The Legend RETURNS! SteelSeries Sensei Ten Review
The iconic SteelSeries Sensei gaming mouse is turning ten years old and to celebrate that they're updating the design, adding new features and calling it the Sensei Ten. This time they've kept the original Sensei design but updated the switches, added the TrueMove Pro sensor, and launched a new color too. But in a market that's now FULL of competitors, is this the best gaming mouse of 2019 or is it simply out of date?

The OG Sensei had both a soft braided cable, and liftoff adjustment. It also had button switches that failed after 11-12 months. Great warranty though, replaced with a new one every time.
Man make a roundup of top 5 gaming mouse in 2019 at different budget
Thanks for the review. I've been looking for some time for a nice, simple, quality, ambidextrous wired mouse to replace my ancient Logitech Click! M-BT85 optical mouse from 2003, that only recently has started to have chattering issues with the buttons. I have large hands, so I prefer to use a large, weighty mouse, rather than those smaller lightweight type ones that seem to be in vogue at the moment. With it's advertised improved build quality and durability over the original, the SteelSeries Sensei Ten looks to be both a great replacement and a great upgrade on my existing mouse.
Can we get a comparison to the previous senseis like the Sensei 310, Sensei Raw and etc...
awesome finally a review for this! :D
Looking forward to The Xtrfy M4 review.
I am still using my original Sensei from 2012. It is a sensational piece of kit so pleased to see they are still available. When my current mouse goes to the big cheese factory in the sky I will be buying another Sensei.
Same here man still using my steelseries raw gonna buy on monday thensensei ten for just 50€, just found a special price at a retailer
@@judaspampers4700I also have the RAW but the rubber was balding and starting to get disgusting a few years ago so I scraped everything off. Now it’s completely bald but still going strong. 😂
Love your videos, keep it up!
I have the sensei raw and this mouse looks to be almost identical, I love my mouse and I'll probably be getting the ten, the only problem I have with it is just the matte finish because over time it begins to wear away where my thumb, index, middle and ring finger sit, the matte finish wears away to reveal just the hard plastic underneath making the mouse look kind of gross lol so im kind of disappointed that they brought back that matte finish on the ten but I just love the weight and feel of the mouse and those 4 mouse buttons are just so useful (i use all of them when gaming, usually for item slots)
I like the shape and finish and 'feel' of the ten... but I decided for the DM1 FPS instead. XM1 got me into the Sensei style shape (love that mouse) and I wanted to give the original, slightly larger feeling shape a try. I know it's not a 1:1 match with the Ten or OG models, but it's close enough, but with most modern features already included.
Awesome video as always. Had a steelseries sensei raw as my first gaming mouse. Died overnight for no reason after 2 years, sitting on my desk. Steelseries support was pretty bad (i had to pay to send the mouse to denmark) I don't feel like buying steelseries again.
Reminds me heavily of the ms intellimouse 3.0 which is my favorite mouse of all time. Woxic from mousesports should have this mouse as well.
I have Razer Viper Mecury, Steelseries Sensei Ten and Steelseries Prime+; my favourite is the sensei ten, the tracking distance is ok for me and the balance it's really fine, 90g that I don't feel even compared to the 70 of the viper and the prime +
Wow haven't seen an OG Sensei shape in a long time
Loving my Rival 600 (with the exception of the sticky thumb area due to glue from under the pad) and a bit disappointed to see Sensei, my second favorite mouse ever after Ikari seen not done justice.
Nice choice of choosing a Shinto-themed BGM on the intro.
yeah and this guy gets it (did his homework) that sensei simply only came from older chinese (like most of jap culture ) of "xian sheng"(mandarin spelling, i don't know exact cantonese or older pronounciation) which modern days only mean "sir" but used to weight a bit more, whether that means teacher, or master, don't really matter. to elaborate more: sensei and shifu are people who tend to teach. i don't care what, martial arts or otherwise, but a master(i don't know the word in japanese, I don't think there isn't a word for it, but I know there is a difference in chinese context) usually just mean a great practitioner in any language, someone with skills. need to be respected/fear whether they teach or there's nothing relevant to their practice being taught at all. In fact you could even say that teachers aren't usually even that skilled, especially when it comes to "professional coaches" who don't have enough raw talent but has the brains or is nurtur savvy. then there's of course grandmaster, but you are all gamers so. no game has replaced the designation "master" less "grandmaster" with the word "sensei", again as I've said earlier, "sir" is an extremely courteous term in modern day, that only students use to address teachers in these cases
Finally I've been waiting for this review!
Are you using a new camera? Everything looks ultra sharp and detail
i love the shape of that mouse
1:20 the Metalic surface is the Sensei Pro. And the Sensei Raw used the same as Sensei Ten
I for one do not see the appeal in mice with holes all over them. The amount of human matter they’ll accumulate over time is not a nice thought...
