In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.

They did have a variant of the 'buy a gift' task in series 16 but besides that I think the 'homework' tasks have been defunct since series 8
Why don’t they do 12-week tasks anymore?
@@Lsb412 they now have strictly 5 tasks an episode now instead of 6, presumably to take up less time filming, and these were usually quick tasks that could fit into an episode with 4 taped tasks. I wouldn’t mind them being brought back, but this series in particular had a lot of filler, I.e. tablecloth eggs, pint money

I didn't realize it the first time I watched this task. Russell didn't even make an announcement. He shouted a command.
Similar goes for Lisa Tarbuck and Happy Birthday. It's more a wish than an announcement.

An Englishman in India shouting for the "indian dogs" to be quiet has a certain whiff of historical authenticity..
To be fair, the pet dog population is around 30mil. alone and a estimated 70 mil. more street dogs. Though I doubt yelling from a balcony reached that far, even in dog hearing. Not his problem I suppose, he made the announcement, they just didn't listen.
@@insaincaldo Was it an announcement though? It was more a general instruction I reckon. Announcement has to be a statement or a declaration. I have the same issue with "Happy Birthday" being an announcement.

Though it is not the same, you are not telling the person to have a good day, you say it is a good day, because you are celebrating them and then you wish them a happy birthday, because you hope their day will be as good as their existence is worth celebration.
I love both of you missing the point. The British used to have racist policies and had plenty of establishments with signs that said "Dogs and Indians are not allowed inside", etc. Any Indian hearing a Brit go "Indian dogs" would immediately do a double take, like, "wait what?!"

Interesting, the task never said the maximum number was 5 or anything, I wonder if there was a behind-the-scenes guidance so they didn't go overboard
@@iliketrains3495I guess it was just common sense, because they had only 10 seconds. It is rather hard to go higher than 5, risking to get difficult unknown category. Personally, I wouldn't go higher than 7.

These tasks with an extremely long time are my favorite. Whenever it's "Do (something). You have 12 weeks" I know it's gonna be good

Taskmaster should do something similar to tiebreaker tasks - have each contestant do an additional task and save it for the eventuality of championships or returns. Would be a love letter to the audience to, years later, give them additional content from their favorite guests

Assim should be disqualified, America isn't a country, it's the United States of America, plus England isn't actually an independent country either. Italy, yep that's a country, Germany too. So if Italy and Germany are allowed, then England isn't.

Sometimes I think every contestant absolutely nails their task and that everyone should get five points. This was an across the board fail in my books. 😂

Russell's was particularly bad though. I mean, even he was perfectly happy to come last.
Tim didn’t complete his announcement though. If he completes it, he should get 5 points. Heck, he got 2 weeks. If he failed on the airport, make one in his own garden or somewhere else.
Quickly Google Max Fosh Gatwick and you’ll find an actual funny comedian that can make a sign outside of an Airport and not get stopped by the police.

I still can't believe Liza tanked that live task. I get audience pressure and all that, but naming all the continents is easy to do in a matter of seconds, let alone just 5 of them.
Unless you've made a point of looking up what constitutes a continent, it's not all that obvious. Is it Europe and Asia, or Eurasia? North and South America, or the Americas? Australasia, or just Australia? Does Antarctica count? And of course, a lot of people think Africa is a country.

Prawns and shrimp are different animals. When prepared and cooked, they are very similar, so the names are used interchangeably for food, but they're both different categories of crustaceans.

4 points to Tim, who didn't make an announcement at all and 2 points to both Alice and Lisa who did. Even Russell technically made an announcement even though no one cared or listened. At the time, I thought it was unfair, seeing as Tim never completed the task at all
Tim technically failed, but at least he made an effort. Liza's is borderline, but Russell's "be quiet" is categorically not an announcement: it's a command

On the countries question, he missed. American is not a country, the correct name is the United States of America. American is the name of a region of the world that includes a number of countries.
Single word shortenings of countries are generally accepted. Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, France, Belgium and many more all have longer "official" names, just like America.
Why are so many people so clueless about this? "America" is absolutely an acceptable alternative name for "United States of America". Would you likewise disqualify the name "Russia" for not being called "Russian Federation"? Or "Sweden" for not being called "Kingdom of Sweden"? The vast majority of countries have longer official names than what are typically used in common conversation. America is a country.

In English, if you want to refer to both North and South America, it's The Americas (i.e. plural). However, that term isn't used much nowadays as the individual continent names are a more useful distinction.

The most common meaning of "America" in English is the United States of America, which definitely is a country. You can argue all you want that it should exclusively be used to refer to the Americas, but it's not. There's no such thing as an 'incorrect' way to use language, bar some specific circumstances like legal documents, so long as you clearly get your point across to those you're trying to communicate with, which Asim did, hence why he was given the point.
