We recently flew out to Arizona to drive the all-new flagship Kia EV9 GT-Line. The Kia EV9 is a brand new 3-row electric SUV based off the E-GMP platform (same platform as the Kia EV6, Hyundai IONIQ 5 & Genesis GV60). The GT-Line featured in this video make 379 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque from a dual motor setup. The EV9 is nearly identical in size to the Kia Telluride.

It’s a crime that this channel doesn’t have more views and subs. Top notch video as always!
I am a 26 year old man with no kids and still I think this is Kia's second coolest car they've ever made. This thing is baller!!! I want one lmao!
You guys are killing it! A breath of fresh air in the car review segment of KZhead!! Keep it up!!
Thanks so much!
Guys, top notch production. Really great quality overall vibe. Keep up the good work! The video grading is just superb.
Really appreciate that! Thanks so much!
Been subscribed for a while and I can see the improvements you guys have been making over time. Great work!
Thanks so much, means a lot to us!
Great review, yeah tell Tommy and Shopian how car reviews are made! You got a new fan of you channel
Great review! Entertaining and informative.
wonderful job. nicely done~
Quality stuff, great shots, music, style of reviewing. Way to go guys! Ev9 is tottaly worth considering.
@ACCELER8TV A big greeting from the French Riviera to your team. I loved this new video format and I think you should keep it for 2024, the video reflects the personal branding of the channel well and you differentiate yourself even more in quality compared to competing channels. I have seen others tests and clearly yours makes me want to buy this New KIA EV9 GT. Congratulations on your work and your professionalism based on your passion for automobiles. Looking forward to your next try.
pretty solid video. first time viewer. do you guys ever go over charging performance, range, road tripping abilities?
I keep going back to your videos to catch the start, the production is so impressive. Go on! I wonder why people won’t subscribe, get you paid so you can keep this up!
Lovely video! Truly enjoyed watching this one.😀
Lovely video! Truly enjoyed watching this one. Also, the edits and the shots are spectacular. Killing it!
Not just black but "PIANO" black. Wow that is so impressive.
Great review! I have a hybrid sportage and can't wait for them to come out with a EV equivalent.
Great vid!! Question: what is the "A" button in between the smart cruise + lane following assist buttons on the left side of steering wheel? Thanks
60mph in 4.5 seconds and that's for an SUV that weighs more that 5,000 pounds. Really impressive.
Meanwhile the model X plaid built in America, has done 0-60mph in 2.3s since late 2021 and also weighs about 5,500# also with a 100kwh pack&similar charging speeds with standard heat pump, octovalve, glass roof etc.
@@4literv6 yeah. but in tesla, if you done 2.3s acceleration 2 or 3 times in a row, it will decrease it's 0 to 60 performances due to heat from motor and high C rate from batteries while EV9 with E-gmp keeps it's performances steadly.
@@starfirenuclear not true for the plaid s&X. And the ct did 30+passes all within a tenth of each other on the camissa hagerty review. 👍🏻😎 He even got a 2.58s 0-60mph run in the 6,800# tri motor cyberbeast. Does hyundai or kia even have anything egmp platform wise that can do 0-60mph that quick yet? 🤔
@@4literv6 Even with plaid if you repeat zero to 60, it's time lap decrease. E-GMP is the most advanced platform on market with superior BMS.
@@4literv6 The reason why Telsa's platform inferior is because it's outdated. If you engineer EV with too much power, you must sacrifce strength of regen breaking. And Hyundai is the only maker that solved the problem by applying 2stage inverter. this is how ioniq 5N could be engineered 0.6G regen breaking with high horse power. Hyundai is the only maker that can build EV that can be use for racing competition. For example, next year Hyundai is opeing Ioniq 5N CUP. Tesla can't open it's racing CUP because if TEsla do that, their EV's BMS will block it's performance before batteries are used up during tracking due to overheating of motors and batteries. And more over, Tesla can't even increase it's regen breaking high as Hyundai.
Cinematography, editing, great video bro!
Thanks we appreciate it!!
Mindblowing production!
We appreciate that thanks!
The quality of this video is top notch. Thank you for making this enjoyable to watch. I wish I could afford this car.. =/
Best review so far of this car. So good even, that i am going to test drive it tomorrow. No cap. This car has it all. Presence and all the tech you can imagine. Just wow.
