The Legend RETURNS! SteelSeries Sensei Ten Review

2024 ж. 15 Мам.
193 129 Рет қаралды

The iconic SteelSeries Sensei gaming mouse is turning ten years old and to celebrate that they're updating the design, adding new features and calling it the Sensei Ten. This time they've kept the original Sensei design but updated the switches, added the TrueMove Pro sensor, and launched a new color too. But in a market that's now FULL of competitors, is this the best gaming mouse of 2019 or is it simply out of date?

  • The OG Sensei had both a soft braided cable, and liftoff adjustment. It also had button switches that failed after 11-12 months. Great warranty though, replaced with a new one every time.

  • Thanks for the review. I've been looking for some time for a nice, simple, quality, ambidextrous wired mouse to replace my ancient Logitech Click! M-BT85 optical mouse from 2003, that only recently has started to have chattering issues with the buttons. I have large hands, so I prefer to use a large, weighty mouse, rather than those smaller lightweight type ones that seem to be in vogue at the moment. With it's advertised improved build quality and durability over the original, the SteelSeries Sensei Ten looks to be both a great replacement and a great upgrade on my existing mouse.

  • I have the sensei raw and this mouse looks to be almost identical, I love my mouse and I'll probably be getting the ten, the only problem I have with it is just the matte finish because over time it begins to wear away where my thumb, index, middle and ring finger sit, the matte finish wears away to reveal just the hard plastic underneath making the mouse look kind of gross lol so im kind of disappointed that they brought back that matte finish on the ten but I just love the weight and feel of the mouse and those 4 mouse buttons are just so useful (i use all of them when gaming, usually for item slots)

  • I like the shape and finish and 'feel' of the ten... but I decided for the DM1 FPS instead. XM1 got me into the Sensei style shape (love that mouse) and I wanted to give the original, slightly larger feeling shape a try. I know it's not a 1:1 match with the Ten or OG models, but it's close enough, but with most modern features already included.

  • Awesome video as always. Had a steelseries sensei raw as my first gaming mouse. Died overnight for no reason after 2 years, sitting on my desk. Steelseries support was pretty bad (i had to pay to send the mouse to denmark) I don't feel like buying steelseries again.

    • yeah and this guy gets it (did his homework) that sensei simply only came from older chinese (like most of jap culture ) of "xian sheng"(mandarin spelling, i don't know exact cantonese or older pronounciation) which modern days only mean "sir" but used to weight a bit more, whether that means teacher, or master, don't really matter. to elaborate more: sensei and shifu are people who tend to teach. i don't care what, martial arts or otherwise, but a master(i don't know the word in japanese, I don't think there isn't a word for it, but I know there is a difference in chinese context) usually just mean a great practitioner in any language, someone with skills. need to be respected/fear whether they teach or there's nothing relevant to their practice being taught at all. In fact you could even say that teachers aren't usually even that skilled, especially when it comes to "professional coaches" who don't have enough raw talent but has the brains or is nurtur savvy. then there's of course grandmaster, but you are all gamers so. no game has replaced the designation "master" less "grandmaster" with the word "sensei", again as I've said earlier, "sir" is an extremely courteous term in modern day, that only students use to address teachers in these cases

      @hioxd@hioxd4 жыл бұрын
    • yeah I've never been of fan of super-lightweight mice either... just the thought of holding one makes me believe that it'll feel... cheap in a way, like they just made a plastic shell with barely any electronic component inside... when a mouse has some decent weight it usually feel like it's a quality product, when it barely weight anything it reminds me of those shitty dollar store toys I used to get as a kid that would break in less than a week... I'm probably wrong honestly but that's just how I would feel when holding one... I wanna feel like I'm holding something other than a plastic shell with a PCB inside

  • I've been using the same original Sensei since 2012, and it is by far my favorite mouse. It's beat up, the surface has peeled, and the LCD screen on the bottom doesn't work well anymore, but I love the shape of it and how well it functions. At first I was pretty excited to see a renewed version of the Sensei (not the Sensei 310 - that mouse isn't anything like the original) so I can possibly replace mine. However, I am pretty disappointed to see that Steelseries has cheaped out on this mouse while charging the same price as the original. I would have at least wanted to see a braided cable. Having a plain rubber cable on a premium mouse is a joke in 2019. They also got rid of onboard memory, so it's more like the Sensei Raw. To me it's not that big of a deal since most people probably aren't bringing their mouse to use on different computers, but that's another feature they removed while still charging the same price. I'm glad I bought a spare when the original were still in stock. I guess I'll be using the original Sensei for a while longer until they get their act together. Or maybe switch to the Razer Viper.

  • Hi bro, my hand is 17 cm long, I measured it from the tip of the middle finger to the end of the palm, I measured it with a ruler to measure, do you think this mouse will be comfortable for me?

    • It will, I'm used to Logitech peripherals, I was the other day in my local store to buy some peripherals for my new build, I gave it a try, and man is it comfortable! I purchased it immediately without looking at the prices elsewhere, I play mostly fps games and its a blessing of a mouse, don't listen to youtube reviews, as it seem the trend now is to find something negative to show off your knowledge and higher taste, go to your local store and try it before making a decision, I have big hands don't the size of them but I'm a 187cm guy if that makes any help.
