"You may enter into a poorly decorated area" It's as if Maxis was planning for this pack since the game came out!
This made me laugh too much
😂😂
LOL!
🤣😅😅
LMAO 😂😂🤣
Would be nice if I had to visit my ugly old builds with sims living there like "we hate this, don't know who did this to us".
after this pack get released, many sims will have epiphany that they all don't know anything about interior decoration in the past years
I can already see my Sims just lagging and standing around never finishing a job and getting bad reviews because some timer ran out 🙄
It's gonna happen.
If it’s a timed challenge I’m done - too much pressure.
@@aoefeable Hopefully there'll be a timer just like there is for the paranormal career but it will pause when you enter build mode, so the building process itself won't be timed. Fingers crossed
Sim will be getting on and off her bike for no reason when I tell her to introduce herself to her client 🤦♀️
That is painfully likely to happen. Being forced to wait 45 minutes straight because some kid a mile away has telepathically sensed your presence and demands a brief conversation, with the cancellation of said interaction not happening for all 45 in-game minutes. "It wasn't my fault the bathroom only has a sink, some towels and a roll of toilet paper! It was the red-headed child down the street! I swear it! Please don't 1-star me, I can't handle another..."
You are such an icon in the Sims community and I trust you more than anyone else. I’ve been relying on your content for I feel like almost a decade now
Well thank you it is really kind of you to say so and I thank you for placing your trust in me
Same I need to join Patreon. I feel like I owe this man SO MUCH and back since... ::checks invisible watch:: literally the entire time.
They better not randomize the favorites. I don't want to have a client that's a goth sim I made and she's requesting a pink room or something
That's exactly what I was thinking!! They better not randomize favorites...
I was wondering about this too- I've spent a lot of work on customizing a lot of Sims in my worlds, AND their homes already. I can't see randomly messing with those at all.
That's what the cas.fulleditmode is for I suppose.
@@p.bckman2997 no
There's a new trait slot coming that we've seen in the Inside Maxis streams, so it's likely this is the "Preferences" system they mention in the latest blog. Click on the icon, bring up a sub-menu full of favourite colour/radio station/architectural styles to pick from. Existing Sims will be tweakable with cas.fulleditmode, and there'll probably be a re-Preferencing potion available in the Rewards Store.
I’m just happy it’s not another fitness pack/ kits/ whatever is lower than that. Feels like EA is a secret meathead
Secret?
@@stillhuman6708 I was just about to say lmao.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’m excited! I finally realized at age 28 that I probably would have done awesome as an interior designer, but I really don’t have the time or money to go to college atm so I’ll just live my dreams out on this game! I hope I don’t get disappointed but it is EA 😂
Are they selling us one aspect of a Sims 3 expansion as its own full-priced pack again? Because this looks exactly like the architecture design career from Ambitions.
I guess that's the only way to get to 40 packs. If only each of those ideas were more fleshed out and worth the money. Like, in depth career = 4 shallow ones, maybe, but not the case.
@@CarlsSimGuides As a huge sims fan i always feel sad when i think about the state of the game or see some news about the sims, but you... one of the most influentional and respected members of the community that always helped it's growth through tutorials for years and years and years... i can't even imagine how you must feel... heart crushing, so much wasted potential due to laziness, incompente and greed
That's what I was wondering about as well. I mean, it's a whole pack centered around one career, it seems a bit too much. I guess it depends on how much content are we getting. Get to work had 3+ careers but at the same time it was an expansion pack, while this is supposed to be a game pack... I also wonder how much replay value will this career have, how long till we get bored of it? To be completely honest, for me it's not that interesting of a theme, but it seems like a lot of people are very excited about it, so I'm at the very least curious what the hype is all about. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts and my opinions 😁
If they keep doing this, firefighters should be next, right? lol I miss Sims 3 expansion packs where you got a fully flashed out pack with lots of stuff to do. If they're going to parcel things out like this and do half-assed packs they need to lower the price to reflect the lack of content. (Never buy a pack full price for Sims 4)
@@revannia firefighters sadly probably wont be fleshed out into actual careers. Theyre only NPCs rn that got introduced like last year i believe.
Definitely would love see real estate bought into Sims 4 and the ability to own more than one property. After all, it's at least insinuated the Landgraab's own several.
So glad people agree. We need to make it a thing to ask for this.
It was in a survey a good while ago, where one question asked if anyone would be interested in their Sims owning more than one home. My gut feelings say it'll happen, someday.
... and hotels PLEASE.