One of the things y'all do VERY well is coming up with fire intro music matched perfectly to the B-roll. Keep it up.
"Not Luxury?" You guys are killing it. Where in Arizona were you? We just visited the Saguaro National Park and looks a lot like it. Amazing weather in December.
great content guys, keep it up! Its still pretty expensive.. wish the 360 camera would have have with the Wind AWD because having EV6 with those features, its hard to go back without it and.. very similar or slighter better range on the EV6.. hard to spend that much for an extra row of seats.
I also have a ev6 gt line awd and the only issue I have with the ev6 is how low its stance is on the road. It seems everyone on the road is in a truck and I can't see around them. If the ev6 sat about 6 inches higher it would be perfect.
Fun fact: these are considered standard specs for Korean buyer but feels luxurious to western buyer
So what, big house in US are considered standard but luxury for many Asian country as well, different country has different situation. What’s your point here
@@peterkkk849 my point is western + European economy will collapse. As it’s built entirely on taxes collected from its people. I mean schools, universities and even health care aren’t free. Let’s take teens for example, by the age 18 they have depts just because they attending universities?! No wonders why there are so many homeless people in European countries.
@@HM11394yeah definitely haha. For sure there are no debt issues in South Korea also. Oh yeah SK and Japan definitely don’t have an alarming decline in population growth. Everyone has problems kid. Tell me you know nothing without telling me you know nothing

Am geting to love KIA.. My 2024 Seltos made me a believer
The green license plates aren't available in every province only Ontario my sister lives in Vancouver and her phev has regular plates but has a large sticker on the rear bumper allowing it to travel on highways with ev designated lanes
Welcome to Arizona. Wow my state is beautiful 🌵🏜️
SO nice!
Looks like Mike has had too much coffee once again 😂
Hahahaha Bro well done your funny AF Great demonstration!
That frunk better be a mini frig!
If I were buying an EV, it would be this but I'm sticking with the Telluride for now.
Is the EV9 manufactured in Ontario, been seeing a couple of YT Auto reviewers at the same event driving the EV9 with Ontario plates (or do they do this for the Canadian outlets only)?
Believe the first EV9s are being built in Korea but will then be built in West Point, Georgia, USA. This was a Canadian event so the cars had Ontario plates.
I really want to know what trims the “not” luxury items come in/with. The suede wrapped headliner and visors is a genesis upgraded non base trim item, also the 360 cameras and sensors… I’m glad it’s trickling down but what else can we expect to see in the genesis version of this ev suv ??
Subbed! But only because you told me to! And to think my wife says I’m a bad listener. Pfffft Great review , like your style
Thanks for the sub!
So you claim Kia is lying about not being luxurious but they are charging luxury pricing
50k is not luxury price
It's all about competition. All 3 rows EVs are in that price range.
A 3 series costs 50-60k USD. It's slower, has less space, rides worse and arguably is old af compared to this.
I really liked this video.
Test drove one yesterday, very cool car however the leather and inside of car feels very cheap. Is this a Kia thing?
No on the extra payment for the selection of front layout grill lights
Acceler8 Studios is going to be bigger than Universal or Paramount one day, I know it.
Whats up with the Ontario plate ?
Cars were trucked over for this review.
Really hope engineered not complicated to fix if in accident!? Insurance companies going to give you field day!
Wow❤❤❤❤❤❤ Tha k you. I love EV9
I want some chips now
We need a 170 inch long station wagon
YES.
I love the EV9. I’d buy one if it had an engine.
this one is luxury
Wish the range was better for the higher model.
GMC Hummer EV SUT 3 Motor 217” L 93” W 9,000 lbs 0-60 3 seconds This is fast but nobody is touching *gm’s* Ultium platform’s performance!
It’s a killer AWD station wagon.
What are you buying? The Kia EV9 or the Kia Telluride?
Xc90
Telluride prestige. X7 > EV9 same price
I’ve got a ev9 gt line on order. ETA is 3/4/24
EV!!!
@@spacefras enjoy less than 300 miles of range and mass depreciation!
I think the camera mic should have been muted. I hear too much car shaking sounds.
They showed the GT with the ADAS radar and LiDAR leading up to release but all I see is GT without it here in Canada. What gives?
