I feel sorry for joyce he should have had his big payday. It was hard too watch him get bust up i reslly like him. But this was like watching a fighter in 0.75x speed vs zheng at normal speed. So mutch more powerfull and faster. Also couldnt avoid that left hand all night it literilly could miss. Im a big fan of joyce hes a warrier and i hope he can bounce back from thid he deserves a big payday!

I agree mate, in fact when watching it back closely it actually appears that the right eye was damaged quite badly from that first heavy attack in the 1st ... well done to Zhang, but if, as they're suggesting Joyce's orbital bone was broken, how he made it to the 6th half blinded & without taking a count or even quitting as others have in the past is quite incredible! 👍👍👍
Zhang was brilliant, Joe was brilliant in defeat, referee was brilliant with stoppage. Only ones who were out of order were the judges and the commentators, as usual.

Not many people would rate a Chinese fighter. Neither did I, especially in the Heavyweight Division. Zhang is one tough man who fires fast hard shots. He is a legitimate title challenger. My biggest surprise was at the conclusion of the fight Zhang never had any swelling or marks on his face.
If the asians were generally more bigger sized with larger genetic pool, they'd be more of a threat. They are more competitive in the smaller divisions.

Zhang is an animal. Technically and fundamentally sound plus he has that natural timing and beautiful power.
I really like him as a fighter. He's quite flat footed, but somehow that seems to work to his advantage. Sort of plods around and throws well timed shots and never expense energy where he doesn't need to

Zhang did his work in 2 rounds and then sat back to pick his teeth. From 3-6, he just saved his strength and pinged one eyed Joe in the eye after letting him throw every ten shorts. Excellent strategy for the 40years old man. I am 40. Zhang is my motivation. Blueprint to how one should approach almost everything in life. Do the hard work early.
Respect to the composure and sportsmanship of Joyce. He accepted the waving off without flinching or protest. Went to congratulate the opponent right away.👍

This fight verified my feelings about Joyce. First , he is probably the SLOWEST punching heavyweight I have ever seen . He punches like he is under water. He holds his hands up but, they are apart leaving him open to straight shots down the middle which Zhang took full advantage of. I never saw Zhang before this fight. He fought perfectly in the first round. What surprised me was he actually looked a bit gassed in the second round! Mouth wide open and huffing and puffing already. Lucky for him Joyce was such an easy target. I enjoyed the fight and look forward to seeing Zhang again. Joyce on the other hand will have to be matched very carefully if he wants to win. I don't see much of a future for him. Just being honest.
I always felt the guy was overhyped after looking hes fights and Fury thought he has a chance against him (payday maybe) Not taking anything away from the guy but getting beaten up by a 40 years old man letting those punches just go straight in... Another AJ.... I think even AJ as bodybuilder boxer has a better Defense.

That was the most blatant case of ref bias I've ever seen. He had no reason to stop that at that moment.
Yeah I thought that was crazy. Zhang moved out of the way to let Joyce stumble past him into the corner and then the ref starts yelling at him. Weird.

Zhang is 40. Neither of these guys are champion material. Not now, not 10 years ago. They're solid campaigners. Usyk, Fury, Aj and Wilder all beats them easily.

Big Bang Zhang has one of the more memorable boxing names in a while! Joyce appeared to be in good shape, and stayed very active, but never could sort out how to avoid Zhang's lead straight left. Hate to see when a fight ends on an injury, but I am not sure that the last 6 would have looked much different than the first 6. Maybe if Big Bang gassed out or something.
This was tough to watch, Joyce took a beating and by the look on his face clearly didn't want to continue, Zhang is a powerhouse.

Just goes to show how good AJ and Jermell Charlo are. AJ beat top 10 after top 10. Only slipping up to Ruiz then won those belts back. Till he lost to a top 5 in Usyk. Because Joyce, Whyte, Fundora, Hurd, Williams, haven't been able to sustain those top level runs. People act like everyone should be like Usyk but that's nearly impossible. We don't even know if Haney will keep up his run and AJ's is comparable to Loma's. Losing to Teo is like losing to Ruiz especially with how Teo got beat by Kambosos right after. Jermell beat a bunch of top 15 contenders in his weight class. Suffered a robbery loss to Harrison and a draw with Casanto. There is no Usyk in his division (that would be Crawford) but he did what most of these hyped pros couldn't dream to do.
And I guarantee Franklin would be a hard fight for both of these guys. He would be outboxing Joyce and his output and headmovement could make him more of a challenge for Zhang. But people didn't want to give Joshua his due credit for schooling a top 15

He's always been like this it's the fact he can take a shot and normally walks through them with volume and they normally fold but last night he just got hit to often. If not for the eye injury he could have had a late stoppage again.

Speed, size, accuracy and southpaw all key factors. He neutralised Joyces jab beautifully with the right hand and by controlling the distance and then dominated by landing the straight left at range (and Joyce doesn’t move his head)

Seemed like Joyce underated zhang in this bout. His long standing weaknesses of being too static, slow foot work, slow upper body movements, less punches work rate really let him down this time! His great chin & power punches didn't get the job done this time around. Congratulations 2 Zhang, fast hands with a good defense, he really impressed me.

Those insulting AJ can now see that brawling is not everything at the elite level. At some point, a brawler needs to learn the sweet science in order to survive. Wilder fell despite his superpower. Now, Joyce has fallen despite his granite chin.

That’s 100% true and AJ showed he understood that in the Ruiz rematch. However against Usyk his boxing skills were just not on the same level and that’s why he had to come out brawling in those fights, which he didn’t

Zhang had Joe's number from the get go. Joe literally thought nobody could best him and he walked in the ring and got humbled.. Love the way Joe handled himself and handled the whole thing after the fight got called. Top men the both of them
Those early shots took Joyce's plan away pretty quick..
Joyce will come back .that guy was all wrong for him south paw for 1.who can move and pop that left down the pipe 2 and who can bang 3..styles make fights..still think Joyce can beat the top people as they don't hit with that type of speed of Zhang..just took him by suprise early and done his damage early Joe was eating shots but started absorbing them and giving his own back..Joe would of got him out of there by 12 I reckon of the damage wasn't to bad on that eye
Lets face it his eye was closed up for at least two rounds and Zhang could still not drop him. Without that eye damage Joyce would of worn Zhang down from round 6 and stopped him before round 12.

Zhang is very solid. He's not a dummy like a lot of the non-champions are. He's a real boxer and takes it very seriously. It's really tragic because, due to his skill, he can't get an interesting fight because anyone who has some ambition will try to avoid a risky opponent like Zhang!

Great performance by Zhang. He may look soft, but his punch selection, accuracy, and deceptive speed is quite remarkable. He really did take advantage of Joyce not using any significant head movement or footwork to create angles.
