Nice video keep up the good work
Honestly, I am surprised that you guys arent at 1 million subscribers yet. Your videos are the best I've seen for reviews. Keep putting the work, it's a matter of time.
Yeah like in the year 3,000
We really appreciate that!
Ya totally Agree! Very underrated channel!
The best is usually the least appreciated.
Keep it and wait until it reaches over 100,000 miles, then do another review. It’s a great car. I remember when you reviewed the Model Y, and I bought it because of you. It's been 2 years, and I still smile every time I drive it. I love it.
You love losing money like that?
Your partner in crime doesn’t get enough credit. That Tesla intro was pure cinema
Haha thank you. I am trying to make an effort to be in front of the camera more. - Ian (partner in crime).
EVERYTIME I revisit this channel and watch a new video, I am amazed. Y'all are THE BEST car channel on KZhead. Period.
Thank you!!
Camera man has top-tier skills
Thanks so much! - Ian (Camera man)
Damn, that’s a lot of depreciation. I say hold it and make another video in 3 years. If you do plan on selling - maybe get an LC500? Lexus is discontinuing the 2URGSE soon and LC is a beautiful looking car while not being too expensive.
😊😊 exactly I think hold it as long as you can until you make 10 more videos to make your money worth it lol subscribed
As a Tesla owner I don’t look at my cars as cars but as cellphones. I upgrade every 2-3 years and expect the cost of the device to go down with time not miles which in the smart phone world it’s common.
Tesla model S 0-60 in under 2 seconds….$181k - $90k in under 2 years! Thanks Elon 😂
No one complained when computer prices fell for decades. Anyway, as Tesla can now build cars much more efficiently and there's more competition; this is natural; and healthy, for most people. It's actually how the standard of life is raised in society.
@@SuperBilge exactly. This guy just likes pessimism in his life.
That's the 1st adopters life haha. It's always like that, with everything in life as a first adopter ;) Glad that we have had sharp price cuts for the masses though.
So you take the car on a rally weekend and it dies the next day, then costs $11 grand to fix? Are you serious? AND the brakes suck? And people try to call this an "advancement" or "hi-tek"? I hope this video gets enough views to at least cut in to the depreciation. We appreciate your sacrifice for the public good. Your channel is great.
New subscriber, just got a new Model S and I lust for the wheels you have. And came here to click your link for the floor mats. Good content!
Congrats on 250k fellas! I remember the first video I watched that made me sub… was the review of the RS7
Wow! One of our first videos, thanks so much for sticking with us!!
Awesome, honest review!! Loved the cinematic aspect and soundtrack of this video - chef’s kiss!!!
Thanks so much!
I think anyone that bought the Tesla at the height of the price, should keep it till it dies. Also I would tint the windows and windshield so it flows all black all the way through
I have Tuxmat in my suv. Absolutely love them! Best mats I have ever purchased
Awww Yeahhh!
The plaid is cool but I’m more interested in that S1k 👀 Congrats on 250k! 💪🏾
Great video as usual :) ,,,,I saw a plaid wrapped in chrome it looked amazing, or how about a plaid wrap,,,they will know its a plaid then lol ?
Love Tuxmats! Great video boys. Ian truly is a world class creator!
Got 1 and also took a $44k US price reduction. I paid $142k new now its $98k like mine new. However I did the track package (not wheels just CCB) pair with square 20” forged wheels and it transformed the car. It’s not just bigger brakes and top speed. In track mode they recalibrated the damping ratios to make it track focus. Now the top speed can be reached in any mode not just on track mode Also for CCB’s like this, the price is good. However I use the car more to race it. For the rest, cero issues love the car hate the resale so probably will keep it …..
this is the best channel in the entire world! the editing, and the videography is amazing
Your model sp is sick dood keep it ,😊your mods are sweet !
Nice VIDEO! I have the 2023 Ultra-Red Plaid after someone hitting my MS16 75D! Anyway, I think you should get premium powder coat AMBER calipers to match the amber light in front. It would very rare in Plaid!
When they say it’s goes fast, they weren’t just talking about speed
congrats on the 250k!
Dude, try Full Self Driving. You'll never gonna sell this thing once you do ... It's mind-boggling!
One of your best videos; factual and personal at the same time. But don't go blowing through any more stop signs (16:35). You're a Canadian and we respect traffic signs.
Eeeeee didn’t even notice
Free country baby 🤘🏼
100% front wheel drive... I want to see this lol..... 😂........ you made that plaid look really nice with those wheels.