Level 3 autonomous driving wont happen in Canada any time soon due to the current law saying the manufacturer takes liability from level 3 onwards in Ontario (or being uninsurable in BC etc and similar in many states in the US) so they cut lidar out in north America to lower price/cost. Lidar does not help that much for level 2
Ok good to know thank you
Just the lighting service subscription bull crap is enough to not consider this vehicle in the least
This is luxury
One small scratch at the bottom and you will have topay close to 100k to change the battery.
True. That's a big turn-off
I can tell you that the steering wheel isn’t luxury, my Elantra has the same one lmao 🤣
Lol yeah but you're like in the top trim 😂 so ofcourse its luxurious
They should charge for different lighting pattern. Why not, rich?
the car is luxury, but not the brand or dealership experience.
No review on HDA ? why not. !?
We mentioned it at the end. We’ve reviewed it a number of times. It works great.
Busiest exterior I have seen in quite a while. Futuristic, I suppose. Interior looks great.
Should be free on a 80k SUV…
Minivans nowadays are wayyyyy too expensive
Kia EV9
It is premium not luxury.
Who cares
@@d.supreme8592 me care
What are you eating 🤔
The only luxury about the EV9 is its 70k price tag for Kia 😂🙈🙈
It starts at $55k
@@victorquintana5870 The $55k is the strip down version with rear wheel drive unit only. In order for the EV9 to really sell well it needs to compete with the Tesla Model Y. The cheapest model is the RW drive for $42k and the AWD version is at $53k. I think KIA aim to high with the EV9 as a luxury pricing 3-row SUV and its the wrong strategy. There is a good reason why the Model Y is the top selling electric cars. Plus the model Y in the U.S qualify for the federal incentive of $7500 👍
You can't even afford this car
Check again is not 50k
Volkswagen play + and pause - 😉 pedals and Nissan flush dash buttons but KIA gets the praise 🤷🏽♂️ it’s a cool 3 row suv if you’re into the whole robocop futuristic cartoon styling but it’s gonna age quickly imo
If I get 200K subs I'm buying this spaceship
How much did Kia pay you for this review
I beg you to never include the chewing of food in your videos ever again. Hearing you chomp on those chips was a little excruciating. Love your stuff otherwise. Just think of folks with misophonia next time. 🙂
Hahahaha that part was one of the funniest
No leather there are many non luxury factors broh common how much did you get paid? 😂😂😂
70K for under 300 miles of range? Yikes to whoever is dumb enough to buy this. The depreciation will be insane as EVs gain more range. Hard pass on this
no. future's EV range will not be drastically increased from now. Because in order to increase future EV's range drastically, new concept of battery must be invented. And anyone who invent such battery will get Nobel prize. And will take decades to apply on industry. Only way to increase Ev's range is to put more battery cells in car with applying low power motor.
@@starfirenuclear Tesla and Lucid are laughing at you. Another child!
@@Feedmezz no man. your statement is violating conservation of Energy. In order for Ev's range to be increase drastically, energy density of battery cell must be increased like 2 times. Even if it's increased 1.5 times, whoever make that battery cell gets Nobel Prize. So with current batteries available now and couple years from now, only way that car manufacturer can increase their EV range is to put more cells in car. Or decrease horse power of EV.
@@starfirenuclear nope you’re wrong and stupid check out lucid and Tesla range
Good looking suv and fast. But 75k plus another 25k to replace the battery in 6 years =100k. That’s a loaded Cadillac Escalade or loaded Yukon Denali or a semi loaded base Cayenne S which I would rather have

Nice presentation as always. EV car is fun until it is time to replace the battery.
Your Over Acting 👀
Everything cheap is from China and Korea.
The number one thing that luxury vehicle needs to have is an extremely quiet cabin. And almost no reviewer ever talks about this topic most Evs are loud as hell.
Electric vehicles seem noisier than their ICE equivalent because they do not have an engine to mask some road noise and rattles. Reviewers should always provide a dB noise measurement for 80, 100 and 120 km/h to compare between new models. Models on the EGMP platform are usually quiet, but Kia seems to have raised the bar with the EV9.
@@CarlAllard99 That's backwards and incorrect. For the majority of noise comes from the engine. Making EV inherently quieter. Ever idol in an EV? The rest of the noise is created by wind, road and tires, which all vehicles contend with equally.
Purely subjective. Get a meter.
Way too small for three rows. It looks like a stretched out Kia soul. There’s nothing exciting about this vehicle. It’s just more of the same . I’m not saying it’s bad at all. It’s a hard pass for me.
