After a few failures of the PIR light on the passage way , I'm replacing it with a 20Watt LAP PIR security light... let's see how long this one lasts

  • I solved the water issue: These are designed to be under the eves and sheltered from rain. So the last few I fitted to a tnorth gable wall (Scottish Highlands) lasted 18 months!! I have started making shelters for them to sit under using aluminium and plastic decking. No corrosion or rotting. My longest surviving sensor light is now over 3 years old and going strong! Well worth the effort!!!

  • I'm a DIYer myself, looking to do the same thing and watching youtube vids along with some books on electrical theory. Two things: 1) that white cable that goes into your junction box should be a H07RNF cable (a cable that's suitable for outdoor use), 2) that junction box should be IP44 and above (like an IP66 "wiska box")

  • I’m looking at fitting one of these to my boat so need a 3 pin plug in the other end. This one seems ideal as I keep seeing double insulated cable and I cba to get into the realms of that. Do you know what model this is ?, it seems ideal as I could run my own arctic 3 core flex longer than comes standard and then 3 pin plug on the end and job done. I keep seeing ones with ridiculously short cable and it’s annoying

    • They still seem to have a few in screwfix. www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/outdoor-lighting/cat8370001

  • Little tip I've had 3 of these for 2 and half years and first one died which i replaced with another plus these other two... It was filled with water. Tighten everything then smother the entry point with black silicone, no water or condensation in any of them and still working almost 3 years on... Basically the water proofing sucks.

  • Hi mate, did this come with the black flex which you installed into the junction box or did you get some spare?

  • The box says THREE YEAR GUARANTEE, so better luck with this one. No help to me, i'm trying to reset mine, but only has two controls on back, yours has three. But still no explanation, pillocks unite.

  • I fit them lights to they don't last because they're designed to fail doesn't matter what country makes them if they didn't break so often the manufacturer wouldn't make as much profit.there ment to be so much better for the environment and efficient at least when the old tipe stopped working you could change bulb now you have to replace everything how is that better for environment i would love to know how much of them light's get dumped around the world every year

    • Ironically I think this one has now failed too...so it lasted about 10 months, the old halogen ones went years