The car that broke down and cannot run isn't worth 90K. In fact, it costs just the value of scrap metal.
Scrap prices at an all time high
@@ACCELER8TV🤣🤣🤣
$90k depreciation is hard to imagine! I feel for you bru. Dont sell it, you wont get another car with 1000hp at that price. Wait 3 more years for the roadster.
My man said who would pay 20k for better performance and brakes 😂 on a Porsche there’s 20k damn near on color and stitching options alone and don’t even get me started on the bmw cs upgrade which is a 30k bump for more hp
Goes to show, Tesla is either just hiring anyone. Or hiring yes men because with proper R&D, even if you found cheaper materials. A 50k decrease is massive and they basically used you as a loan to improve the model S. Like they say, money doesn't grow on trees and has to come from someone's bank account.
They have always stated that once production increases the price will eventually come down. If someone bought it now after the production has caught up with demand it’s a great buy. Tesla isn’t Porsche that means you don’t have to beg a dealer to buy an exorbitantly marked up car. There aren’t any cars that puts out the same performance in any where near its price point. If I had the money it would be my daily. It’s easy to maintain, extremely quick. You can see the same depreciation hits for cyber truck as well, eventually it will hit the 40k mark for it as well for the single motor. Tesla mass produces cars that are extremely bang for the buck.
Correct! The cost of being an early adapter of any tech is massive depreciation. How is it going for those first smartphone buyers? Most cars depreciate regardless of manufacturer..
Great team work beautiful videos as always ⚡️
I would drive it forever 1020hp on tap, comfort of air suspension, Over the air updates to always keep the car relevant, and Maintenance free motoring. My dads plaid is at 87k miles and he literally hasn't had to do a single thing besides tires.
Wow
If you wanted a fast, value retainer family car, it should've been a Porche Cayenne Turbo S.
what? since when does a cayenne "value retainer?" lmao
@@kcw9313 german cars (well, porsches at least) are known for retaining their value very well, because the build quality is top-notch. Even though they're relatively "mass-produced", they still go strong 100,000, 200,000, or more miles later and hold up very well. Hence why they're very desirable in the second-hand market. But here in the US we don't have autobahns, so there's really no point in buying a 150 mph daily driver when the max speed you can realistically drive is 80. lol
@TSERJI my man. Only Porsche sport cars hold their value.
@@hamsterbrigade ah, my bad. It seems the 911's & 718's only hold value. But still, the build quality on all Porsches (not just the sports cars) are pretty top-notch
KEEP UP THE CONTENT! truly GREAT!
What do u think about the new seats ? Will u updgrade ?
Needs 7 inch ground clearance cuz roads
I do want to mention, that Tesla strongly discourages you from bringing your car into a car wash, you must go through a touch-less car wash. Probably for this reason. Although the car should still hold up just fine. Ignoring Tesla’s warnings, the consequences are on you due to negligence. I do want to mention that I have owned my 21 Tesla Model 3 since December of 2020. I have 140k miles and still retained the original drivetrain and battery. Had a plethora of HVAC related issues due to being the early adopter of the heat pump. Haven’t had any issues since.
Shoulda waited to buy it like I did. Saved a bundle and that’s why I’m not taking my cyber truck yet. I’ll happily wait when the prices drop and then I’ll jump on it.
Dam I'm glad I bought my plaid 2022 but with all the refresh updates of the 2023 plaid for 80k and only with 11k miles
whats the name of the rims?? fire
Used 2021 plaids are priced in the $60kish in the US
You bought at initial hype and now complaining that supply vs demand has caught up.
It’s a great car but that depreciation is actually insane.
great video man! id say keep it, teslas are the only cars i know that get better and better as they age, also tint your windows! more blacked out haha
I doubt it’s going to hang with a turbo s other than in a straight line, also those front disks look so small I think that’s the problem
"one is hollow & one is not" feel u there
Just get the track pack brakes already or quit complaining. it also includes a better handling software package. they're awesome and a fair price at $15K installed. as for depreciation, go talk to the taycan owners. wheels are low quality, cheap heavy. rear fitment is off. tires are inferior to ps4s. your rear camber is probably insanely out of spec since you lowered it. did you even get an alignment with a read out? your factory air suspension is experiencing accelerated wear for operating outside of its designed height range. but hey do you.