May as well, we have the option to own businesses. Real Estate is a business so I definitely see a Real Estate pack in the Sims 4 future, especially since flipping houses is popular in the real world. I’m curious to see our Sims own multiple homes, flip houses, deal with contractors, etc.
@@ImFrAnKiEBaBy212 I’ve built a couple of hotels but have had to list the lots as “Rentals”. I would love to have the capability of listing my lots as a multi rental dwellings (hotels/motels/inns).
So they're trying to get builders to actually play the game. Hope this works, so that more people start experiencing the actual game beyond character and house creation, maybe then the gameplay will get more of a spotlight in future updates
My theory in a nutshell. Get builders playing, they join our voices in asking why x or y are so shallow.
When Simblr stories are more interesting than the actual game itself, you know something is wrong lol.
@@alita8900 what's simblr?
@@organicstorm Tumblr but for Sims. Many of them don't even play the game anymore, they just make renders of their characters or take pictures in the game with poses etc to create their own story.
builders didn't start as exclusively builders ( maybe i am just speaking for myself but i don't think so for a lot of us ). A lot of us starting out playing the game, like me starting with Sims 1, but Sims 4 lacks so much personality and story progression that it just plain sucks. I turned to building because within a week of a pack coming out I have already experienced everything and it doesn't feel like i should replay it for a lot of reasons. The main reason the actual game is trash is lack of a generations pack tbh
One thing that this pack COULD do (but will it?) is make Sims' personalities and preferences affect their opinions/ moods of various environments you build for them. The sim likes red? The sim likes technology? Build lots of red and technology into their house to make them happier. Instead of doing the same thing every time, you'd have to strategically think about what would be best for different sims. And from a roleplay point of view, it would encourage you to put yourself in your sims' heads. Also, balancing the likes and needs of different sims would become an interesting challenge.
I was just thinking how cool would it be if a sims clothing choices affected what colours they’re set to like, say if they wear a lot of things in the “red” cas category it says they like red? I’m not very hopeful they’d have coded all that, but I’d like it
There's that extra little field in the personality of the sims that the gurus teased. I believe that might be tied into what you're suggesting. One may hope, anyway.
You must be some kind of psychic because it just leaked that likes and dislikes are officially confirmed coming with this pack
@@CarlsSimGuides , I'm hardly psychic. The little field was revealed as connected to the pack, and if so I can hardly see any other relevant function it might have. Being not the most progressive guy style-wise, I'm going to have a field-day editing townies style preferences!
Considering in my 10,000+ hours playing the Sims 3, I never played the Architectural Design career, you can probably guess how interested I am in this pack. I sincerely hope it is well implemented because if it isn't, it is going to be just as fun as chasing a client all over the map was in the Sims 3. Yeah, that's why I never did the Architectural Design career.
yeah i felt like jobs like that were never well intergrated in the sims 3. like i do think the sims 3 was a better game then the sims 4 but i have to admit by the end the sims 3 was kind of a mess sims 4 idk i give it credit for not feeling like its a mess compared the sims 3.
I never got into those careers myself, or I choose something that reflect my real life (programmer), or I pick something wacky like scientist or ghost hunter
i got discouraged the first couple jobs i took lol the clients were never happy. Like fine then I'll just be a firefighter or something T_T but I do enjoy sims 4 build/buy so maybe this'll be better. i'm sure there's still caveats anyway
I loved the Design career in theory, but it didn't work out as well in the actual game. Still one of my favorites though, aside from Firefighter.
I took the AD career in the Sims 3 once and I hated it. The Sim I worked for run away to the other side of town, we talked there and then we had to come back to the house and I wasn't paid.
Thank you for mentioning real estate! It's one of the many many things I wish they brought over from Sims 3.
it would have been an interesting idea.
Well if we really do have 8 years left of Sims 4 we may eventually get it. 🥴
Yup... I never play with money cheats anymore... but I still sometimes end up with more money than what I can spend... especially when I don't want them to move into a mansion or anything...
@@torarufo it depends on the type of family I am making/playing
@@torarufo I end up cheating to take money away and pretend it was the IRS or they gave to charity. The game is so boring gotta create our own challenges.
I really hope that they’ve managed to tie the careers into game progression or at least a bit of logic. For example, maybe they should be able to tell that a NPC family has a new baby or toddler but no room, furniture or objects for them, thus when they call up the designer the first job should be a room for them. It makes sense to me at least to link that on. I have always hated going to a sims house and finding all adults in children’s rooms or a bachelor pad with one bedroom and a full house of kids.
