That call with the nuts is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.
I really respect you as a player and love your analysis but that river play with the nut straight is just mind-blowing. I somewhat understand your logic of “well he would never call with worse” but after seeing his hand, him having a straight blocker, and you under-repping your hand I think there is a chance he calls with top set and clubs missing. I really just think that’s a terrible play and strange of someone with your skill/experience.
Totally agreed. He should’ve left that hand out because I’m super confused
It's really impossible for us as viewers with no/little knowledge of opponent to know if this was the right decision here. Top set with a straight blocker would tempt most players into calling but does JNandez ever have a bluff here if he shoves? His shove is repping only 9T and he needs blockers to make this bluff - but he also needs a hand that can call flop and turn. So I guess something like TcTsAcx - but then again a hand like that is mostly raising the flop so it would be a low frequency. Maybe it's a hand like JTT8 but I'd argue that makes more sense as a call - but the possibility of folding QQ might well mean it's a shove. If JNandez could have these bluffs here then you absolutely have to shove the nuts but if he's never bluffing and opponent knows it then it doesn't matter if he has top set and 1 blocker - he'd find the fold. I will add though that if he's so confident on his read of the opponent then why is gaining the info of what he had relevant? I don't think the info is valuable here. You know if he folds it's either a bluff with 99/TT or thin value with what he had (QQ) and which specifically it was isn't that useful.
@@Mwuesse funny that you think just because we are viewers that we dont know what were talking about
perhaps even the greats overthink things
Agree, we don't need to worry about balancing our nuts on the river with bluffs, not when we actually have the nuts... there is zero chance of losing, and a chance our opponent makes a mistake and calls us... or perhaps, we Min raise, and opponent 3 bets??? Idk what the correct sizing is here but not raising seems inherently bad. This seems like very basic level stuff.
When's the mastermind video coming out justifying just calling the nuts on river? can't wait!
Mastermind member here. Loving the live content on KZhead. Looking forward to seeing you battle suhephix, who along with you and Shuller are my favorite coaches!
Plot is a sick game ,enjoying the content alot man thanks
love the videos, please post more PLO vlogs!
That was fun and educational. Thanks for sharing
That ace queen call by the donk, is so sick. Omaha ace high calls , much more exciting!
Wow, I can’t believe you are not shoving that river - it feels wrong for so many reasons: - you’ve underrepped your hand and the opp can be value betting worse (which he was, and even had a blocker to the nuts which would have increased his chances of calling - shoving could seem more bluffy as you underrepped your hand - you said a guy may have thought he was playing NL, which implies not all players are Omaha regs - this is not the first hour of a 20 hour cash game where seeing the opp’s whole cards could be super +EV
These are vlogs are incredible, can’t wait for the next one
Thank you!
I didnt listen to anything, just watched those magical hands of the dealer do their thing. 💛 K.
These series are pretty cool!
The reverse BAMMM🤣
Exactly 😂
Bam. that king was brutal. thx for the content
Just calling with the nuts. Great play lol. Literally I love seeing fish do this and when you ask them why they didn't raise with the nuts they always say "oh he wouldn't have called anyways" 😂😂 lmaoo like that's a good excuse not to try to get more money jesus lol
I agree. If you think they are not calling with less too often, just make the minimum raise
I don't think you listened to the clip close enough. The reason he just called is because he valued seeing what the other player's hand was. If he thinks the other guy will never call with less, then his opponent will muck and he won't gain any information about what his opponent took this line with.
@@JoshM0121 big surprise the guy had top set. Shocking. Lol
@@JoshM0121 It's a tournament. They never play together again probably or he will forget this guys play. Why want to know his hand instead of going for full value? If he shoved, he might have got called because there was a missed flush draw there. Also, nut straight often doesn't play this narrative. Most would have repotted on the turn
I like this kind of video Where you play and explain especially live tournaments.
That “bam” was legendary
thanks for reuploading
On the J536 board does the solver say to bet pot on the turn when you pick up the nfd? seems like the correct move would be to chk back because he could easily have a set or a straight on the turn and blow you off your equity - not sure i agree with this one.
