on to do great things. I get so much inspiration from Lydia and Ali. Her taste doesn't have to appeal to everyone. Most content creators have had their ups and downs, it's how they recover that matters. I see her as having a very kind heart, and being very approachable.

  • I don’t think I learnt anything new about Lydia in this interview, and that’s okay! She doesn’t owe it to me that I know every little thing about her, yet some of these comments are so clear that many don’t understand the concept of changing and evolving. You are allowed to change your mind, style or even opinions… Lydia has always been vocal about where she’s come from, her work in Ibiza and that she had very different preferences once upon a life time ago and everyone is acting as if she’s is putting up this facade that she is ‘old money’ because of the choices in which she makes to live her life. I’ve never heard Lydia refer to herself as ‘old money’ but I’ve heard a bucket load of jealous people in her comments say that’s how she’s ‘pretending’ to be… people are allowed to enjoy the style labelled as ‘old money’ without being scrutinised. Difference in opinion and style can be a beautiful thing? But so many people have it an ugly thing on social media. They say money screams, wealth whispers… same can be said for jealousy and envy. Yeah I am jealous that Lydia has such a beautiful home in the country, but I don’t dispose her for it. I aspire it. Jealousy isn’t bad but envy… so many envious people in her comments who can’t enjoy her happiness because they’re so busy being completely insecure about their own lives. And sorry to say, that’s not Lydia’s problem. It is yours.

I remember how she hashed Hadasa video and lots of occcurings over the years. This is a women that her heart and moth are so not even. YUK!