Seems like that's what the trailer was hinting at with baby Pancakes (idk his name) going from toddler to teen and needing his space updated. But surely The Sims wouldn't tease something in a trailer that can't be achieved in-game.🙂🙃
As an actual interior designer, I can feel the clients from hell unironically buying into the kitchen pool idea...
It’s sad that for a life simulator, the best feature it has is its building simulation. Wow, says a lot about the game
so stop playing, you won't
@@morriganja354 sis, you were bold to assume I'm still playing it
And as a builder who can care less about gameplay, this game i perfect 😍
@@morriganja354 People spend a lot of money on this game, they're allowed to complain when it doesn't meet their expectation or the expectations set by previous games. It's not as simple as "stop playing then" because no one can get their money or time back once they come to the conclusion that it is lacking the actual gameplay components that should be thoroughly developed at it's core.
Thank yooooou, I've seen so many commenters on different videos go "I'm a builder, so I'll love this pack!" :) When that's essentially the problem lol. The Sims 4 has an amazing build system that has attracted many players, but so much so that these older players have actually forgotten why they initially bought the game...For life simulation, which they rarely play anymore and instead spent hours in build mode and take photos or in CAS.
So excited to see what you have to say!! You're one of the few people I see publicly criticizing the gameplay.
the stupid sims community is the reason why the game is shallow as a puddle and fundamentally wrong as a life sim game, spoiler: sims 5 will be worse, microtransactions at a level never seen before, that's why they are going to push the online in it, but youtubers will act hyped and the game will be financially successful
Because the Sims community is bought and paid for. EA offers them perks.
lmao what, literally every sims youtuber i watch criticizes the gameplay and says sims 2/3 were better
If the gameplay was actually like these freaking trailers, I would be excited.🤷🏾♀️
ugh this! I hope they know by now, we pay attention to trailers and get disappointed when we assume something that's not there. Watch your own trailer and make sure there's nothing in there that's not explicitly in the game T_T like the Simstagram stuff in this, we know doesn't mean anything now after the snow escape trailer.
@@Meraidd simstagam in trailers has been a thing since City Living (at least) .. every year, some people get their hopes up that this trailer version simstagram reflects some kind of change in how simstagram in the game works. It never does change. I think at this point the community should be aware of this.. 🤣
@@organicstorm oh shoot lol I only started seriously playing after that so I didn't know 😅 I stopped playing for the first like, 4 years of Sims 4. that's annoying!
It's exactly the same you just tell the story in your head
Don't worry, they'll mess this up too.
Yea, I'm in that camp, I have pretty much zero faith in EA\Maxis they are gonna find a way to screw it up.
@Rose Red Gaming yeah i honestly feel like the current dev team was never up to the task of making a sims game. (from what i understand some of them worked on the sims 3 and did not enjoy working on it) granted the sims 3 was a very ambitious project which i think succeeded until the very end of its life span.(heck it was still a better version to play when the sims 4 came out) like my opinion is the current dev team for the sims 4 are just so out of touch with its community. same goes with the gurus like some of the live streams they did were the most uncomfortable streams i have ever seen.
that's what worries me. it looks like it could be cool but so did bust the dust.
😂😂😂
I can see that happening even though it's just a rehash of the interior designer career in S3 Ambitions.
Tbh it looks really interesting but at the same time I don’t want to raise my expectations for it just in case
It sounds like a nightmare (at least for anyone into rotational play) where you might have one family's house just the way you want it, then go over to the interior decorator sim and have them get a job to do something ridiculous to the house you had just right. Then, its probably not really targeted toward that play style.
As a non builder, I am disappointed this is what we are getting. It feels as though builders already get priority. I'd like to a pack with less stuff and more gameplay. Also, as a fan of Get to Work, I am scratching my head over another similar pack but only one career. Is that truly worth being excited about?
I have no interest in my Sims being interior decorators, but I do like that there's a career that involves real sims in the town. Now if only they could expand on that and make playable fitness instructor, therapist/counselor, hair stylist/beauty specialist, in-home care, and tutor roles. I do like the realtor idea too, but I'm wondering if it would be complex to implement since it would introduce debt.
well, one thing's for sure: lots of cc will get broken again
the dev team likes breaking cc content even more than putting out their own.
