  • I'm in the same boat Tim, a Housing collapse would help us financially. Before the Housing market skyrocketing our house was worth $150-$170 thousand in our small community. Now its worth over $250,000 and our community can't support the people to earn the wages to afford a house like this. I rather sell my house for a fair price and buy land at a fair price for a hobby farm. Raising wages is nice, but everytime wages increase a dollar, everything else increases $5 and stays out of reach for many folks. Keep tractoring!

    @BillTheTractorMan@BillTheTractorMan Жыл бұрын
    • I did not get the number but housing is slowing on multiple issues. My own observation is that there are lot of price reductions on Zillow. Higher interest rates. More indebtedness of buyers. Inflation in cost of materials. Bad economic outlook and tax rate due to bills like "Inflation Reduction Act" which is misnamed. So housing prices by my observation are coming down and it is likely that the planed community by Tim will not be happening for at least a few more years.

  • Mowing with a 10' Flexwing and a 46 horsepower tractor sounds like a serious undertaking, especially in heavy fescue and around small trees! This kind of work really showcases the power and versatility of such equipment. It's fascinating how technology and machinery can make challenging tasks more manageable and efficient. The thought of transforming a wild, overgrown area into a neatly mowed space is quite satisfying. It's always interesting to see how different terrains and vegetation types respond to mowing. Keep up the great work! 🚜🌾✨

  • Don't feel bad about the 3046 being drawn down by the grass! I was mowing a power line right if way in the low lands by the creek last summer, which hadn't been mowed in 3-4 years, and it was all chest+ high stickers, some of which were 1.25" diameter. With the 6' bush hog behind the 5320, I was in B1 non-epto, turbocharger singing, and it was still bogging.

  • Just a few short years ago I swore I would never own a tractor. A few months ago I got my first. I now have 4 attachments and counting. Lol These things are Freedom building machines in the right hands. I never knew there were so many attachments!!! You can even use the rear PTO to power a house generator, a stump grinder, a ditch witch, etc. I was mowing the 8AC of pasture with my commercial zero turn mower. I now do it with a brush hog set to 8” and my grass is so much happier. Done in 1/4 of the time when grass is waist high. Just in time for animals. I went from drinking about 15gal of gasoline per cut to about 2 gallons of diesel (big difference in mower deck at 4.5” vs brush hog @ 8”).

  • The bigger the brush cutter the better I normally run a 5 ft cutter to do my fields but I blew up the gear box so my farmer buddy let me borrow his 7 ft cutter made fields go by quick bc it was just tall grass that was with 25 pro hp tractor gear drive in low gear

  • You and the Mrs. are doing a fine job. Your audio is perfect and sounds loud and clear. The drone camera is spot on. I remember you clearing trees on this property some time ago. I would take a small chainsaw and just cut all of the remaining trees and leave them lay to dry out . then just have a fire party . bring some potatoes and ears of corn to put in the red ashes . the chainsaw would make this a real easy job ! And an interesting video . Thanks Tim .
