Reclaimed wood workbench. REALLY reclaimed.

I'm building a workbench from reclaimed wood - really reclaimed. Some horse shed poles, a log from my backyard, old chipboards and so on. I'm trying to keep the costs as low as possible, and I'm trying to do it all in 7 days outside my normal job.
I would like to send a special thank you to my guests:
Shane Conlan from DIYforKnuckleheads (send him some love at)
/ shaneconlan1
Tim Greenwood from TURGWORKS (send him some love at)

  • In the words of Crocodile Dundee..That's not a Bench...THIS, is a Bench!! Seriously mate...one word...Brilliant! You put so much effort into your videos and the editing is top notch! Appreciate you asking me to be a part of it and l apologise for the "D Grade" acting...l promise to improve 😂 Cheers 👍😁🇦🇺

Also your acting is exellent, I think it's my acting that needs improvement! Hey, perhaps I should rename it, you Dundee reference is so funny. And that's my main point with this video - if we can have a little fun and not take ourselves too seriously, all is good! Thank you again!

  • Met this guy who runs a small mobile sawmill business here in Germany, and he told me that all the big timber merchants have people who drive around looking for reclaimed wood: they offer to buy up old beams when a house is being demolished etc. The wood is then sold on as super desirable reclaimed timber at eye-watering prices. Great idea, I suppose - but it makes it harder and harder to find anything for the rest of us. Bulk trash pickup days are also a thing of the past: there used to be one or two days every year on which people could leave unwanted bulky items in front of their houses - lots of furniture, lots of solid wood, lots of treasures. Nowadays pickups are done by appointment. But you can still find stuff if you keep your feelers out: a while ago I was unexpectedly invited to a house that was being renovated, to pick through it and take anything I like - by a guy who knew that I’m always looking for usable bits of wood. Didn’t find that much, but ended up with 8 large drawers made from beechwood, which I can use for all kinds of projects. So, keep your eyes out - people throw out tons and tons of good stuff all the time.

  • I can't say with absolute certainty, but I may be your first female US subscriber 😲🤪 In messing around on pallet wood floor creations, I bumped into the coffee table, and the rest is history. Now, this work bench has me beyond excited for my 40x30 barn flipping shop. Yes, this girl is absolutely going after a workbench. Why? Because I can and power tools are my friends. The use of the old table (that I have many of,I have collected), and the cookie drawer fronts completely sold me. So, I am very inspired.

  • Great build! I recently cleaned off some old fence posts I was using to hold down tarps over yards and yards of topsoil. Methinks I will be building my own reclaimed work bench / outfeed / assembly table! Thanks for the inspiration!

  • I'm not even close enough to be called a novice woodworker, so grain of salt with my comments. When I watch stuff like this, I find it so inspiring. While you have some tools I doubt I will ever possess, I absolutely love the "just get it done" attitude you have. Also as a not-even-a-beginner, I find it so refreshing that you show your mistakes as well. Just found you today and I've already watched like 4 videos and subscribed. On another note, tag-teaming the other channels in is brilliant and really goes a long way for people like me to show the sense of community that's out there.

  • What can I say that hasn't been said already other than you should be making movies instead of woodworking videos your editing is spot on, your thought process is brilliant and your acting is Oscar worthy... Hey if Arnold Schwarzenegger can be a household name why can't jasper be next? I'm glad I found you the KZhead algorithm is way off on this one I watch woodworking videos almost daily for the past 6 months why am I just finding you? You have a great career ahead of you. I can't wait to see what you come up with next! I've watched all your videos so hurry up post more...lol. Couple of things that are truly setting head and shoulders above everyone your use of other makers and your addition of your family your are all naturals or you have way to much time in your hands...lol. P.S I want you to know that after watching hundreds if not not thousands of visitors you are the first person I have commented on. Keep up the fabulous job. Would love to see some if you out takes they must be great?