@@aubreymorgan9763 o truth 👀🍵✨
I also wonder if story progression might get updated for this, to help with having new rooms/lots to renovate/decorate. In the trailer it was about Iggy aging up, but maybe it could be a new spouse, etc. too. But yeah, so far, I am not entirely convinced this will have enough game play to warrant it being a *game* pack. I am interested to learn more about the pack though!
fair point. you can't deny, this is them taking a single career from an entire EP in Sims 3 and making it a standalone GP. Can we expect a firefighter GP? And a daycare GP? Perhaps our standards have lowered to the point that this is new and exciting stuff for a fair price? Just being the devil's advocate here. I am actually cautiously excited for this though. I grew to love decorating in the Sims 4 due to the game itself and Simmers online inspiring me, so I'll take any chance to renovate ugly townies' houses lol!
i am hoping it was a hint at a generations expansion pack for the one after this next expansion. maybe in december?
I thought there was no story progression on TS4
The Sims team knows it’s strengths. The game looks good and the vast majority of players build. Most likely it lacks gameplay and ultimately it’s $20 for furniture and cas. Also why are trailers made for 4 year olds it’s difficult to watch
I really feel like it's just $20 for furniture, I saw TONS of new furniture, but less cas items than the last stuff pack being advertised
Not to really disagree but to point out that a career like this involves a ton of coding and creation of preferences, detection of things in a room, their color etc. We don't know if this might also lead to all Sims finally having preferences and other improvements simply by virtue of having those concepts hooked together.
@@CarlsSimGuides that's true! I hope they give us more information about the pack and the base game update soon
@@CarlsSimGuides I don’t doubt the career took a lot of effort to create, I wonder how repetitive it will feel though and that’s the only gameplay included. It would be great if they added favorites to each sim in the base game but I can’t imagine it will be as good as we hope. For me 4 is a vicious cycle of “oh this looks really cool”, hours in build mode, and then try to actually play but it’s disappointing and I feel like I’ve wasted time and money. It’s too expensive for what it is.
Remember when all these careers and jobs were in one pack in the sims 3?
More like two, they have the careers one, then that one where you can own a restaurant... which should have been a part of the first one. Now we're getting another pack with another career instead of just grouping it all into one pack.
Simmers : Damn thats not band... Sims Team : But you can mess up with someone house... Probably Simmers : Thats, hermano, is a good answer
Hurray for one review of a game pack that actually focuses on the game aspects
The whole game pack is a career lol I can't be the only one.
@@CarlsSimGuides trust me - I follow a TON. and the furniture has been the main point of discussion. Just glad someone is thinking thorough the game aspect of the sims
Agreed. It's fair to focus on the furniture a bit, builder's especially, but you'd think that someone would focus on the game mechanics introduced in.....you know. A game pack-
@@lunaredelvour2972 I mean, in this instance it's fair. If the build mode items that are attached to a career about using build mode all the time then it kinda matters to rate the build mode. Especially since that's all that can be accurately judged from a photo or trailer
True, most have been googly eyed on the new decor & furniture today.
While I DO enjoy making over Sims houses, I *CAN* already do that. I'm not hyped. I might get used to the style of the new objects and grow to like them, but atm I almost hate how the new shelves/bookcases look, those round corners are atrocious 😅
Mood! There are a few items I like, but then those shelves or side tables come up and they're just so jarring I forget what I was looking at lol
we had a thing like this in sims 3. all repack feels like a lighthearted version of sims 3 packs
While I am warming up to the idea, something about a game pack revolving entirely around a single career doesn’t sit right with me. I know there is going to be a lot of build/buy and some new cas items too, but I feel like something else needs to be offered to justify the price point. A new world? Story progression? Likes and dislikes possibly being an actual feature?
I'm excited about this one for once, but as per usual I let others spend their money first and see how it holds up
I am really pleasantly surprised with this pack. There is a lot of new and different clutter items and the fact that they finally separated the stovetop from the oven is great. They even made a child wardrobe rack. I am hoping we have a ton of glitches and problems. Finally we have a pack that for once, people are not really complaining.
Are we sure it's definitely a separated stovetop? I saw James Turner mentioning that in his trailer reaction, initially being excited but eventually not being sure if it's genuinely separate or tied to the specific cabinet that comes with this pack.
@@Oscitant_Otter You have a point there but I will take it if that is what we have.
Someone commented on James’s video that Guru Ninja confirmed they are separate 🙂

@@holosapiens The idea is great. IF they don’t mess it up, it can be a good addition to the game, after a while of messed up releases. PS: I emphasize IF, because it’s a very important condition for the pack to be good).
i’m excited for the concept ... but i’ve been excited for the concepts for other packs too and been sorely disappointed each time so... can’t wait to see what glitches come this time and how this pack unintentionally ruins more gameplay. still waiting for restaurants & the acting career to work well
What do you mean about the acting career? I've not played it since the most recent update, but it was fine for me before that .. 🤔
@@organicstorm I need to try it out again now, maybe they’ve fixed it but for months if your sim left their home lot after an audition but before the actual gig then the gig would never actually start. the time would come and go and your sim wouldn’t go to work or even get punished for not going. made the career unusable for me & made me so frustrated until I found people talking about it on forums.
