    • It's like, I understand that we all *know* children are going to be on here regardless, BUT at the end of the day that comes down to parents, parental controls, and how much they let their children access, and how much they monitor it. Honestly, the more invested you seem in your child's interest in content & creators, the better idea you'll have of WHAT they're really watching. Parents who don't make an effort to keep up with these things who then criticize creators for their choice in content, as well as the platform for "allowing" their children to watch something are just ignorant.

The difference is that people are looking for answers directly from her and are disappointed by the reality of her position as a result.

I think Anthony would have been better off being more specific with the questions. Don't ask questions in generality. Relate the issue to 1-5 specific people. That way she can at least say she can look into the issues and more direct answers can be given on those cases and potentially help the creator/s.

    @Ayeshoo1231@Ayeshoo12312 жыл бұрын
    • it would take HOURS to do and im sure she doesnt have the time for that. but perhaps, we can get into that (or what she can share legally and with her NDAs) in the follow up interview. Im excited by the fact that there _is_ a follow up and that she agreed to it. It really shows that she cares. theres only so much one person can do. Shes not 100% perfect, no one is, but shes trying. I cant imagine trying to appease creators, viewers, advertisers, investors, the youtube staff, etc. If human history has shown anything, no two groups can agree on everything. There are MANY groups involved that want different things. it really is complicated. and trying ot get the context for everything is a full time job on its own. like you heard that she tries to keep up with the drama and other stuff that is upsetting creators, but 500+ hours are uploaded every minute. she cant keep up with _everything_. She needs help and hopefully she can get it from her VPs and staff

      @pvic6959@pvic69592 жыл бұрын
    • the complication is that advertising companies, the government, viewers, parents, content creators, and more are all shoving them into a tiny little corner. The government doesn’t want them to target children, and pushes them away from said content (but it’s more complicated then that bc they also want the content to be child friendly, yet not for kids? idk, i only sorta understand the laws). Advertisers want brand friendly-which means more targeted for children, or at least censored- content. Then there are the creators who want to be able to make the content they wanna make (and get paid for it), without having to always avoid swearing or mentioning any hot button issues. Viewers want everything to remain as unchanged as possible, with no ads, no restrictions, no nothing. They have to give in to some points, they can’t make everyone happy. Often, the people they chose to sacrifice are the viewers and content creators: the advertisers control all the money, and the government could pass very restrictive laws on google as a whole, or even use trust busting to call it a monopoly and break it up.

      @morgand3675@morgand36752 жыл бұрын
    • @@morgand3675 I dont have much to add except to the last sentence you said. You are right, usualy the viewers and creators are the ones left out. But youtube and the advertisers know that there is no youtube without those two groups. In one way, those two groups are the most powerful If everyone decided to stop using youtube (lets say vimeo goes mainstream lol), the company would crash. youtube makes no money, advertisers dont get their ads. So in a way its in everyone's best interest to keep those two groups in mind

      @pvic6959@pvic69592 жыл бұрын
    • @@morgand3675 The biggest point you said is that the advertisers control all the money. That's why viewers and creators have less priority. Unfortunately, the only solution to that is if most people start paying for Premium. That would actually put the 'You' back into KZhead because it would kick advertisers out, KZhead's bills would be paid by the viewers, and creators will all make double the money totally unrestricted by ad guidelines. Problem there is that viewers mostly don't see it worth signing up for Premium. Note on the kid-friendly stuff, the law is we can't target kids specifically, but we can still be kid-friendly. For example, a video about laptop reviews is kid-friendly but not 'for kids' specifically. Advertiser-safe doesn't mean targeting kids, but it does mean kid-safe.

      @GamerZakh@GamerZakh2 жыл бұрын
    • It's complex because it involves creators, audience and advertisers. When your company is so big there is a lot more red tape, there are a lot more voices there are a lot more bigger picture things. At the end of the day figure out what part you want to learn about and someone can break it down because every part of their business operations is layers and layers that need to be broken down. Also there are so many automated systems in place which are not perfect but I see creators getting all up in arms at 'KZhead' but most of the flagging etc is all automated. And finally just the sheer volume and variety of content being uploaded makes the management of such data at a level that most individuals cannot comprehend.

