  • KQJ9s was a raise pre I think, maybe solver might say if K was suited but I think a raise there would be better than a limp or overlimp... as played though the rest of the hand is fine but too tight pre. Would be interesting to see what solver says here pre.

    @mflambert@mflambert5 ай бұрын
    • The solver has KK73ds in HJ as an open pot and KQJ9ss in CO as an open pot. The solver assumes a 2 blind game, not 4 blind, so I'm trying to think through how that would skew opening ranges. Its either wider because more dead money or narrower because more incentive to call. What do you think? I think either way I was a bit too passive pre-flop this day.

      @GMoneyPoker@GMoneyPoker5 ай бұрын
    • @@GMoneyPoker basically in a limp heavy game if you have a hand that can overimp do it, I think this hand is strong enough to be in the raising category... its marginal and like I said if it was suited to the K it would be a mandatory raise

      @mflambert@mflambert5 ай бұрын
    • I think about it like this "well this is a trash hand but I can see a flop with an overlimp" and that hand isnt in the 'trash hand' category in my opinion so bump it up

  • That bomb pot hand is a good one to learn from. You can bet your last dollar that your opponent has a queen. He is not leading out with 86 for the second nut straight and nothing on the bottom. So you BEST case scenario is that you are trying to get your jack to hold up on the top board and your boat to hold up on the bottom board. You are RARE:Y going to win both pots, especially if he keeps betting More importantly, once you decide to ride this horse, just when can you find a fold? Apparently you cannot since you paid him off on 3 streets. Had you split the pot, you would have won something like $75 (assuming 8 players). INstead you punted about $1000 bucks. Your lack of value on the top board, combined with the fragile nature of bottom boat on a board of QQ7, combined with the fact that your opponent is virtually guaranteed to have a queens since he needs a Q to have the nut straight are all clues that the wise play is to fold, especially since nothing on the bottom board will tell you that he made his hand. literally any card is a scare card. I expect your 77 will hold up about half the time. But remember....He is leading into the field. Is he betting something like Q864 into the field...? Maybe, but if so, he will be broke soon.. As tempting as a Q is to bet, without either a boat or some solid equity on the other board, this is not a hand to bet from early position. My point is that he should be skewed towards holdings you don't want to face, especially Q9 or Q7. I I can only really think of one holding where he is leading and you are ahead. He might have something like AKQx, but your equity against that hand cannot be very good either.

  • that QT99 hand was pretty bad imo. when the bottom board double pairs, any queen beats you.

    • Cause if you want to keep the two pair every other opponent will say okey but I’m gunna play the trios on the board which beats two pair in ever game.