The Sims 2: *adds the Architecture career track but everything is text-based* The Sims 3: *adds the Architectural Designer career track, but this time, everything's hands-on in the big open world* The Sims 4: *adds the Interior Designer career track in this Dream Home Decorator game pack*
I'm more excited to hear carl's review about the pack than the actual pack itself smh :p
Okay yes it is nice but do we really need this? There are gameplay aspects that simmers want and NEED way more than more interior designs. -_-
This will get builders like me to actually do some gameplay so i like this idea And vice versa.. it could get those who don't build to actually get into it So it's pretty smart
@@isaaclim8645 YES! But when u realize that The Sims 4 gameplay is very bad, you'll just go back to build mode...
@@gumelloorignal correct.. it just bores me tbh. I've always seen sims 4 as more of a build simulator lol
@@isaaclim8645 Oh, i see your point... But u know something? EA sell us the sims 4 as a "simulation life game", and ironically this is the worst part/aspect of the game... Anyways, i hope EA get better the gameplay of the sims 4, because the game it's not only build mode and cas.
@@gumelloorignal at this point i don't see them being able to drastically improve the 'life simulation' aspects to sims 2/3 levels unless they do a massive overhall so i think they are just playing off on the strengths of sims 4 which is the build buy mode All we can hope is the sims 5 will be more balanced in that regard
I’m so curious about the sim preference thing. If I do two renovations for the same townie, will their favourite colour be the same each time? Can I set my sims’ favourite colours? (Will sims finally get likes and dislikes?!) Also, if correctly tagged CC will be available to use on jobs, that would open up SO MANY possibilities!
My question is: Is this going to be a small update to personalities like in sims 3 you have favourite colors and such? I ask because I notice some sims say they don't like the color pink. I hope they don't auto like a color. I hope you get to pick it. And I'm hopeful you get to pick their favourite food n star signs too like in sims 3 n 2
we do know , from a leak, there is going to be another trait of sorts that is tied to your aspiration.
Even if there is another trait added, since it's tied to the aspiration (or at least appears to be) it would very odd for it to be something as insignificant as color preference. Definitely feel like the likes and dislikes are just going to be randomly generated per job.
@@Oscitant_Otter yea i never thought it would be a color lol. i am just saying it is something they can look forward to
@@Oscitant_Otter I really hope that's not the case but knowing Sims 4🙄
So we need an entire game pack to decorate sims homes ... I’m confused
What I'm wondering about this pack is this: are renovations permanent? Let's say you remodel the Pancakes' house, if you later visit it, or for some reason decided to play with that Sims team made family, will the house revert back to how it was? Or will your renovations remain in effect? Also, I'm a bit disappointed that most, if not all of the items have a modern aesthetic to it. Can we get more worn out, broken down, crummy items?
Vintage Furniture Stuff Pack, coming soon! (No, but seriously, the players who like historical settings have been left in the dust ..) especially in CAS, it is quite hard to find "modest" clothing amongst new additions that aren't super modern (or ugly) at the same time. Can I get sth nice that doesn't expose my Sims' fupa and upper thighs? I'm also not a fan of the rounded Ikea look. It looks like cheap boarding school/dormitory furniture, not sth you'd invest in for long-term, the shelving in particular. Ugh. 😅
I only have base game. I feel like most of it has a worn down or dated feel so I recommend using base game more for that. I would love more modern options for my personal gameplay
Why wasn't this in Get to Work?
We don't talk about that
Because MUNEH 😂
@@zaynvarenshutain5279 you speak the truth lol
@@tattoocutiegal7629 i know thank you lmao
probably because they didn't know people would hate the gameplay so much back then that they would have to do a gamepack that builders would enjoy since sims is basically a building simulator
I see why other Simmers have been frustrated when their ideas have been taken and not given credit. Idk how many times I’ve announced “renovations” on my own builds. 🤦🏽♀️
This is the first time since ... I don't even know to be honest, I'm excited for a DLC. But as you already stated in your short video a few days back, I'm trying to keep my personal hype low. Don't want to be disappointed again. It's not just for builders, this one could also benefit storytelling so much.
