First Rides On The NEW Gen 5 and DEEP Snow!
We made it to Idaho for the winter, which means that it's time to get OUR new sleds out for a rip! Our first ride of the season is always highly anticipated, but this year with these new sleds and having the opportunity to get out with Dan Adams and Jared Sessions is the best kick off to a season we could ask for. Watch as we talk about some of the avalanche conditions we are experiencing with all of this early season snow and ride our Gen 5 Turbos for the very first time!

Most underrated snowmobilers keep up the good work fellas
Love seeing you guys ride everywhere I ride.
Theeee boys are back with dan adams, amazing!
I meet him last year for my first time mountain riding what a great man he is and the view is incredible
Awesome video! Thank you!
Excited to hear from you guys and sorry about the bummer with your track. Looks like you may need a carbon fiber bumper sooner than we though! Glad you were able to get back on the snow so quick. Pays to know good people in the sled community. Can’t wait to get up to Afton/Alpine as well as looks like Driggs for the second ride. That area has been and always does get more snow than anywhere around. Keep up the good work!!
@@3DProductions I know exactly what the underlying issues are and what caused this. Still doesn’t mean it’s not a bummer for that to happen on the first ride.…… BRUH. 😂
Dude! I was there on that ride! That was a crazy day
Down to the earth
Looks Amazing. Well done gents!
Thanks Brett!
Never seen a track change go so fast. Thats pretty huge for boon docking sledders who eventually find the sharp stumps and track cutting rocks.
Good stuff boys love it forst time watching and wow that was great good filming and editing everything was flawless great job keep up the good work if y’all come down to Canada let me know we should ride together
Thanks Jaydee glad you enjoyed it
So sick I know right where you guys are lol.... Thanks for all the great content I really enjoy it. Got to take a class from Dan one day!
Thanks Craig! You can tell we didn't make it far lol We are going to be linking up with Dan again later this month and shooting an avalanche safety crash course video!
What snow mobile is that? I am just moving out to park city and trying to figure out what would be the best unit for a little bit of everything. Have been looking at the backcountry XRS crossover 50/50
I like how you mentioned whistlin diesel cause hes my favourite youtuber hahahaha
Awesome video b'ys!!! Like to see more! Cheers 🍻🍻
Every Thursday! Thanks for watching
What kinda cameras are you guys running just curious film looks great!
I would love to ride with you guys. If you ever come to Fairfield let me know.
You think the axle is the weakpoint now with more hp or just they way you came down on it not much would survive it?
Tough lesson on wrench ing
Leatherman skelotool saves the day .
Did you find a track?
You guys are riding my zone haha. My buddies ran into you and unfortunately I wasn't able to go. Thank you for not giving the location away✌️
We'll see you out there next time!
Great video and content, can’t stand the aftermarket pipes though!
what was that on his knee knee brace?
Sick shots from day 2! What kind of drone do you guys use?
Thanks Frank! It's a DJI Mavic 3
I’ve never seen a sleds rear axle blow out let alone the rails tearing through the track. That’s nuts. Looks like the 850 turbo r is pushing the limits of the skid right out of the box.
An idler fell out probably not tightened
Correct, we forgot to tighten it. That's why you don't work on sleds after midnight.
Or in a commutative group atmosphere perhaps
Do you ever come out to Northern NY to ride? That is if we ever get snow.
We really want to make it out East sometime. Just a challenge logistically. One of these years!!
Great vid! NewSub!
Awesome China Parts at there best ! In the Recycle ♻ bin
Their
Those stock rear bumpers don’t really hold up very long. Usually on the first ride they break off
Yup… installing BackwoodsBMP tonight or tomorrow
I still don’t understand how you guys don’t have a half 1 million subscribers quality videos
Thanks, means a lot!! #boondocktothemoon
Was something not put together right or loose on the rear axle? Did you hit something?
Forgot to tighten the axle bolt after putting stock wheels back in
@@Boondock_Nation ya wont do that twice !!!! bummer about the track but glad you got it switched out so quickly good old networking! too bad we didn't get to see dyno numbers again....hope day 3 is even more EPIC!
what caused the failure of the rear axle? And did BRP do anything for you?
Loose idler wheel
I bought a used 18 assualt and my first real sled this july and i got ten minutes in yesterday and the track tore out, i live up in the ak and i cant get a new one from polaris for 2 weeks. big sad haha
Dang it! Things never seem to go as planned eh?
Have any new Polaris sleds on order?
Yes! 9R Khaos 146 coming in whenever they get their act together
Did the axle bolt fall out? Did the shaft snap? Looked like the axle and wheels were still togather
Left the bolts loose?
Yeah the bolt came out. and that is why you don't work on sleds after midnight
,,,,,,........... Land o' Lakes,wi...usa,,,,,,,,here...,,,,,,,, send it ....................all the way to Bents Camp !.....🎄🎄
Just curious how did that happen to your track? Sled is brand new right? Just curious because I have the same sled
Freak accident. Proof that no brand is exempt from failure.