So brutal 2 outer Thought his open ender was good enough to call 😂
thewakko was there?? i saw his name on the waiting list for the cash game
Do you feel like your pre-flop fold percentage is higher in tournaments compared to high limit?
Regardless of your reasoning I just can’t get behind calling with the nuts. Oh yeah he had top set, big freaking surprise lol. What a bizarre play
If you could use a graphic that makes the suits bigger it would help. The club/spade or diamond/heart image on the card isn't discernable.
I’m confused as to why you just call with the nuts at the end? I listened to your explanation but wouldn’t you always want to put all the money in if you essentially have 0% chance of losing once the river card is out. There is no -ev off of jamming the river spot so why wouldn’t you take it every time?
I get to see the hole cards when I just call. If I jam and he folds I don't. But as said against almost any other player I would have jammed because there is a slight chance they might call with worse.
Seeing his hand and how he played it is higher value to you in that spot? That’s awesome lol
Can you tell us what he had please?
QQT8
@@JNandezPoker Then why not bet a smaller sizing than all in?
Does Ellis ask for a penalty after the hand?
You lost me when you just called with the nuts.
9:10 had a good laugh thank you
I’m not sure if just check-calling the nuts there just to gain information on your opponents hand is more valuable than trying to go for max-value, but I suppose if you’re absolutely 100% sure he will never call with the 2nd nuts then I guess there is a case to be made (Also, you’re the pro here not me lol). Another thing here, I play at Playground poker club in Montreal, where the rule is here that you can’t check back the nuts ip or check-call on the river when oop either so I was surprised to hear that some casinos allow you to do that (I’d have to double-check for tourneys but I’m 100% sure for cash game). Either way, nice content as usual!
I've never heard of this rule before. What's the reason for it?
@@sdrawkcab190 I believe the idea is to discourage collusion.
Any tourney played with TDA rules(which is almost all of them in the US) you would get a penalty for not raising the river. I can't speak to how often that is the case in Europe.
I’m a new dealer. Are players slightly patient with dealers on PLO?
I say always go for the raise with the nuts. Players surprise you.
22:00 why can you make it 18k here? What am i missing?
Nice session. Unlucky with JJJ77 vs KKK77. Regardless, still not sure why you flat the nuts with 10, 9
Nando please put what seat the hero is seated in please. Perhaps next to JNANDEZ
Can you tell please, is there more money and fishes in omaha than in nl or it is a myth? Trying to decide is it a good idea to switch to omaha
Why not both
Best time to switch was years ago. Second best time is today. :)
ok qj87 hands - i agree call the flop but id either donk the turn or chk raise the turn - you can chk raise all in so why wouldnt you? in a tournament you want to take it down and not give sets or 2 prs with fds a free river and not charge them - i dont agree at all with not either betting or chk raising - id probably donk actually- im not sure what monker says but i cant think chk call is correct- explain how it is if you feel different
Also how could you check the nuts twice when you’re so short.. I just don’t understand it
With the 9876 hand we want to chk our entire range on a j53 board? why? Because MP called and could have a middling hand? so could we right- we actually do. But youre saying he could have kk and AA - um he three betting range would be these , not so much flat calling- esp aces. Lot of confusing info here. I also dont like the bluff because would you really check call , than chk again 2 pr or a set on this board - probably not which is why he looked you up so light. I might too.
Not raising the nuts baffles me... so did the explanation
"the optimal play is to check but I decide to raise" amen brother amen.
That's a comment about how a solver would play it. I analyzed these hands after I played them and reference that in the voice over commentary.
Wow. Dealer looks bored to death at the 4:15 mark.
The nuts check when your hand is 100% disguised I think is a big mistake. I listened to your logic, but you are assuming your opponent doesnt have JJTT/JJ99 and decide to hero blocking the Nuts, 95 or 54 which have back into a straight and MAY choose to bluff catch. Given how passively you played the hand, I think you are vastly over-estimating how perfectly your opponents are going to play. I know you wanted to "see his cards" but did you ever think about the value YOU are giving up also by tabling your cards? You played the nuts very passively and got a good run out, I think you are going to be giving away way more than you will gain from seeing his cards. Great video overall! Really nice!
correct, very poorly played
Yea fuckin insane ahahahaha
the only way the TT96 hand makes sense is that he somehow misinterpreted his hand and thought he had the 2nd nuts, but tried to justify his action afterwards in the editing.
