  • I like the bracket, but when will a manufacturer sort out where the settings are, underneath and the same colour as the fitting, you set the PIR where you want it, then have to move it to look at the settings.

  • Thank you for the great video. Is it possible to get notifications when the sensor triggers? And if so, it is possible to set a schedule for notifications (eg between midnight and 5am)

  • Just had 3 of the newer 'smart' ones installed where you control with an app. Some nice features, I like that you turn it from a manual light, to a dawn to dusk light, to a remote sensor, to a 'nightglow' light stays on at 10% after dark until it detects motion and then goes full power. Sadly only available in 20w and cool white at the moment though. I have security cameras which make those ideal as you can dim the light too from 1% to 100% and thus balance the light to your cameras to light without blowing out the detail.

  • nice vid. but can u advise Exactly Where these can be purchased from? as I type this, they don't even appear to be listed on the manufacturer's own website. (the only model on their website which somewhat matches the one you've shown is the 'slimline guardian', but that has the older bracket design with no frosted glass etc). thanks

  • I was very happy with the Castra 10W floodlight until 10 months after I bought it the LED failed. I also noticed the instructions do not match the variable controls in that the left hand control is actually the right hand one, and vice versa.

    • The warranty on these floodlights is 12 months. I’ve bought two in the last 2.5 years and both have failed just after the warranty expired. Maximum hours of use for each was only 400 hours.Great idea for mounting which is why I bought them but they can’t be recommended with these failures.

  • Not a fan of floodlights in domestic , it's a half ar**d attempt at lighting .. but i do like that mounting bracket, is it plastic or alloy? its a nice design but still looks like a flood light :) are they dual voltage 110/240? only downside i can see is the stuffing gland coming out of the back instead of bottom entry i can see some capillary action happening over time

  • Nice and sleek but to connect the fixed cable to the cable you have brought to the light you’d need to use a junction box which ruins the look, I think they left this out on the list of points to advertise on purpose 😋

  • Looking good, but there is always something what I can not take. Wish to be possible to install it in 2way mode with another floodlight

    @VillainGang.@VillainGang.2 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah not really possible with many modern PIR Flood's. With ye olde Halogen & regular PIR's there was the L1 & L2 that was easier to wire in multiple PIR Flood's say 3 of them, which would activate all 3 if any PIR detected or use a switch to manually override & switch all 3 on for as long as you liked. Luceco Guardian PIR Floods originally used a driver/psu, then later changed to a COB design straight off 240v but the integral PIR used 4 thin wires in the PIR, out, gnd, vdd & 200v. Not really designed to be opened up & linked in, your best bet is to buy cheap floods, a couple of separate PIR's with L1/L2's, & link them up like ye olde halogen PIR Floods. Whilst wiring it all together, you can use a 400v capacitor with discharge resistor to lower the power slightly & extend the lifespan - see big clive doobying a cheap floodlight for more info. Which you can also use a capacitor on the Luceco Guardian's to drop the power slightly & increase the lifespan. But if you want multiple PIR Floods, then you're likely better of using cheap Floods, together with a couple of sep PIR's and wire in switch as required. For some reason my comments keep disappearing on this sponsored fan boy channel - but hey ho

Shame is screwless sockets on one side and on another just build in one moulded case what is not possible open properly. Thank you for suggestions with capacitor, will do some homework before I fitt them arround clients houses

      @VillainGang.@VillainGang.2 жыл бұрын
    • @@VillainGang. Luceco usually supply 1m wire, other cheaper lights 50cm or less, where you use say a 4 point weatherproof junction box, fit the capacitor in there, say 1uF (or 1000nF), 400v as AC fluctuates at up to 350v, use a 0.5w 1 mega ohm resistor across the cap, place cap (with discharge resistor to avoid getting zapped if you/others revisit wiring)... Place cap inline with live feed to Flood or even works on "most" PIR Floods - even the Luceco Guardian with bespoke wired PIR, drops power by say 50% (varies, sometimes it lowers more & on other bulbs/floods/COB's it lowers less) extending life. Use a cap for each LED light, if you try to use a capacitor for more than one LED light it really drastically dims multiple bulbs, so no, use one cap for each light & greater flexibility for lowering power/extending lifespan. Wire in say a separate PIR at each end, maybe one in middle, follow the L1/L2 wiring, add override switch if required. Then have say 3~5 slightly lower powered Floods, switched by 2 or 3 separate PIR's with an override switch by back door. Floods are slightly dimmed, so good for evening illumination if having a night time garden party, extends the lifespan, plus better even distribution of light from a few more floods than one or two ultra high beam floods on their own. Same capacitor principle can be used for GU10 LED bulbs and others, lowering say a 5w GU10 to just 4w drastically lowers the heat considerably - not that LED GU10's get anywhere near as hot as ye olde 50w halogens did, but you can notice the difference in your hand by just lowering LED's a tiny bit and greatly extend the lifespan NB - as long as you know what you are doing and ensure this capacitor mod is done to safe standard of course - best of luck
