This is my quick review of the 20 W LAP Slimline LED PIR Floodlight in black. I bought this from Screwfix for £22.99.

  • I have this 20w over my front door which is good enough and I bought the 30w for my back garden and it works a treat. Both very good for their locations.

  • Just received mine in the mail and seems to be built very well and is very bright but the power wire is not very long .. I’m probably gonna have to take the light apart and install a much longer and heavier gauge wire .

  • Why does it come on with no motion and then stay on? Same time every night. When it works properly, i.e. next doors cat, it goes off within 20 seconds as set.

  • I had one of these 20w Lap lamps without the PIR. It was only used rarely, maybe once a week and fir no more than a few minutes at a time and burned out in a little over a year. Tempted to buy a halogen as at least you can change the bulb.

  • What size flex did you use ? It says in instructions that 6mm is needed but the spec wouldn't suggest you do. I can't even find 6mm cable

    @tommysanimalplanet5432@tommysanimalplanet54324 жыл бұрын
    • The instructions state NOT LESS than 6mm. I have just wired up a length of 6mm and it was very straightfowrad - 8mm would work too.

  • It’s funny reading the comments about these not lasting. I got 4 solar powered pir led security lights off eBay for about £30 thinking they’d be crap & they’re still working 100% nearly 2 years on.

  • Can I ask a question to anyone please!!??..can the ends of these cables LAP/Lucceco and plug them into a regular wall socket? will the supplied cable allow me to do this? Rather than a junction box etc I just want to plug and play? Any help would be great!!!

    @billmustafa6427@billmustafa64273 жыл бұрын
    • Aye they will work fine on a 240v plug, thats how i tested mines before installing, although 9 months after install the COB's burnt out on it tonight, not pleased. LAP LED srewfix crap.

    • @@79RockShox yes thank you I thought they would ,another viewer said it couldn’t as the cable is not suitable for indoor sockets, I know I need to put a smaller 3amp/5amp fuse but thank you

  • Glad I watched this video , Wasnt impressed with the brightness of the light , Also didnt realise you couldnt replace the bulb once it goes . Not very environmentally friendly having to throw the whole unit away just because of a light bulb .....

  • I tried wiring this up with 2 core and nothing happened. I found some 3 core and wired it up and now it keeps tripping the mcb. Have I knackered it?

    @bigpete4227@bigpete42273 жыл бұрын
    • Doesn't the MCB protect against overload? 20W / 240V = 0.83A. How much load have you already got on the circuit?

  • Tip, never record lights in the wet, the light refracts through the surface of the water and only a fraction comes back to the observer, it doesn't record well at all.

  • Dear God, the comments here are bloody terrifying. Shit diyers and have a go electricians units here. You don't know what you don't know, so leave this stuff to the professionals. Even wiring something to a plug top can be dangerous. It's not a get out for getting a spark in. It's still 230v coming out of it at a current that can kill you or your family members 100x over.