I'm hoping to have more high level need solution objects from this pack. A lot of build mode items are pretty, but are not used in my gameplay due to how low scoring the need solutions are on them. I don't like to play with anything less than "8" for replenishing needs (only exception is the sink, I think the most hygiene they'll replenish is 4 or 5, which honestly makes sense, cause it's a sink).
If it wasn't for your video I wouldn't even know there is a game expansion coming lmao. Love your videos, always straight to point
I love your sassy reviews Carl. I was waiting for your reaction to the trailer. Thanks for uploading it.
i’m honestly ready for this pack! it seems very interesting. i’m not a builder at all but this will def be a fun “challenge” for me.
I didn’t get any hopes up at all, and yet somehow, I’m still disappointed. This is just build mode but in game. I’m a gameplay/storyteller gal, building is the one thing I’m shite at so I just can’t be bothered to do it. Not interested at all in this, but hey I’ll save money. TS4 hurts my soul at this point but I could listen to Carl talk forever and about anything so I will happily stick around
Talking about real estate, we need to be able to buy more lots for one family. In The Sims 3 I used to send some of the household to the other house and lock them in. Since it’s theirs they could use the furniture and be away but I could still control them if necessary.
You can technically do this with Get to Work if you buy a business lot. Though when I did this I used the business as he main house and the official residence as the place where I shoved extra people. You still have to sit through a loading screen to switch between them though.
@@BonaparteBardithion The packs are TERRIBLY expensive in my country. No way I can buy them. I only bought one and frankly it might have not been that worth it. Plus, TS3 did this for FREE. Besides the base game purchase of course. If you could give it to us before than you should be able to give it again right?! Well, not with EA! Sorry for the rant. BTW, the only pack I bought is Vampires and I like the ability to keep the ones you don’t want to play in stasis (by using the hibernate option for coffins) if they are a vampire.
The Tenants came out and they feared competition I see.
ngl its really smart they tried to cater to the builder community. sims 4 is very dollhouse and most players enjoy the building/creating aspect of the game. basically ur tricking builders into playing HAHAHA altho is it replayable? idk i havent tried the ts3 version. but hopefully it doesnt end up being a one-shot thing where its great for the first few times til it gets boring. with that said, i still might just buy it when its on sale lmfao.
Yeah, currently I'm of the opinion that it's not offering much - I'll get it on sale .. if they have *better gameplay* features than "just follow a short checklist and go into B&B on a different lot", I might consider buying it earlier. But I'm not sold yet. I play on PC, so I can get better new CC objects anytime... GAME packs shouldn't be mostly about STUFF
So they are finally adding in favorite color… to a game pack!?!? Wow took them this freaking long 🙄🙄
Seeing as none of the same colors ever match I wonder how that will work.
I'm scared this is going to be as buggy as the ghost hunting pack, or pretty much anything that has come after 2017 or so... A lot of the new shiny stuff we have paid for has been barely playable with huge aspects so bug-riddled that any immersion or enjoyment has been impossible. Normally I'd buy this the day one, but after things like Ecoliving, Paranormal stuff, and Bust the dust, I prefer to wait and see if it's just going to make the game worse with new bugs.
Thank you Carl! Really appreciate that the videos are short and straight to the point
I love your channel so much!! I've been relying on your website for years, so it made me SO happy to learn you have a KZhead channel. Your videos are well-made too!
i’m surprised and really excited for this pack! i love building and gameplay, so it’s cool to bring them together. there’s still a lot i really want for the game gameplay wise but i think this is a welcome addition!
Sucks they couldn't add a realtor Career aspect in this pack too then you could go full HGTV, but as a creative person, I think this pack could be super epic! Also great Video :)
So glad to see a new video! I missed ya!!
Let's be honest the trailer was well made and make people hype (like every pack already accomplished) later it gonna be broken so we're gonna need like 5 mods to fix it.
I'm still hoping for disabilities, rock band career, more occults and farms. I'm not mad at this pack, I'd just really like to make my simself and do things I'm interested in irl. I will enjoy this pack, I just wish I could play as me. Thanks for the video Carl, appreciate your hard work.
Really interesting perspective! You've said the first original things about this pack I've heard. Sims team needs to listen to you!
I really like your videos!! And your content. Thank you for your honest opinions and updates
Thanks for always posting, Carl. You're a voice that brings me peace, joy, and the urge to boot up TS4.
I'm not the first, but I suggested bands and mixing that with Get Famous SO long ago! Real estate is a great idea!
I want to be optimistic for this game pack, since building/decorating is the sims 4’s strength, but so many bugs remain unfixed and every major change to the gameplay system brings more bugs with it. I’m going to wait to see what the fallout with this pack is.
