  • So you take the car on a rally weekend and it dies the next day, then costs $11 grand to fix? Are you serious? AND the brakes suck? And people try to call this an "advancement" or "hi-tek"? I hope this video gets enough views to at least cut in to the depreciation. We appreciate your sacrifice for the public good. Your channel is great.

  • Got 1 and also took a $44k US price reduction. I paid $142k new now its $98k like mine new. However I did the track package (not wheels just CCB) pair with square 20” forged wheels and it transformed the car. It’s not just bigger brakes and top speed. In track mode they recalibrated the damping ratios to make it track focus. Now the top speed can be reached in any mode not just on track mode Also for CCB’s like this, the price is good. However I use the car more to race it. For the rest, cero issues love the car hate the resale so probably will keep it …..

  • Goes to show, Tesla is either just hiring anyone. Or hiring yes men because with proper R&D, even if you found cheaper materials. A 50k decrease is massive and they basically used you as a loan to improve the model S. Like they say, money doesn't grow on trees and has to come from someone's bank account.

    @marcos223ful@marcos223ful16 күн бұрын
    • They have always stated that once production increases the price will eventually come down. If someone bought it now after the production has caught up with demand it’s a great buy. Tesla isn’t Porsche that means you don’t have to beg a dealer to buy an exorbitantly marked up car. There aren’t any cars that puts out the same performance in any where near its price point. If I had the money it would be my daily. It’s easy to maintain, extremely quick. You can see the same depreciation hits for cyber truck as well, eventually it will hit the 40k mark for it as well for the single motor. Tesla mass produces cars that are extremely bang for the buck.

      @sa34w@sa34w16 күн бұрын

    • @@kcw9313 german cars (well, porsches at least) are known for retaining their value very well, because the build quality is top-notch. Even though they're relatively "mass-produced", they still go strong 100,000, 200,000, or more miles later and hold up very well. Hence why they're very desirable in the second-hand market. But here in the US we don't have autobahns, so there's really no point in buying a 150 mph daily driver when the max speed you can realistically drive is 80. lol

  • I do want to mention, that Tesla strongly discourages you from bringing your car into a car wash, you must go through a touch-less car wash. Probably for this reason. Although the car should still hold up just fine. Ignoring Tesla’s warnings, the consequences are on you due to negligence. I do want to mention that I have owned my 21 Tesla Model 3 since December of 2020. I have 140k miles and still retained the original drivetrain and battery. Had a plethora of HVAC related issues due to being the early adopter of the heat pump. Haven’t had any issues since.

  • Just get the track pack brakes already or quit complaining. it also includes a better handling software package. they're awesome and a fair price at $15K installed. as for depreciation, go talk to the taycan owners. wheels are low quality, cheap heavy. rear fitment is off. tires are inferior to ps4s. your rear camber is probably insanely out of spec since you lowered it. did you even get an alignment with a read out? your factory air suspension is experiencing accelerated wear for operating outside of its designed height range. but hey do you.

  • If you could sell it and get a brand new one to replace it for a little more money it could be worth it to sell given you put it through a lot early on. If you have all the initial enjoyment of abusing it out of your system you could go easier on the next one if you want to have it for the long term. It is a moderately timeless design and over the air updates well help keep it fresh. You could move any mods to the next one. Or… keep this one to show longevity/durability, it won’t be worthless when the battery goes in years, it could be cheaper to replace the battery in the future and there could be a new style, lighter with better technology down the road. At that point if you’re out of warranty you could have the battery serviced third party for way less or just get a new battery.you spent 180 what’s 25-30k in 3-5 years. That’s almost the brake package. Mods to consider Vented/ slotted rotors Better pads Lighter rims/ staggered Front lip/splitter Rear defuser Trunk lip spoiler Definitly no roof box. sound system upgrade maybe alpine all the way around Interior accent lighting Sun roof panel shade/ ceramic tint all the way around doesn’t have to be dark to keep the heat out, car uses less energy cabin overheat protection will run less as well in the summer.

    • @@maisondav1d The Model S Plaid is just as fast around a track as a brand new 992 911 Turbo S. it even beat the 992 GT3 RS and GT2 RS on the Laguna Sega raceway (although that model had its rear seats removed and interior panels stripped out to save weight.) This isn’t 2016 anymore, these EV’s are faster around a track too..

  • I've been daily driving a Model S for almost 4 years and I cant imagine going to any other vehicle... Even the 3 or Y, I feel like would be such a downgrade. The power, safety, UI, and fuel/maintenance savings... They're all unmatched.

  • This is the opposite of a 911..... a 2020 was 148k new with options plus tax when I specked out the new gen 4S...... now a 2020 used is that much....... but new are getting over 200k so thats why, new prices are heading up a LOT, so driving up used prices.. Lease one, and get a cheque back from Porsche for 50k when you turn it in 3 years later?? Probably...

  • That new car smell comes from off gassing of plastic parts. The reason why the Tesla still smells like it is because of the cheaper plastics they use I'm sure.

  • Get rid of this car put a bit of money and get a Taycan. Or just sell it and get a BMW i4 m50. There are a lot of EVs now with a better handling and driving dynamics.. There's no reason to die on the Tesla hill anymore... Get your money out. Put it into a fun German EV, or wait for the next generation M5.

    • What's your price point? New or used market? I'm a bit older than you, I bought a new VW at 25. Not glamourous, sure, but it's been good to me. You could probably get a Jetta GLI for a decent price.