You are doing too much. No one cares about your opinion
Not a fan of EVs by any means but this video caught my attention
Man I raced one of these, in my Kia forte GT and I was very disappointed I lost 😂
Only thing I would do is tint the windows after that the car is fine 💯
you can put carbon kit from TSK
EVs are fast, insanely fast, I get it, the EV nerds keep talking about it when it comes in comparition with the supercars. But it wasn’t just all about the speed, it’s also the sound, the clutch thumps, the shifting punches… it’s…the experience.. I think every man will get what I’m talking about
This man speaks the truth.
U must like how it feels riding a horse still, when first car was introduced
@@ritenaow1 probably, I won’t deny that, things in the past are things that make us who we are, I still remember the feeling of driving my very first car like 15yrs ago, it’s a MT one, when AT was only available on expensive cars
As daily drivers when you have to move your family around, there is nothing better than a fast EV. My model 3 performance is a beast from point a to point b and nobody notices I’m using 100% power when zipping around the city. my previous tuned audio S4 was so loud I actually was ashamed to use full power. The trick is to own a small nimble manual weekend car to have real fun, which I do
@@louisolivierfortinSo true. I have a '22 M3P and love it. The Plaid is insanely quick but even the M3P is quicker from stoplight to stoplight than 99% of the ICE cars you're going to see on the road. But I do occasionally want a MT gasser just to enjoy the drive.
keep it til the battery dies, nothing can compare far as 4 door sedan, fast, and no gas.
Probably need to change the brake pads as well and different rotors
Mate, what matters is if the car makes you happy. It can be the biggest POS, but in the end of the day if you are (mostly) happy ..that's it. I would not buy EV , especially Tesla , but when the tech significantly improves why not.
When you said 2005 Subaru Legacy, I said SUBY #FTW!! Still have my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT (76,000 miles; needs timing belt replaced), and it’s a sweet ride. Always garaged .. until the 2024 Model Y Performance took the garage spot so … gettin’ dirty! LOVE my Tesla Model Y Performance and could possibly see a Model S in my future … maybe. Your Model S Plaid is SWEET!!!
If you could sell it and get a brand new one to replace it for a little more money it could be worth it to sell given you put it through a lot early on. If you have all the initial enjoyment of abusing it out of your system you could go easier on the next one if you want to have it for the long term. It is a moderately timeless design and over the air updates well help keep it fresh. You could move any mods to the next one. Or… keep this one to show longevity/durability, it won’t be worthless when the battery goes in years, it could be cheaper to replace the battery in the future and there could be a new style, lighter with better technology down the road. At that point if you’re out of warranty you could have the battery serviced third party for way less or just get a new battery.you spent 180 what’s 25-30k in 3-5 years. That’s almost the brake package. Mods to consider Vented/ slotted rotors Better pads Lighter rims/ staggered Front lip/splitter Rear defuser Trunk lip spoiler Definitly no roof box. sound system upgrade maybe alpine all the way around Interior accent lighting Sun roof panel shade/ ceramic tint all the way around doesn’t have to be dark to keep the heat out, car uses less energy cabin overheat protection will run less as well in the summer.
Bro the 2021 Plaids are going anywhere from $62-68k on average on Autotrader for a clean title with 20l - 45k miles
Sorry our numbers were CAD
great review, thanks!
More of these!
Ian's Mazda 3 Turbo Long Term review coming soon too
I have a 2022 Plaid, so much depreciation, probably will keep it as a daily drive
Overpriced
Do you have a ioniq 5 N review
We don’t get it until June, lower sub channels like us don’t get stuff as quick haha.
I’ve got the same plaid and s1000rr sick bro
Hahaha amazing
S or plaid for a daily ?
Well everybody and their mother knows that mass-produced cars go down in value. When you buy a car, you should expect to lose money. You buy a car because it makes you happy, helps your business make money, brings your business credibility and/or for status.
Buy EVs used.. you have to be insane to pay msrp
Go with unplugged performance Apex mod
New Model S Plaid customers will be very Happy Now 😍 the price
80k?...sell it now😂.....replacement? ..well from your past reviews ..you fell in love with the F-pace SVR..so yeahhh or get a c8 rs6 Avant
Sell it before Tesla goes belly up. Meanwhile, these videos are top notch!
Put the track pack on that thang
There is a lot to unpack in this video.
A timeless spaceship. Just keep it, very good daily driver.
Awesome review.
