The blobs you see in the vase are a side effect of creality's power loss recovery feature. The printer will stop for an instant to save it's location at normal intervals. It is especially noticeable in case mode since it will usually try to save it's progress along a seam or within the until. But since people are addicted to these useless vases y'all have been noticing them more often.
how do you go about when you need to resume print from a power failure? I mean what steps do you do to ensure you continue the print and avoid the blobs?
@@misteri09 you can do 2 things. 1: hope your power doesn't go out, because it probably won't. And if it does, suck it up and restart. 2: count the layers, find out what layer it stopped on, and remove the gcode before that layer. Before resuming, manually push a bit of filament through the head and hit start. If you did it right it should continue on that layer, there will be a visible seam however. and if you're only printing vases , which is the only time it's a problem, probably dont need a printer.

Get an apc battery backup.
@@lekifyprints take hours, an apc tends to have enough battery to shut down a server / pc cleanly. Not keep it running

Creality has a combo package, the Ender 3D with the 10 wat engraver. My question, I would like to engrave my camping knife with my logo, will it engrave metal?

Hey. I just ordered the anycubic kobra and was considering the ender 3 s1 as well. What are your thoughts on what is best for a beginner? I also want to use many materials. Based on my research the kobra was the best. Do you agree?
I have a standard Kobra and a Ender 3 v2 neo. My ender has worked flawlessly. My kobra has had its extruder motor and power board replaced by the factory due to defects.
@@turkeyman888 I'm researching my first 3D printer and debating to go with the Ender 3 V2 Neo or just splurge a little and get the Ender 3 S1 Pro. Curious what your thoughts would be as a current user of the Ender v2 Neo.
@Yielar1 I'm not familiar with what additional features the Pro offers so I would research that and make a decision based upon what features I really need from a printer. I couldn't be happier with my Neo so far.

Question! Can you give me the exact Firmware Files you used for your the Ender 3 S1 Pro to add the laser module? I can only find firmware for the standard Ender 3 S1, very different of course because the pro has the touch screen ....

How tall of an object can you place under the laser? For example can you put a box that is 5" tall and laser the top? or a metal bottle laying on its side?
Hi, as someone who just bought their own 5W laser model, and found this video looking for tips. Here is my practical experiance. 200mm x 200mm side by side and 170mm max Z axis.

I'm having an odd issue. When i design a 100mm square it comes out as 80mm. When it use the Ender controls and move it 10mm it moves 8mm. Any thoughts?

I have a ender 3 s1 pro and a 5 watt laser I did all the necessary firmware updates. But I can't find where to send g-code to SD card for laser engraving. Where did you get the slicing software
Same problem, the manual in the box it is not updated. The manual shows that in the creality slice, we should add a new printer and look for the ender 3 s1 laser module, but I can't find that aspects in the new printer.

Where did you get the laser Firmware? I have been trying to get my laser to work but cannot get the correct start up screen.

I can't get my start up screen to look like his either. I can't find the slicing software either
Creality Print. A very, very basic laser cutting software. I am on the web looking for something with instruction on how to use this software. Default setting for engraving is awesome. BUT! If I use default on a piece of cardboard I will burn down the house... It cut 1 mm into the sample piece of wood on the dark areas!

Sweet. Can you cut things with the laser or does it only do etching?
It can not cut plywood in the video but it can cut felt, paper or something. But This module is not for cutting actually, only for engraving
@@retsetman9698 I got it to cut, by repeating passes. You can set it in the software. I am now tuning settings for 1mm grey board. Going to start 2mm basewood. It is stated that it can cut 5mm wood. But will see.
Question with the laser engraver are you able to choose the wattage it engraves at?
It comes in 1.5w or 5w variants on Amazon. Those are the only two options. I'm not sure if you can lower the 5w version to 3w or anything since I haven't received mine just yet (Saturday). So I will just say maybe for now.
As an owner of a 5w module. No. You set the percentage of power. default is 80%. Cut a beautiful engraving 1st go. I am now working on getting Creality Print to complete enough runs to cut 3mm MDF. Have succeeded with 1mm grey board. Next step is 2mm Bass wood.
Is it one of the latest versions of ender printers? Cuz I wanna buy one but I think it has a small maximum size of printing... what do you think?😅

You have to purchase it separately from the 3D printer.

Your local hardware store. Mine can cut it to size. for free. But that is here in South Africa. US citizens should have more options than me.

Nope. I use steel as a back plate. BUt in videos it engraves stone/slate. And wood is candy for it.

It would be good if you could inform your viewers that this printer does not recognise folders on the SD card, I finally got Creality to admit today that this is correct. their reply is below: If you put the folder in the memory card, the display will not recognize it, please do not put the folder into the memory card, and the print file should be placed in the root directory of the memory card. If placed in a folder, it may be misrecognized. So there you have it, they screwed up the software, which is effectively a downgrade on this machine!
The SD Card reader slot is BROKEN from the MANUFACTURER.
HI, I have an Ender 3 S1, and just put a 5w laser module on it yesterday. Already run into limitations with Creality Print. The latest software update has the printer seeing folders on the SD card after an upgrade. So no worries there anymore. I am looking for more info on compatible software to slice my laser files.

Try to engrave on PLA
Now that is a fuming good idea. It does say it can engrave on plastic. So will try on my 3D printed models to mark em as mine. Mind the fumes though.
Nozal size
Standard 0.4mm it can print at minimum layer height of 0.05 mm and thicker with this default nozzle that come with the printer

Slicer? If so, I always use Cura latest version but Prusa slicer or simplify3d is also great option
You waste money if you buy this printer. Mark my words. Official Creality Firmware Update crashes printer on Auto bed level, pre heat bed, and attempting to print from sd card. STAY AWAY from this printer. Be warned.
Working pretty nice with me for 3 months already
Over 1 year in, updated firmware, screen firmware. Upgraded hotend of my Ender 3 S1, and now installed the 5W laser module. Still works. Remeber to auto home before each print.