We believe that we forgot to tighten the rear axle bolt. It was literally on the first hill I tried to climb. First time cracking the throttle wide open smh
and that's why you don't work on sleds after midnight
@@Boondock_Nation Shit happens when you party naked boys! 😅
Jaaaysum, Doo leaving a trail of parts all over Wyoming. Dan couldn't hook you guys up with couple proper sleds?
No, no polaris rentals until the stop ride is released
What was the cause of the axel blowing out?
Forgot to tighten it
Have the check engine lights started coming on intermittently your sleds? My G5 expert is flashing check engine under revs. Told they need a firmware update… lame
We are seeing a Rave Valve Deviation code occasionally but thats about ti
So what caused the track issue? I picked up a used 21 assault 850. I haven't rode in 20 years but the more I hear about all these problems with newer sleds it kind of scares me. Back in the day snowmobile were reliable. These days it seems like they are high performance shit boxes that cost 25g's
User error most likely. Notice the Ice Age rails on the sled?
I put 10 inch wheels in but wasn't satisfied with the way they fit so I swapped back to stock and must've forgotten to tighten the axle bolt. And that is why you don't work on sleds after midnight
@@Boondock_Nation oh ok. I usually blame the beer
4:56 for action
I’m in victor ID! I need to ride a gen 5 so bad!
Who did that canvas photo you gave to Jared?
Walgreens! Lol. They turn them around quick and are cheap. Jack shot the picture and added the text
Good thing the new design allows for quick track changes!
True that! We had the track changed in about an hour!
i broke my rear bumper same way on my ''22 freeride. what a terrible bumper haha
I'd get my money back on that exhaust.
Those new sleds seem to be really durable, haha. Pay 20 grand for a sled only to have massive a failure and other parts falling off the sled on the first day.
They installed the Ice Age rails themselves. Hard to blame the failure on Ski-Doo don't you think?
My bad, I didn’t even notice it was aftermarket. I agree with you on that one.
@@Smoot307they admitted they didn’t tighten it
Am I watching DDE or BDN…?¿?
was the Gen5 even worth it?? 😅😂
$20,000 plus, and that just happens, lol.
I have a 3 inch 154 track available here in Salt Lake City. Only has about 200 miles at the most on it
I think you are too late
Did the bumper break from wheelies?
Yes, installing BackwoodsBMP tonight
Flufftastic...
I don't know much about sleds but if both of those brand new sleds broke that doesn't say much about skidoo.
they installed aftermarket rails and cause the failure by not tightening bolts
mountain snow is the best , trail riding gets really upsetting with the drunks on the trails and all
not the best advertisement for ski doo.....both sleds injured in the first 13 miles
looks like operator error on the busted track.
At least skidoo gets them their sleds
Hahaha just wait.. it gets worse
@@Boondock_Nation no way....really??
These ones are tuned though
Not a good look for doo lol.
seems ridiculous that the track failed in 3 miles. Not a good look for the manufacturer unless you did it by hitting something.
Kinda disappointing the new skidoos are breaking first ride
It was completely our fault, not the sled
Rear axel in first ride or two down the trail 😂😂😂
Так действительно люди живут?👍
Кстати пиво в кадре)🍺
Live to ride, ride to live!
Stop ride stop sell how is that going to affect Dan
Not sure, right now he can't guide or rent. Hopefully they get it figured out. We ordered a polaris 9R 146, no idea when it will arrive
Stop giving away the snowmobile spots bro
What I got from this video. Spend 20k and ride for 1 hour.
what everyone else got from this video: BD Nation are avg weekend warriors that cant remember to tighten an axle bolt
Ty everyone Snow White won
ski doo quality 🤣🤣 easy fix tho
thats boondocker brain forgetting to tighten bolts...these guys aint it man lol
@@3DProductions nah, ski doo isn’t it .
@@BlazinDutches regardless what you like or not that fail was on them lol
Денег дофига вот и не жалко технику
So let me get this straight… you guys spend tens of thousands of dollars on these mountain sleds and they last 3 miles… I spend 8k on a utility sled and it goes forever without issues… how does that make any sense?
Bud it's all about the miles per smiles, we don't worry about that. If my track blows through my suspension @ 3kms she be warranty and move on. I do see ice age rails on it so might be tough call. Braaaap on buddy braaap on!
forgot to tighten a bolt. not skiddo fault
You're not letting them wrench on your sled. Obviously.
Ski Doo garbage. they should have warranted the track and rear axle bolts 200%
forgot to tighten a bolt...not skiddo fault.
That's Ski Poo for you... gen5 aren't better
Manufacturer of the sled had little or nothing to do with the failure. Read the other comments here and you'll see what I am referring to.
Please stop using the music. Had to stop at 11:49.
Never
@@Boondock_Nation aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand thats why your stuck under 20k subs