When you get rid of it, I recommend an ICE vehicle 😏
New Model S Plaid soon and prices to compete with Chinese EV and Tesla need to upgrade it’s Built Quality and Range
Sell the Model S while you can and get the Cadillac CT5-V blackwing instead
Great video as always. Things not mentioned are interior design which Tesla doesn't have. Road noise, which I don't want to hear at that price, and harsh ride. Your camera was vibrating (I forgot the scene) because the car is not absorbing the road imperfections well enough. I do consider it because it is a great value for money, but unwilling to sacrifice luxuriousness.
Once you are ready to sell it, let me know.
lol teslas in the states going for 67k plaid. Might get one.
Trade it for the new ioniq 5N. They go for 90k after taxs. 100% it will put a 🙂 on your face. And its more practical.
Sorry to hear about your divorce. Is the divorce the same as here in the US compared to Canada?
Financially I guess it depends on the state, but yes it’s the same 50/50 split What’s more important is the relationship between each other when you break the knot.
Tesla is the best car company ever! No maintenance, no gas stations, no smog checks, no oil changes, #1 in reliability, #1 in cost of ownership, quiet and 0-60 in 2.9 seconds like a $700,000 Lamborghini.
Tell me that you are joking😅. Best in what? 0-60? 1/4 mile? Not even that anymore. Most EV's these days do exactly what they do just with a better quality. Yes number 1 in recalls 🤭. He just said they changed the front electric motor for 11k $$ . a car with 17k miles 😅😅😅😅
You should sell it - asap !!!! Get an AMG GT63 s -- will not loose money
This is 10x faster than the gt63..
@@Glock7eventeen straight line speed isn't everything..
@@maisondav1d The Model S Plaid is just as fast around a track as a brand new 992 911 Turbo S. it even beat the 992 GT3 RS and GT2 RS on the Laguna Sega raceway (although that model had its rear seats removed and interior panels stripped out to save weight.) This isn’t 2016 anymore, these EV’s are faster around a track too..
I've been daily driving a Model S for almost 4 years and I cant imagine going to any other vehicle... Even the 3 or Y, I feel like would be such a downgrade. The power, safety, UI, and fuel/maintenance savings... They're all unmatched.
i like the rim,s what kind are they? did you lower the car also?
Keep till worthless. It’s an amazing car.
This is the opposite of a 911..... a 2020 was 148k new with options plus tax when I specked out the new gen 4S...... now a 2020 used is that much....... but new are getting over 200k so thats why, new prices are heading up a LOT, so driving up used prices.. Lease one, and get a cheque back from Porsche for 50k when you turn it in 3 years later?? Probably...
Believe it or not, the 911 was the fastest depreciating car model last month in Canada, not sure about the U.S.
@@Glock7eventeen not according to autotrader... Ive been watching as I want to buy one.. its crazy !! You are better off to buy a 2022 for 190k than a 2020 with higher mileage for 160k..
That new car smell comes from off gassing of plastic parts. The reason why the Tesla still smells like it is because of the cheaper plastics they use I'm sure.
Go for Lucid Air😊
Get rid of this car put a bit of money and get a Taycan. Or just sell it and get a BMW i4 m50. There are a lot of EVs now with a better handling and driving dynamics.. There's no reason to die on the Tesla hill anymore... Get your money out. Put it into a fun German EV, or wait for the next generation M5.
Sell it for the new model 3 performance?
Dropped the price $56k...just goes to show how grossly overpriced Teslas have been without any real competition.
Love you ❤
hey from Ontarion, great video as always, I got a 2024 Plaid myself and the performance brakes (red caliper ones) are way better than my 2022 plaid, you should consider it! its 3k CAD upgrade from official tesla, if you dont want the track package.
Cool, thanks I’ll check it out
Sinking faster than tesla stock Sinking Fsster than elon personality
Another fast way to lose money is day trade like me 😂
So ill be interacting from now on for the boost since i think you guys are underrated. Anyways, i dont know about you guys but buying cars in 2024 is kinda lame, im 25, and i want to make a questionable daily car purchase but most cars are no longer fun or actually affordable lol.
What's your price point? New or used market? I'm a bit older than you, I bought a new VW at 25. Not glamourous, sure, but it's been good to me. You could probably get a Jetta GLI for a decent price.
Remember the first 42" inch Panasonic plasma TVs costing $4000? Now you can buy a 95" inch TCL 4K smart TV for under $2000 at Best buy.
Wooosh 11k on a motor? Tesla can miss me with that BS I’m good pls thank you .