I'm so happy to hear you happy
I'm happy for the people excited for this, but the Architect career from Sims 3 is one of my least played features. I just don't find it very fun to design houses or locations that I'll rarely ever use afterwards. Also, is it just me or does this game pack look a little bit more like it has the same amount of gameplay content as the paranormal stuff pack? Most of the content seems to be centered around one career that I (personally) wouldn't see myself playing with more than once. I hope there's something more to it I'm not seeing that affects gameplay more than a single new career.
I love literally everything you said here. Thanks, Carl. 🖤
I’m just glad there’s finally sectionals
I love this. This is going back to the basics of why the sims was created in the first place!! Id be happy even if it was a giant design/build stuff pack, but the gameplay sounds really fun 😊😊😊😊
This can work if it more like a logic puzzle than ranking with RNG.
Yes and using relationships to explore their desires.
Thank you for your review!
I am actually hyped about those sectional sofas!
Another great video. I'm very curious about the new pack's mechanics. Especially how sims respond.
Oooo, this sounds great. I'm actually excited.
Alright, I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. Here's hoping we'll finally have bedding that's separate from the bed frames. Doubt it, but we can dream.
Nah, they won't be. But at least it looks like we can build up Sofas in a System like kitchen counters. That at least is one thing i would be very pleased about. And the carreer even if it will be repetetive looks like fun. Also the bedside tables of this Pack are appropriately size adjusted to the beds etc. I don't like building that much because i seriously suck at it but this still looks like a nice pack to me. And i stopped playing completely after they announced batou so that means something
lol I'm not at all optimistic for this one compared to past expansions... Given I've completely lost my enthusiasm for the game. This seems like it'll just be a copy and paste of previous game packs with a shiny new sticker slapped onto it. It's not a surprise given how minimum of effort they can put into this while working on dozens of other projects in the span of a year. The only truly new aspect will be furniture, and from what I've heard, 3D Objects are the easiest part.
I’m looking forward to the interior design career. They had this in Sims 2 or 3 and it was one of my favorite careers. I’m also looking forward to the new build items. They are releasing a lot of little things (like shoes as decor) and I love that!!
I’m truly excited for it, especially since I love decorating. Plus until we see a full let’s play with the gurus I’m not going to judge too much.
As someone who loves building/decorating houses I'm on board!! Might wait for a sale just because I think all the packs are expensive but I like the idea and the stuff looks *chef's kiss*
I'm so hyped for this pack!! The career looks cool and interesting but I'm more excited for more items 😅 I love the style so much. I wonder how much money your sims can make from this career.
I've been struggling with decorating homes so in hoping while playing you can not only be an interior decorator, but hire one too, I think that would be fun but idk how it'd work. I'm super excited for this and all the new cute furniture
I love the new pack from what it looks so far. So many new pretty build and buy items to play around with, and a carrer to make money for my sims with the aspect of the sims I enjoy most.
I totally agree that this game could benefit from a better real estate system. I find it sometimes very difficult to find a place to live when moving sims out of a household. Why can't I rent a house. The system is already there from City Living. With that they could let you buy plots and then rent out the houses becoming the landlord and making passive income, with a few interactions that make sure that your rentals are rented by people. You could even allow me to buy vacation rentals with the potential to make more money but also greater risks of not renting them etc. This could be a fun stuff pack introducing some new functionalities if they are never giving us hotels or be integrates into something bigger.
When I first played the sims, I didn't really play it at all and went mad building and it was so much fun. Now I am revisiting the whole series and experiencing the actual game! At one time I would have been excited for this concept, but now it's hard to get enthused.
I’m a builder so this is really exciting... I’m definitely excited to see the cc creators take these meshes
That would be pretty neat update if it included create-a-style. You know, that thing from Sims 3 which allowed you to make anything you wanted red or crazy looking. Way more options to choose from and more freedom of decorating.
Like the look on the curved sofas but I want to know more about the furniture. Build/buy mode. I build more than actually playing the game. Also hoping it releases at a good price.
fully agree on the real estate
When I first heard about this pack, I thought it was just lots of stuff to decorate with, but it looks like you're getting a pack wit just one of the many new careers you got in the Sims 3 pack - the decorator career.
i would REALLY love a real estate system. like you said, it would be a really great way of incorporating build mode (the strongest part of ts4) into story mode. it seems like it would be really easy for them to do since we already have a few game mechanics in place that mirror real estate; being able to own businesses and the landlords in city living. i wouldn't mind if it was even just a game mechanic patched in and wasn't a pack with new items etc, though ya know... ea would see that differently $$$$
As someone who just downloads other Simmer's houses from the Gallery, this pack has no interest to me.