  • Personally, I think the biggest missing feature, would be a small one day buffer when a channel get's a strike and breaks the rules, rather than removing it and issuing a strike out of the blue, we should have a day's buffer to remove the content ourselves and avoid a strike. There have been times where a video has been uploaded for over a year, is advertiser friendly, then one day, it get's taken down for "endangerment". • The sexualized content question wasn't answered correctly, or she didn't fully understand it. The issue isn't about losing monetization on sexualized videos(although that is A problem) its about small creators getting their channels deleted because it violates KZhead's Terms of Service but when a large company post a sexualized video it doesn't get deleted or punished for violating the SAME Terms of Service.

    @thenintendorocker@thenintendorocker2 жыл бұрын
    • She did answer it. Again. It’s all about money. Policy doesn’t matter. MV’s like WAP are popular. Extremely popular and therefore are money makers. Advertisers will throw money at youtube to have there ads on it. Policy only matters when a loss is being made. That is, when an advertiser pulls from youtube due to their ads playing on something they don’t wish for their brand to represent. And the algorithm helps to sort out which videos are advertiser friendly. It’s just money. It’s that simple. Wanna know the truth? Follow the money. This is for everything too, not just YT.

    • The answer: advertisers. They are evil and only care about money. They want to stay on those extremely sexual music videos. If KZhead decided to crack down on the music videos and drop the hammer, advertisers would throw a fit and might leave. That would be worse than having small channel getting their videos demonitized or something because advertisers leaving would be bad for EVERYONE. So smaller content creators have to deal with the unfair preferential treatment the industry gets because the advertisers are the ones really in power

Cause you type in porn and you get behind the scenes on training and stuff that’s not demonized. It’s the hypocrisy of if you put the word sex in the title or your say fuck your video is taken down but a video labeled how to have the best anal sex wasn’t taken down. When we do something that's not good for the platform or for advertisers it would be better to have time codes and more specific information on what's wrong at each "soft infraction", so we can even rework it to comply.

Hosnstly yt is doing their best, remember theyve been through this w the adpocalypse before and they bounced back and managed to keep the creators and the viewers on the platform, and they understandably dont wanna risk it again. Remember that money is the primary reason this site exists, creators wouldnt stay if the income isnt enough its their job, and the money comes from advertisers, yt has to please the advertisers first and foremost to keep the site alive. It would be awesome if content creators who published, like 50 hours or more of content, would be given free courses and advisers. Mainly on scriptwriting and generally on film. It's so hard to thrive on KZhead, but a little push on our backs could still inspire us to do more.

Charlie and Ethan’s interview with her was the closest we’ve ever gotten to concrete answers and change out of her and her team. Take a lesson from Twitch’s mistakes and don’t have any ambiguity. Be clear and consistent with your rules and listen to your critics and creators. Anthony asked some great questions here but some her answers were disappointing to say the least (not necessarily her fault though), for example, the advertisers allowing sexualised and explicit content on music videos because it’s popular and hives them more revenue is ridiculous and shows the double-standards on this platform.

    • well out of all the answers she gave this was the worst example, she actually gave a very clear answer for this one. Creators get paid because of the ads, companies pay to have their adds displayed, of course they would choose music videos even if they're explicit and sexualised, because they have billions of views. While creator made videos that are sexualised and explicit are a lot more "shady" in the eyes of the company, they don't want to be involved in anything controversial. They're the ones paying for it so they get to choose, that's how the world works.

Man, the news already shows that many times, and movies and TV series do it in plenty and liters of blood. All without any warning of triggers for the following (insert whatever). There are a lot of warnings before the video actually starts, so why would those channels be targeted for demonitzation when people who are squeamish about blood and such can click off when the chance is still there? Sheesh. I seriously do not get the fact how KZhead is still standing so high and mighty with all these false reasons to ruin someone's paycheck and motivation?