For which mouse? If you're talking about the glorious gaming model O mouse, it's probably the best mouse I've owned, super light, and responsive, and sturdy. No problems ever eith squeaking I didnt even know that was a thing.
yeah I've never been of fan of super-lightweight mice either... just the thought of holding one makes me believe that it'll feel... cheap in a way, like they just made a plastic shell with barely any electronic component inside... when a mouse has some decent weight it usually feel like it's a quality product, when it barely weight anything it reminds me of those shitty dollar store toys I used to get as a kid that would break in less than a week... I'm probably wrong honestly but that's just how I would feel when holding one... I wanna feel like I'm holding something other than a plastic shell with a PCB inside
INFERNOdll It’s just a stupid trend. Can’t wait for it to die
@@Wysdiff exactly dude, someone finally said it.
Going to grab the Model O- to see if it can outperform my G502 i'm not tossing away the G502 it's awesome i just want to try something with less weight, this Sensei Ten looks and seems good.
Mouse costs 69$: Everyone: Nice
Me: Mice
Nice
canadians: 90$ fuck
I was just about to make a comment on it lmfao
Poles: fuck 319 PLN
I want the og of steel series gaming keyboards back. :(
Exactly
where did you get that fire jacket from the beginning, I want one!
@HardwareCanucks what is the keyboard that can be seen on video connected to your workstation?
I still use an original Sensei, and even have a spare one that I've never unboxed. I wonder if they fixed the scroll squeaking. After buying my second Sensei mouse I noticed the scroll started squeaking in less than a month of usage.
Hi, does this mouse carry over the button remaps/macro rebinds when plugged into a different computer with no Steelseries Engine 3 installed? Thank you!
The title is "sensei" but the intro song is more like a Thailand song 😁 but yeah honestly good review like usually 👍
Good gameplay skills!
What is the keyboard you have on the table?
The shape is the reason why it's a classic. But I always had a problem with the laser sensor, it would eventually break by spazing out whenever I had to do quick whips (pause). Lol they always say the next one with the best sensor then it would break the same way.
I just ran into this mouse at a local store. I think it's way too expensive *but* for some reason my clammy fingers *really* liked the coating. Any other mice with a similar coating out there?
I am using both Logitech G pro mouse (wired) and the Rival 310 and cannot decide. I need an opinion and advice from you Sensei Dmitry
really wanna see this for the rival 300
i really think this was just something they did to commemorate the classic mouse. bring it back in to the market updated and all to eventually make more of these with game branded editions. wish it was maybe 10$ cheaper. personally i don't mind if they don't copy everyone else with the holes in mice and making something as light as possible. really would prefer they go after the g pro and use the sensei shape but trim the fat and possibly give us something in the 80 gram range but wireless
Yeah it looks just like the RAW but even $50 is way too much when mice have improved so much recently and the Sensei 310 is $40.
dude. sensei prime
天 ('ten' - heavens) on the mouse and it's the Sensei's 'tenth' anniversary. Heh, nice play on words. A shame that it's so underwhelming for such an occasion. Although I guess there's not much more you can do with a design that is meant to be simple.
@John Titor well, its not about what it means.
They could, you know, make it lighter at 70 grams or less.
@@kanyegrande4312 Some people specifically want a heavier mouse...
yeah lol tian is mostly used for "sky" or day
What kind of keyboard is that? :)
Their Diablo 3 mouse is based of the sensei mouse and has a threaded cable. It's been my favourite mouse for years
What kind of keyboard do you use?
Is this the upgrade of the sensei raw?
Finally, i was so bummed to see my favorite mouse go back in the day but i'm picking this up now.
better buy the XM1 tbh
@@Max-ss2gy yeah defo
Not a fan of the paracord cables. Collects dust and stuff. But that did look a bit thicc. Love the short rubber cable that came with my Rival 700. It's connected to the keyboard and most of the cable hides under the board.
Can someone tell me whats the lift off distance on this mouse, since im really interested about it but can't find it anywhere...? Thanks
Production Value: Off the Charts
Video production value: high Mouse production value: 20$ chinese clone
Thanks thanks 🙏 🤘 -D.
@@HardwareCanucks this is like a conversation i had with my apartment manager 7 years ago when they finally revamped the 50 year old building.....lol
Sensei ten vs Logitech g403 hero. Which do you think is better? I mean the sensor. Thanks!
is this the same as the sensei Raw ?? but with RGB ?
WHERE CAN I BUY THAT DRAWER BY DESK LEFT SIDE ?
Is it smaller than the regular model o or the model o small edition because i'm cinfused
Loved the original sensei, it was comfortable, and i could hard grip and rest my whole hand on it without pressing click buttons accidentally and I could also pick my mouse up and it would track with the laser sensor unlike g pro. Hopefully the sensei ten will be the same
Mom, can we get Chris Pratt? Mom: we have Chris Pratt at home. CHRIS PRATT AT HOME:
Wait I thought you meant the mouse
I thought the same thing "Damn this dude looks like a Chinese knock-off Chris Pratt" hahahaa
possibly the most underrated comment ever
Do you have a Twitch? 🤔
What keyboard is that?