I am excited about this!!!!!!
I could get down with Sims 4 Slum Lord Living. I was hoping we'd at least get home renovation and house flipping with this pack (where my sims have to use their own skills like painting and handiness to fix up a cheap house), but that's looking like a no-go either. I'm really not interested in a home decorator career. I feel like that's something I, as the player, have already been doing for years every time I boot up the game, so it's sadly nothing new. Besides I know the Sims 4 formula and I'm already afraid the job will get repetitive quickly or have requests that make no sense. And, geez, I almost hope they don't include community lots in the decoration gigs. Because if they do I can tell you the first bug will probably be you were forced to decorate a space that removed one of the requirements for the lot type so the lot won't work anymore.
I think they could easily prevent the community lots breaking .. if the career requires you to go into Build mode, the lot requirements are up there in a neat list already, easy to include that into the coding of the job requirements. Probably easier than include that in the list of items that aren't supposed to be "borrowed" with the Caring is Sharing NAP (though I do think they were just lazy with that)
@@organicstorm Yes, I agree they *could* easily prevent the lots from breaking, the same way they *could* have prevented a lot of the bugs they are now fixing. The question is, will they? Sorry, I'm a bit salty about this given their track record. I really do hope some people enjoy this pack but I'm seriously disappointed by it. It was not what I wanted.
@@introvertedgamer8584 honestly, same. Based on what we know about the pack atm I doubt it'll bring enough actually new gameplay to justify the price tag, but apparently a sizeable percentage of the players care more about "cute" furniture .. 😅 we'll see.
Thanks for the video Carl. This looks really cool. I'd love to play it. Just like Get Famous looks cool. Outdoor Retreat looks cool and so does Dine Out. HOWEVER.... looks are just not enough. I'll wait until ask the bugs have been sorted to play. It's been over 3 months since playing last. And this won't bring me back.
It would have been gracious (not to mention their redeeming duty to players) to include "house flipping" - buy-renovate-sell. As said, being able to own a second property at least would unleash the builders and interior designers in many sims players I know, mostly those who don't engage LP - giving another dimension to gameplay and sustained interest. When a house becomes empty, there could be an option to buy (for flipping/renting of course), or donating to the town for a community space/park/museum/historical sight/tourist attraction (fame) - making the game more immersive. Just some thoughts with this new game pack . . .
Going to be honest, I noped out after Journey to Batuu and have NO idea what (besides kits, ugh) has released since then, but this is kind of cool. I enjoyed the intereor design career in The Sims 3 quite a lot :)
Im SO down for this pack! I cant wait, come quickly June 1st!!
as someone who's not a builder, the game lacks gameplay already and I think this pack just caters to builders even more. I'm disappointed they couldn't have come up with something different because there's already so much in build and buy mode whereas the gameplay itself is lacking massively
Not only that, but don't more build and buy items make the game significantly more laggy?
Now that I think about it, the scroll feature for build items is such a freaking hassle. Like when you're using the build cheat that expands the items you can buy/use, you can't even scroll properly because there are so many items. What's the point of the cheat being in the game if you can't use all the items just because you didn't realize you skipped a whole bunch? They need to update the catalogue. I'm fine with it being enlarged and stretched however you see fit, instead of it being fixed on the screen and me missing content without even knowing said content even existed. Anyhoo, the catalogue already has plenty in it just like you said. And the scrolling feature is proof of that. I love new content, but I love gameplay so much more. Without gameplay, that's when things get repetitive. Builders get excited because they actually get more content than we do
@@lavoniaholloway1245 yes everything you've said! Also, just throwing this out there that a pack with CAS items would also be benefitial because of the lack of items for teens, kids, toddlers and men in general. Unfortunately, they already had plenty opportunities to integrate gameplay and CAS but missed them
@@yabookprincess oy I would love for new content on all of those. But since I'm a gameplay type player, I need content that I can work with. Like, for clothing, I wish they'd set up a store so you can buy clothes instead of bunching them together. Buying video games instead of them increasing by skill level (and you can max out skills on each). Real social media for teens as well as parental block. Omigod, and summer vacation? There's content that I want that just doesn't fit exactly into build and buy mode. But if they have gameplay-driven content in BB, then I'd eat that right up
Im interested...but Im not wowed. The BB is nice and I know I can do some interesting builds with this, but im not seeing much gameplay potential. Im buying this with Amazon giftcards.