Yeah, that's exactly what happened bro.
You live germany ?
No. USA and part time Austria
why do you always have 100 k chips i dnot understand
Been telling my buddy you’re not that good, and calling with the nuts is pretty much nail in the coffin.
Even if there is a .1% chance he calls with worse, you should have raised.
I don't understand how all casinos don't penalise checking/calling behind with the nuts.
In my casino it’s not allowed to just call with the nuts
In a cashgame or tournament?
@@JNandezPoker both!
Cash
WTF is that nut straight play. The pot was already 109,000 after your river call and he had just 11,000 behind. Explanation: " Didn't raise to see his hole cards." With any hole cards he would default call your raise at this spot. Clear the worst move I ever seen from a very well regarded Pro. And some people in comments are trying to understand "the logic behind 🤔" of this move just because Jnandez did it. 😂
hahah the irony of this comment is great considering you can't even properly read the stack sizes
bam.....
BAMM
@jnandez what’s a good VPIP for PLO 4 card and 5 card
But what about human mistakes what if he miss read his hand or didn’t see a straight or got tilted and called with a blocker i still think that was a repot and not just a call ik u r a professional so i get where u coming from because seeing his card is more valuable but i don’t understand how u had the heart to do it lol all respect tho
LFG JNANDEZ!!!!!!
If your opponent would never call there, start doing it as a bluff… Calling with the nuts there is a jokeeeeee imo. But what do I know
Not sure how Jt7 doesnt wrap around an 8 the villian could have...
Got to raise with the nuts. Looks suspect otherwise. Lucky the casino didn’t kick you out or have the rest of the table get pissed off
Ola! 🍒😃
Just calling scummy move
Self harm
Just calling the nuts in the River because he might fold. Poker is dead they say😅
Just call with the nuts, dude has top set with straight blocker couldve EASILY hero called you HAHAHAHAAHHHAHAAAH oh man wtf mastermind? Alright buddy
I normally don't comment much but Yo calling with the nuts just to see the opp. hand isn't ethical nor gto. I think everyone else would have had an issue with this hand at any other casino as if this was collusion. Esp with all the things that are going on in the world of poker. You could have bet a small 1/4 pot if that's the case.
I usually love you stuff and agree with you but this one I didn't. Hoesntly wasnt a fan of how you played. I asked questions for each hand below in seperate posts.
No idea why you would ever just call with the nuts. To see his hand was your reasoning but it's fairly obv what he had there. If not top set then a set of jacks. A penalty should have been given for sure. If you were at my table doing that soft playing bullshit I'd raise hell
How long have you been a vegan?
I hear that he "shouldn't" call your shove, non the less you gotta raise lol that's a mistake
This guy is PLO daddy and all nl25 regs telling him how to play a hand is just hilarious 😂
unbelievably cringe comment
@@travvvvvv825 back to nl 10 kid
Everybody whining in the comments about the nuts call-only hand.. wonder how many of them play high stakes PLO for a living 🧐
😅😅
Lol it’s literally should be illegal to just call with the nuts. It’s against any poker logic.
Calling with the nuts on the final card is pure collusion on your part, zero explanation can excuse that play. Sorry I can’t follow your content sir
I always thought you are a great player but this calling with the nuts hand and its explanation makes absolutely 0 sense. Ok maybe if there is 1 player behind but headsup, I dont get it. At least raise the minimum or something but getting 0 value is just brainless!
Definitely shoulda been penalized. Definitely just flatted because he’s your friend. Cheater. Sickening.
You made 2 unforgivable value-forfeiting mistakes, and you played the early hands in this video like a complete fish as well. Its only justice, the guy you didnt raise with the nuts felted you. Bad Bad Bad
I really like your content and how well you explain things but... that just makes zero sense calling with the absolute nuts on the river. Why would check raising there ever be a bad thing? And your opponent had top set against a busted flush draw with a blocker to the nut straight...