What mouse are u using right now?
i have a legitimate question that all the reviewer never mention about, how much is CPU consumption with these mouse after installing there respective software i have a logitech g9x that make my PC shutter took me several years to find that what was causing it, took like between 15 to 40 % cpu usage just as a move it.even if i lower the report per second was a little bit better but still make my pc shutter. i miss the ps2 mouse for that reason
How do you get those settings for dpi?
what keyboard is that?
Huntsman TE review please.
I wanted to buy a new sensei raw because my one is a little old and used up but now I know what to buy
does anyone know how easy the clicking is compared to the old "frost blue" one? I´m currently using the old and i LOVE how easy it is, the ten seems a bit harder?!
Nice review You should really try rainbow six siege and have some siege footages when playing :)
It's looking cool but i didn't like the wire 😬
is this much small than the sensei 310?
I am still using my Steelseries Sensei [RAW] since it came out. Only one button on left side stopped working from smashing it.
i dropped my sensei raw onto the ground one day, and the left click shell opened up. since then, it became a total shit lul. also, my dpi button broke.
4:23 headset ? PLEASE
To be honest...Iam not really like the braided cable on my mice cuz usually its difficult to wrap it for gaming on go
What's the music at the begining of the video?
Im Wondering how long is the Cord
I couldn't help but notice how he had the exact same table lamp as me
I have the sensei RAW rubberized. i think that the older one I have is better than this one??
but where is the ikari? Idk but I loved that mouse so damn much
Which mouse is better for leftys? Steelseries Sensei 310 or Steelseries Sensei TEN?
I've been using the same original Sensei since 2012, and it is by far my favorite mouse. It's beat up, the surface has peeled, and the LCD screen on the bottom doesn't work well anymore, but I love the shape of it and how well it functions. At first I was pretty excited to see a renewed version of the Sensei (not the Sensei 310 - that mouse isn't anything like the original) so I can possibly replace mine. However, I am pretty disappointed to see that Steelseries has cheaped out on this mouse while charging the same price as the original. I would have at least wanted to see a braided cable. Having a plain rubber cable on a premium mouse is a joke in 2019. They also got rid of onboard memory, so it's more like the Sensei Raw. To me it's not that big of a deal since most people probably aren't bringing their mouse to use on different computers, but that's another feature they removed while still charging the same price. I'm glad I bought a spare when the original were still in stock. I guess I'll be using the original Sensei for a while longer until they get their act together. Or maybe switch to the Razer Viper.
braided cables arent good anymore , looks all the problems with the 502 braided cables , they pell off in a couple months , i owned a g502 and the braided cable start to pelling off in half year .
However this new mouse ten is optical and sensei raw was laser. Im currently contemplating whether to buy the old one cuz its also cheaper or grab this new one since its optical, and also apparently "updated" with new software. What do you think?
How does it not have a braided cable when the original Sensei did?
I was really missing the Sensei line :) Glad to see this, even that the cable is not that good.
Keyboard?
i still have the original sensei raw
please review the steelseries arctis 1 wireless
The intro music sounds like a horror movie
can you assign the DPI button to something else or is it locked on that??
You can
What game was that?
SteelSeries Rival 310 refresh, pluzz
the model o is great but you cant change per 50 dpi you can go 400 /500/ 600 you cant put it on something like 450
Sensei 10 vs Rival 600?
Does anybody know what keyboard is this 4:27 ?
Can you put the cloud alpha mic and see if it works on the cloud 2 or do it the other way around
Yea
Great idea
I should have thought of that
Please review G-Wolves Hati
Please push out that huntsman te review
I knooooow! I’ve really been enjoying it so much, it’s deff a recommend from me! 👍 -D.
HardwareCanucks I already have it, I just wanna see another awesome review!
a sensei 310 wireless would be great
Hi dude are you doing any giveaways lately????
nice gamelan backsound
I wonder if the coating will last more then a few years.. I would prefer plain plastic instead of these coatings...
I am honestly not getting a new mouse until they make a wireless version of this...
Is this compatible with Xbox?
G402 is the GOAT ,most comfortable mouse i’ve really played with !
I wish they made da sensei or rival 3 wireless
Your 310 has a softer cable because it has been used for years...it's the same exact type of rubber coating which becomes soft after a week or so of use...also rubber coated cables are harder to break while using a bungee.
Kailh GM?
When is Kinzu return?
Hi bro, my hand is 17 cm long, I measured it from the tip of the middle finger to the end of the palm, I measured it with a ruler to measure, do you think this mouse will be comfortable for me?
It will, I'm used to Logitech peripherals, I was the other day in my local store to buy some peripherals for my new build, I gave it a try, and man is it comfortable! I purchased it immediately without looking at the prices elsewhere, I play mostly fps games and its a blessing of a mouse, don't listen to youtube reviews, as it seem the trend now is to find something negative to show off your knowledge and higher taste, go to your local store and try it before making a decision, I have big hands don't the size of them but I'm a 187cm guy if that makes any help.
